me when i realized this ask was sitting in my drafts the whole time (almost 3 months đ) instead of posted last year like I thought I did:

Amelia's Book of Friends (A Natsume Yuujinchou AU)
Amelia, who grew up seeing spirits her whole life, breaks the seal of a powerful spirit by the name of Aiyon. Together, much to Aiyon's dismay, they embark on a journey to return the names of the spirits trapped inside the Book of Friends, one of the few items left behind her mother.
this story would follow plot points from the anime/manga, with some creative liberties by yours truly. Featuring:
Exorcist! Javi: the last known active member of the Garcia Clan. Works for Buzzblast during weekdays, and side hustles as an exorcist during evenings/weekends. After a nasty fall out with his dad, javi now lives in a studio apartment in the downtown area of Pine Ridge (he still keeps in contact with izzy tho).
Witch! Fern: a girl trying to keep her magic life and school life as separate as possible, but it's proving to be a challenging task as her powers go stronger and difficult to control. She first seeks out Amelia's help after she notices something off with her crush, Izzy, during practice

this one has been in the works since 2021 𫣠mainly because I've been trying to plan out everything (attempts at world building, character/story arcs, whether or not i want to flesh this out into a single multi-chapter fic or a series of short ficlets đ¤). and when it comes to planning out fics, i have a tendency to get lost in planning that i forget to actually write my ideas out. hoping to start posting about this story this year (i just need to settle on a format first).
out of all the wips I have in my drafts, the one I have made the most progress on is my angsty javi-centric fic! idk how much i can say without spoiling too much (unless...đ), but it will attempt to build on his relationship dynamics (and some garcia fam headcanons that i have) with izzy and his parents (especially his dad, Carlos) đââď¸đââď¸ there will be hurt, perhaps some comfort. but for now, hereâs some hurt (or would you call it light angst? đ¤):
Javi wakes up on the precipice with a rush.
Despite the hammering in his chest, his body remains still. He stares at the ceiling for a split second, eyes fluttering shut once more to the sight of static. It swirls across the back of his eyelids in muted technicolor. And his dream slowly resurfaces in the form of a mosaic. Calloused hands appear, shuffling through the different shards, and it takes a minute before Javi realizes that they belong to him. He watches his hands reach out to the space around him, pulling in as many shards as he can hold, scrambling to put together the missing pieces of his dream as he oscillates between sleep and wakefulness. Javi is so close to picking up where he last left off, finding familiarity in the mosaic laid out before him. But the call to reality is strong. It tugs at his consciousness and the static, now accompanied by a slow rhythmic thumping, encroaches on his field of vision like a vignette. The faster his hands move, the faster the static closes in. He feels the thumping increase in speed and the inside of his lungs start to burn, the building pressure making its way up his trachea, settling in his upper throat. Almost⌠there⌠If he can have more time then maybe, just maybeâŚ
Instead, Javi is left breathless with a heavy chest and the fractured afterimage of what couldâve been.
and thatâs only the beginning of 4 chapters! as of right now, chapter 1 is 3/4 done while the other chapters are outlined with various written progress. i know how i want everything to flow, but I just need to convince my brain on the words i want to use to connect everything (aka i gotta kick perfectionism in the ass and just write đ¤ đ¤ đĽ)
also! tokushipping week snuck up on me and i thought i had more time to prepare đ i know i have at least one thing written for this week (hint: a dino fury rare pair/ship), but i also have a lot of ideas for ships/prompts to write for! possibilities: endless. limits: my brain/energy capacity to write n post on time đ looking forward to what everyone creates for tokushipping week 2026 and stay tuned for whatâs in store (cause even iâm not sure whatâs going to happen this week)!
some people think writers are so eloquent and good with words, but the reality is that we can sit there with our fingers on the keyboard going, âwhatâs the word for non-sunlight lighting? Like, fake lighting?â and for ten minutes, all our brain will supply is âunofficialâ, and we know thatâs not the right word, but itâs the only word we can come up withâŚuntil finally itâs like our face got smashed into a brick wall and we remember the word we want is âartificialâ.

to the small few that have read my btr story/had left me asks in my inbox: i would like to formally apologize for lurking instead of responding. i yearn for my tumblr page to be properly tagged and organized, but the task seem so daunting and overwhelming that it psychs me out from posting đ (that and anxiety is a bitch but alas đ¤ˇ). the amount of empty reblogs that are just sitting in my drafts, because i want to tag them but my brain is unsure of how to... you should guess try and guess the number. it's actually wild.
for the record: i HAVE NOT stopped thinking about the stories i want to write! it's crazy how long one can ruminate on ideas before actually gaining the brainpower and words to write them đ¤Ż. i say this to say that life update: i've started writing again! yippee! đđ *cue celebratory ollie*
i've made some progress on my current published project, as well as some others that have been simmering in the google docs for a while now. i will always love my girl, lucy stone, but power rangers (specifically dino/cosmic fury) has had A GRIP on me lately. while i can't say whether or not I'll be posting new chapter/new fic anytime soon, i hope you stick around for what's to come!

honestly, this phrase has been on my mind more times than i can count. i've kidnapped it, taken it as a hostage with no ransom money because i need it to live permanently in my head.
Maomao: If I had a nickel for every beautiful noble with purple hair, surprisingly attractive bodies, eccentric personalities and deep parental issues, who are pretending to be someone way below their class, who gave me hair ties and are deeply in love with me I would have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it is weird that it happened twice.
i get that americans love their cultural imperialism, but it really does piss me off that june is âinternationalâ pride month just because something happened in the united states.
in aotearoa, june isnât our pride, itâs theirs. marsha p johnson and sylvia rivera are their historical figures, not ours. the phrase that âyou owe your rights to Black trans womenâ is true there, but here we owe our rights to (mostly) MÄori historical figures. i have the freedoms i do because of the legacy of an entirely different set of people operating in an entirely different context at entirely different times.
But because of american cultural imperialism, most queer people in Aotearoa donât even know our own queer history. Carmen Rupe, Ngahuia Te Awekotuku, the Dorian Society, Gillian Laundon, Georgina Beyer, and the Wolfenden Association are some of our queer history. We should know their names! we should know what they did for us! but because of the power of the american imperial machine, we donât.
our national pride month should be july, the month that the Homosexual Law Reform Act passed in 1989. our two largest cities hold their pride festivals in february and march, respectively. american queer history has very little (or nothing, depending on who you ask) to do with our queer history. anecdotally, from my own queries, queer youth in aotearoa know more about american queer history than our own.
anyway, happy pride, americans. iâm truly sorry that most of you donât see the negative impact your nationâs culture has on the rest of the world. and to the rest of the world reading this, try searching for your own country and cultureâs queer history, donât accept the american narratives as your own. we deserve our own histories divorced from the cultural hegemony of the USA.
