Hello, my name is Dante, I'm an amateur writer and I'm working on a book, the current title of which is Settlers of Eria

In order to help me find motivation I decided to post some lore online

Pretty please ask me questions and give constructive criticism

Dante Rosemary is not my legal name, but if nothing goes wrong it will be my pen name

Summary:

In an uncharted part of the galaxy a strange new planet is discovered. It's surrounded by a strange force field that prevents anything and anyone from entering.

Eventually, a few spaceships, filled with people of various races seeking new homes, with enough desperation to try searching for it on this eerie planet, manage to break through its atmosphere and find themselves stuck. The force field becomes impenetrable once again, their trusted machines malfunction and the planet's flora starts affecting their bodies in strange ways.

Left with no way out the settlers have to make themselves at home. It's not so bad here, where none of their enemies are present. So they build new homes, overcome their fear to befriend creatures roaming the foreign lands and seas and they explore.

I kinda died because social anxiety and the desire to be mysterious won't let me post and also I'm reworking some major worldbuilding so everything is frozen

writers really will spend twenty minutes pacing around the kitchen thinking “this scene is genius” and then sit down to type and suddenly remember approximately three words and one emotional vibe

Random worldbuilding: there's a region in the country with a strong culture of offering homecooked dishes as gifts for all occasion. And over time, they have accumulated an entire category of dishware that aren't any particular individual's property - they are constantly in rotation, being gifted and re-gifted as the dish holding a pie, a casserole, loaf of bread, the list goes on. Once a gift dish is in your possession, you need to make something in it as a gift in return - not necessarily to the one you received it from, but to someone nonetheless.

They're called lovers' dishes, but not for any romantic reasons. The name was adopted after people started deeming the previous name, courtesan bowls, inappropriate. The term courtesan bowl was also a slightly more cleaned-up term replacing a previous one, as the dishware were originally known as slut cups. As they, you understand, they get around.

You asked me to tell you the truth, said it would feel like a cool wave washing over you. But I spoke of scorched earth and infernos. I spoke and flames flared out of my mouth, soot raising in the warmed air. I spoke and you listened with tears forming in your eyes, cool track left behind on your cheeks. In the end you looked at me with a smile, and i realized then that you knew my words were nothing but fire.

nothing will beat 'truth stood beside me, silent, while I handed you something prettier' but

I held the truth in my palm, aware of how precious it was. I looked at it with consideration, before crushing it with no second thought.

Only when there was nothing left of it but dust, I came to face my audience, ready to present a new truth, with no trace of the old one left in it.

"Swear on The Gods." ordered the priest, "They will know if you lie. And they will kill you."

"I swear on The Gods, I'm telling the truth."

My words echoed around the temple. We waited for a long time, but nothing came. The Gods knew the truth was not safe now. The priest nodded, believing me at last.

"You know me. You know I would never lie to you," I said assuredly.

You knew me. And you knew the truth too. And the fact that the two of us — the truth and I — were never seen together.

that's a tricky one

I daydream an obscene amount so I've got way more lore than someone who procrastinates, but the second I attempt to actually write anything, it turns out I remember nothing, until I close the laptop and the daydreaming hits back in

and also half of it contradicts itself because there are million headcanons, AU's, and timelines

I also procrastinate, if I didn't I'd be unstoppable
