Poe really had set no goals to try and bring her over to the Resistance. As much as he disagreed with it, he still understood her reasoning and didn’t want to strain their relationship. And she’d made her allegiance very clear. So… this was a surprise to say the least. “I…I wasn’t trying to turn you… you know that right…this is your choice isn’t it?”
He smiled a bit though at her statement, “Force do I feel that right now…” he mumbled to her, hugging her back, resting his head on her shoulder. After fighting with Finn… hell he felt like bantha shit. And now that she was goign to meet BB… well shit.
“He… is staying somewhere else for a few days. Not sure how long it’s lasting but. You’ll be fine, “ he responded kissing her again briefly before pulling away, “So, make yourself at home.Or as much as you can I guess” he said, scratching the back of his head, glancing around.
“Of course it is...why wouldn’t it be my choice? Nobody realizes that they are in a bad situation until someone points it out, Poe.” She replied, sighing deeply as she covered her face to try and calm herself down. “I’m not trying to spy for the First Order if that’s what you think. I wouldn’t do that to you. It wouldn’t be right.”
He always was so good to her, even now that she was throwing a wrench in all of this. “I wish I would have realized it sooner. I’m sorry to do this to you.” Kylo was going to throw a fit once he found out, who knows what he may do. Her only hope was that Poe wouldn’t get caught in the crossfire.
She wanted to ask what was wrong but he seemed to not want to talk about it. Nodding to herself, she kissed him back before standing up and picking up her things. The woman fiddled with her saber, feeling a sense of guilt for wanting to leave the only family she had ever known but she knew it was for the better. “D-Do you have a drawer I can put my things in or some blankets so I can set myself up a bed?”
happybeepsbuddy·:
Her answer wasn’t what he expected. They had grown close for sure but- she had shown absolutely no hesitance in her choice to fight for the First Order before. No, she had made adamantly clear where her allegiance lied- and he had accepted that as a condition. He disagreed with her values… but her understood where she was coming from.
But now, here she was, defecting from the group she had called her family.
He bit his lip, watching her for a moment, listening to her talk about her decision. He nodded slightly at her words not sure what to say. He couldn’t make her feel worse about working with the first order, and he didn’t want to give her a recruitment speech- because that’s not what she needed right now.
He stood up off the bed, stopping her pacing, pressing a kiss to her lips briefly before pulling away, giving a small smile. He pushed some of her hair back, “I’m proud of you… for pulling yourself out of a situation you weren’t comfortable with… you know how hard that can be?” he asked, taking her hand, “You can stay here as long as you want.. I can figure something out to keep you hidden while you come to terms with things,” he added. He gave her a small smile.
“Things are going to work out- promise.”
“I feel like everything I’ve ever really known has been a lie, Poe. I don’t think anyone would care if I died or left. I’m just a pawn in their game and I played into it with the false sense of security they gave me with the Knights and Troopers. I was so deep in it that I believed it a-and then you....you came in and showed me that that is not how it should be...”
When he stopped her, all she could do was stare before he gave her a quick kiss to her lips. How was he so good at this? How did he know what she needed? Pulling him in close, she wrapped her arms around his waist and hugged him tightly. “I feel as though you’re the only one I can really trust now.”
His reassurance made her smile as she looked at him before glancing at her small bag of clothes. “Your roommate isn’t going to be upset with me being here, right? I don’t want to create any rifts.”
Mara’s eyes widened as Seylsa so very bluntly stated her concerns. If she had recently taken a sip, it may very well might have been spit out entirely. It was not every day that a person told it like it was, to Mara Jade’s face. This was going so differently than she’d planned, and it was exhilarating.
“One night in my bed, and you may be whistling a different tune.” She raised her brows playfully, but quickly changed the subject- realizing that now may not be the time for her snark. “My mind didn’t even remotely go there, but apparently yours did.” She laughed. “Listen, sit down. You’ve got the wrong idea entirely. I require your skills, and nothing else.” She motioned for another round for the the both of them.
“I need someone with your particular….gifts. I won’t be able to be all places, all the time when needed. You and I have a similar skillset, and I need you to be my eyes, and ears, and hands when there isn’t enough of me to go around. I don’t necessarily know why, entirely- but I strongly feel like I can trust you.” If Seylsa’s force defenses were down- she would be able to feel the honest intentions Mara was sending her way.
The woman chuckled, looking her over one more time with a smug grin. “I’ll let you think that...Most people who approach assume by my reputation to be willing for anyone and anything. I apologize for my behavior.” The woman sat back down as she was told but a soft laugh escaped her at the other’s choice of words. “Some people might consider it a skill.”
