For the PR headcanons ask, 1, 2, 12, 18, 23 and 26 for RPM rangers + Dr. K
And I’m adding Tenaya because I got her on the brain
1 (What's their music taste like?)
Scott: He’s has pretty basic rock music taste. It’s actually really similar to Dillon’s taste and it’s one of the first things they bonded over.
Flynn: Scottish boy always listens to Scottish music and his favorite will always be Annie Lennox
Summer: She’s actually a big fan of punk and pop-punk. Especially anything with anti-establishment/anti-capitalism/wealth inequality stuff.
Ziggy: He will listen to quite literally anything. He would probably listen to a 3 minute and 42 second recording of a blender.
Dillon: He listens to classic rock driving music. Probably a bunch of Aerosmith, AC/DC, Steppenwolf, and Sweet. He also has a bunch of cassette tapes in his glovebox from before Venjix.
Gem & Gemma: They either are listening to the brightest hyperpop or thrash metal. There is no in between and it rotates every other song. Also, they thrash their heads to every song until they feel faint.
Dr. K: Mostly she listens to classical music, but her guilty pleasure music genre will always be technopop.
Tenaya: She got into female rage music thanks to Summer. Her favorite is “Everybody Supports Women” by Sofia Isella.
2 (What's their biggest secret?)
Scott: This is kind of going along with Dillon, but they actually started liking/respecting each other way before they let on.
Flynn: He’s secretly feels very overshadowed by everyone else on the team.
Summer: She’s secretly a subculture queen. She tries to keep looking like a girl-next-door type but she’s actually very into punk and alt cultures. She gets more into after her ranger duties are over.
Ziggy: The medical supplies he gave to the orphanage was not the first time he stole from the mafia to give to the orphanage. He just did it in smaller amounts and more subtly and made it look like mistakes. He keeps this secret for practical reasons.
Dillon: He’s softer for way more people than he lets on. You have to know what to look for, but if you do, you’ll see it.
Gem: He’s secretly much more introverted than he comes off as. He struggles to make connections outside of Gemma. He’s much more lowkey and awkward when she’s not around.
Gemma: She wishes people would see her and Gem as individuals more, but they really only had each other for the longest time, so they struggle to make friends.
Dr. K: She has a soft spot for all things kawaii. She especially loves Sanrio. She likes Kuromi and Cinnamoroll the most. She also loves cute little trinkets.
Tenaya: She loves Dillon dearly, but she wishes he would give her space and not be so overprotective of her all the time.
12 (What's their fashion sense like, if they could wear what they want?)
Scott: He usually keeps it simple.
Flynn: He’s pretty boy-next-door when it comes to fashion, but he would like to wear Scottish clothes like kilts more often. He usually just wears light jeans and T-shirt, usually with a human rights slogan on it.
Summer: Rich girl turned thrift store/up-cycling queen. She now adamantly will refuse to have any designer piece of clothing touch her body.
Ziggy: He’d be a scene kid and I don’t take criticism. He would wear an armful of Kandi bracelets and I have no reason for this. He also loves distressed clothes.
Dillon: He wears leather on leather. He eats, sleeps, and breathes leather. He’s probably the type of guy that owns like 5 pairs of the exact same pants.
Gem and Gemma: They both wear exactly what they want to. They don’t like to tie themselves down to one particular aesthetic. And their clothes will clash.
Dr. K: After Venjix, she starts to dress a lot more casually. She still prefers to wear a lab coat but she sometimes wears a trench coat instead. She just likes the sensory input of being swallowed by a jacket.
Tenaya: Post-Venjix, she leans into a more baggy aesthetic. She hates wearing tight clothes because it’s traumatic for her and reminds her of being Tenaya 7/15. She likes wearing loose ripped jeans with baggy colorful knit sweaters.
Scott: We know a good bit about his dad and their relationship. I headcanon that there was a relatively large age gap between him and his brother (like almost a decade or so) and that his mother died when he was relatively young.
