Made a Mulan hand bag out of cotton fabric. Was a difficult project to say the least, I tried adding a satin lining in it, but my skills are not at the level yet. Also the zipper foot was confusing as heck. Like I flipped and turned that bad boy so many way yet it never made sense.

My new addition to the honeybee hive useful tools! I used to have my spools in a small bin and it’s so much easier when you can see what threads you already have rather than digging for them.

Project one: The satin Hoodies

So far my first projects have been adding fat and into peoples hoodies for them. I have done a total of 05 and with each project of doing one I have gotten a lot better at adding it in.

I struggled a lot at first I didn’t know what to say or where or how I was supposed to put things together and honestly it was overwhelming because I kept thinking what if I do it wrong.

I took a moment to breathe and got back started on it because it can be really overwhelming starting a new project for myself and wishing the best like I was anxious to start anxious to get the fabric and mess it up because what if I do it wrong with everything it’s just not cute ugly what if I hated what if I hate sewing. Those thoughts just kept running through my head.

But when I followed the tutorial everything fell into place and a lot of people seem to want one done for theirs.

The Inspo

All things stem from somewhere...

My inspiration to start sewing started from my love of the game Mabinogi by Nexon. If you knew how many outfits i wanted to wear because of that game. Even though I wanted those clothes in the game it wasn’t enough to inspire my desire to create them. I also wanted to be a class player one point but it was a lot of effort and it was nice to see the clothing and items on other people.

The second was my quest to find clothes that actually fit me. Are used to be heavy spender when it came to clothes and a lot of the time when things didn’t fit I just gave them away to my siblings. Although I bought a lot of clothing from pretty little thing and out of the 27 items I purchased only five of them fit and that caused me to send most of it back. Then it took them over a month to refund me so it made me stand on the position of not wanting to spend my money anywhere else to buy another piece of clothing. It kills me when I see really cute clothing items but for the most part if they’re not black owned or small business I try to stay away from it.

Third is because of Beyoncé, I adore her and would love to meet her. Now what that has to do with sewing, who knows. I have a project I’ll be doing that’s dedicated to her and I’m excited about getting started on it. I already found fabrics to start off I just need to keep working on my skills before revealing what it is.

Fourth is my love for small designers and seamstresses such as WithWendy(Instagram ) Pinkmoon(Twitter )and Atira Lyons(Twitter ) they have inspired me to begin creating my own brand of items that I am excited to see in the future,

So my goal with learning how to sew and put things together is that I want to wear large fantasy ball gowns.