An eyebrow quirked at the statement. She didn’t know the woman and yet she was comparing them. How odd. “And what exactly do you need my eyes, ears and hands for? A scam? Murder? I’m not saying yes to anything until I know details.”
happybeepsbuddy·:
With a small smile, he watched her walk into the small fresher, then sat back on the bed, resting his elbows on his knees. She looked… desperate was a word for it. Nervous. Worried? Had something happened since they last met at the destroyed base?
He glanced over when she stepped out, silently taking her clothes from her, glancing up to try and meet her eyes. He wanted her to explain why she was here, soaking wet… not that he didn’t want her to come see him. Right now it was honestly helping. She anymore felt like one of the only people he could actually be honest with right now.
But that wasn’t important now that she needed to talk. He blinked a bit at her statement, hesitating. Was she…lying? That was something he was always concerned about…but. “You can stay here…while you figure it out…What happened that made you …” Defect? “Change you mind?”
The woman sat down on the bed next to him, unsure of where to even begin to explain to him all that was going on in her head. So much had happened since she met him and she had so much to explain. Goosebumps began to form on her skin as she thought about it more. She was nervous. Ari was never this nervous.
However, he deserved an explanation. Quietly, she leaned over and pecked his lips, caressing his cheek with her thumb. “It sounds super cliche but...you.” She confessed, her stomach doing complete flip flops after the words slipped from her mouth.
“Ever since I met you, you’ve made me....doubt my loyalties. Their methods...while they are effective, I always felt like a puppet after each mission. I never had a sense of individuality until you let me have some. I had some with my knights but...I was always Seylsa with them and with you, I get to be that girl from before all of this.” Ari stood up from the bed, tugging at the bottom of the shirt. “I mean there are other reasons but you’re my main reason.”
She was pacing around the room nervously now, biting her nails while her mind raced. Her mind always assumed the worst. Thoughts of him throwing her out for possibly lying to her, him throwing her away for no longer having a use to him, her making a huge mistake. “I haven’t formally left yet but...I wanted to talk to you about it.”

Finn had left. Argument went poorly and all. He didn’t blame him at all. No, he’d probably act the same way in his position. How had things gone so wrong so quickly? Either way… Poe had fallen asleep at some point fitfully. Nightmares plaguing and- he snapped a awake, hearing the door open
Poe hoped that it wan’t Finn back here. He really wasn’t in the mood to be yelled at more right now. Stepping over, he sighed, pulling open the door, “Look-I’m-” he cut himself off. Widened eyes stared back at Ari… She’d been outside clearly. In the rain. He bit his lip, stepping out of the way.
“Of course- Um… Is everything okay?” He asked her, watching her step inside with him. He grabbed one of his shirts from his bed, tossing it over, “You should change… you’re soaking.”
It was humiliating how she could turn into a shy girl around him. As she walked in, her eyes wandered around to capture the room around her as if to get more hints into his mind but Poe was a strange person. The shirt in her hands felt soft from being worn in and she could smell the pleasant smell of his detergent easily. It was comforting.
Quietly, she made her way to the restroom and changed into the shirt, holding her wet clothes in her hands. She would never walk around in just a shirt like this back on base but she was not going to spend all night in wet clothes. Ari placed her bag in his room on the bed before she handed him her wet clothes without a word.
No need to cut around what she wanted to say. “I’m leaving the First Order. But I’m not joining the resistance. I need to be on my own and formulate my own real opinion.”
jadedpersuasion·:
Mara couldn’t gauge from Seylsa’s reaction whether she knew who she was, or not. That could either be beneficial, or tank this whole thing. There was that teeny tiny little fact that Mara was now an outlaw, wanted by the first order for defecting. Would Seylsa be willing to aid and abet the enemy of her employers? Mara was a gambling woman, and was more than a little reckless these days.
“Trading, mostly.” Mara took the seat offered to her. “Maybe a little extra, if it suits me. And the crew.” She added, realizing she wasn’t alone anymore.
Seylsa was tough to read, and Mara respected that. She’d sought her out for a multitude of reasons, largely due to the fact that Seylsa reminded Mara of herself. She was known for her gifts of persuasion and espionage. There would be times when there wouldn’t be enough of Mara to go around, and Seylsa would be an excellent proxy for herself. There was something mysterious about the woman she sat next to, a secret behind her eyes- the likes of which Mara vowed to uncover, even if only for fun.
Whomever this woman was she seemed to have important plans in mind and judging by her choice of words, she had a reason for coming specifically to her. Her fingers ran around the edge of her glass as she studied the room, her eyes glancing to the bartender and the woman next to her. She wished she knew who the woman was since she definitely seemed to know who she was. That was annoying.