Flynn: We also get a little snippet of his backstory. I think his mother was never really around. I think his parents were divorced when he was young and his mother died sometime during Venjix taking over.
Summer: We also know a good bit about her family life too, but I also headcanon she’s an IVF baby.
Ziggy: He was raised in the orphanage he gives the stolen medical supplies to. He was never adopted officially, but the owner liked him and became his mother figure. He often helped with cooking and cleaning as he got older. He also joined the Cartel with the intentions of getting money/protection for the place and people who raised him. But the medical supplies was just a thing being at the right place at the right time.
Dillon and Tenaya: Outside of what we know, their parents both died and that’s why they were raised by their grandparents. They were both homeschooled because they didn’t think the schools provided the necessary accommodations for Tenaya and Dillon refused to leave her side. They lived pretty much in the middle of nowhere and only had each other.
Gem and Gemma: (Sometimes I lowkey like to imagine they aren’t related at all and just sort of bonded like siblings or were told they were related when they were first brought in, but thinking that they are siblings this is what I have.) Gemma is actually the older twin, everyone just says Gem’s name first because it rolls off the tongue better. Also, she’s the less dependent sibling.
Dr. K: Obviously she never had much of a family life, but they were not much better than Alphabet Soup. They willingly gave her to them.
Scott: He had absolutely zero time for hobbies during Venjix and Post-Venjix he realizes how empty his life is without ranger duties. He spends several months trying just about everything. Eventually, he discovers he really likes to journal. He helps Dr. K transcribe and keep records of their fights against Venjix. He’s also really into flight simulators.
Flynn: His main hobby is taking things apart and then fixing them. He’s also good at cooking and is the only one besides Ziggy to not be a total disaster in the kitchen.
Summer: She was actually always GNC in her interests. She got around this by doing things that required a lot of money (like motorcycles and private karate lessons) so her parents would approve.
Ziggy: He got into cooking because he would always cook for the other children in the orphanage to help out. He’s very good at making the most out of inexpensive ingredients.
Dillon: He doesn’t remember it explicitly, but his unconscious memory holds that he use to love gardening. It’s why he waters the flower in the first episode of the show. He does get back into gardening eventually, but he never remembers that he liked it before.
Both Gem and Gemma got their love for crazy contraptions from watching MacGyver reruns. They also both love extreme sports. Gem likes rock climbing and Gemma likes motocross.
Dr. K: She’s actually super into artistic design stuff. She mostly plays the violin because that was the one creative outlet Alphabet Soup let her have. But she also drafted concept art for all the zords and has hundreds of sketches she never used as well. She also got into cutesy games like Animal Crossing because of Ziggy and the two of them play together with Tenaya.
Tenaya: After Venjix, she gets really into reading. As her vision worsens, she mostly listens to audiobooks and Dr. K makes her a braille e-reader with some spare techs. She also loves to sing and is very good at it.
Scott: I don’t really project much on Scott because he’s so different than me. Most of my headcanons for him aren’t indulging how I myself am. I do like him as having hearing damage for more disability rep in Power Rangers.
Flynn: I mentioned this previously but autistic Flynn has my heart.
Summer: She use to play tennis all the time. It’s one of the few “rich-coded” activities she still enjoys.
Ziggy: I like NB or some other non-cis Ziggy. I might have to make a separate post about all my LGBTQ+ RPM headcanons so I can get a coherent post about them. I also love neurodivergent Ziggy.
Dillon: He’s from the (American) Midwest and has no idea.
Gem: He eventually becomes very close friends with Scott and he helps Scott have more fun.
Gemma: Post-Venjix, she starts a STEM club/camp for girls and it is exactly as chaotic as you expect, but she gets a lot of girls into STEM. It’s part of the thing Dr. K and Ziggy did.
Dr. K: As a chubby girl, she is chubby to me.
Tenaya: Her vision eventually reverts to being legally blind. A part of her likes it because it reminds her she doesn’t have to be a perfect killing machine anymore. Also, she becomes a Power Ranger I don’t care.