There could be a variety of reasons why she approached her: sex, a favor, information. The First Order loved to make sure that everyone knew of her talents, it made it easy to get free drinks. All Seylsa had to do was show a little skin but since meeting Poe, she had changed. She found herself much more quiet than normal and the way the First Order had treated her began to feel wrong.
“Trading, huh? You gonna continue with the bullshit or tell me the real reason you actually came up to me, dollface.” She commented, downing her drink as she stood up. Seylsa felt something was off about her. “If you’re looking for sex, I don’t swing that way.”
@happybeepsbuddy
The rain outside was only getting worse but luckily she was close to where she was going. However, her clothes suffered. Her long curls were drenched and she looked more like a wet cat than the fierce knight she typically was but whenever she was in front of him, the claws disappeared and she was her most complete self. That feeling was addicting and she was tired of hiding.
With a light knock on the door and some patience, the soaked woman was face to face with the man that had changed everything: Poe Dameron. Perfect curls and all, he was everything she could ever want even with his sleepy eyes and groggy voice. Her heart was caught in her throat and her stomach was doing flips just looking at him. She didn’t even realize that she was staring until he started talking.
“I know it’s late and I shouldn’t be here but...can I stay the night? I have some things that I wanted to talk to you about in person, not on the comm. So...can I come in, Poe?” Ari asked, staring at him while dripping wet from the rain.

Mara hadn’t been a big fan of the Knights of Ren. Most of them were arrogant, and and elitist…and downright pompous. She’d stayed out of their way during her tenure as first order minion, but now that it was all behind her- she was free to do what she wanted with WHO she wanted.
Surely, seeking out one of the knights at this point was playing with fire- but Mara had big plans. No one was going to hinder her ambitious goals. She’d sensed Seylsa’s rebellious spirit. Did that mean she could trust her with her life? Definitely not, but Mara had been known to gamble now and again.
Doing what she could to blend in to the crowd, Mara sought out her would-be companion in a cantina not often frequented by first order lackeys. It seemed Seylsa liked her privacy as well, perhaps harboring secrets of her own.
“You mind if I sit down?” Mara raised her brows at the knight, half hoping she’d recognize her- though it would be to her benefit as well if Seylsa didn’t. “I’ve come on friendly terms.” She raised her palms briefly to make her point. “I have a business proposition for you, unrelated to my former employers.”
Being a Knight of Ren meant people feared you when you walked into a room. It meant being powerful force user but Seylsa’s reputation as being different from her fellow Knights was well known. She was much more charming and seductive than the other Knights. The First Order loved that. They enjoyed her ability to manipulate others with ease but sometimes they took it too far and asked her to use much more than words to reach their goals.
Nightmares and flashbacks of her past kept her up on nights like tonight which lead her to the cantina for a drink or two. She itched to call Poe, even if just to hear his voice for a minute. She hated keeping him a secret when he was the only person who made her feel like an actual human and not a pawn in someone’s plan.
She wasn’t expecting to be approached that evening. Seylsa scoffed as the woman approached her, eyeing her over as if ready to throw a punch if needed. “Pleasure to meet you.” She nodded her head towards the seat next to her for the woman to sit next to her. “What business do you have?”
crimson-vos:
He watched the woman drop down from seemingly nowhere. These First Order lackeys were ones for theatrics which never ceased to amuse him. He jut mentally repeated to himself that they had the bigger pocket book and it was better to merely accept theatrics then let them go elsewhere. He gave her a returning smile as he nodded at her.
Accepting her offer he sat, seeing to his own drink as he looked about the place with feigned interest. He would have preferred his office but then he didn’t need their lot crawling about. Crossing a leg over the other he sipped the amber liquid admiring the flavor. “Yes they did I found it quite intriguing”, he answered her as he returned his attentions to her. “I believe we’re here to discuss the method of payment. I delivered the goods and seeing that there were no issues”, he shrugged as he set the glass down.
Seylsa chuckled at how forward he was with it all. Swirling her whiskey in her glass, she sipped it slowly before flashing another smile at him. “Of course. Your payment will be given to you after you leave here today but I have a purchase of my own to make.” She waved the guards away to the leave the two of them alone. Her eyes met his after another sip and she sat herself on her desk in front of him.
“I need explosives. A lot of them. Something that will definitely make an impact. But I need to know that you’ll keep this between the two of us. I’ll make sure you’re compensated well for this. My main inquiry is a ship. Something fast. I’m sure you can accomplish that, Dryden.”
happybeepsbuddy:
He thought he saw the good in her. No, he knew he saw it. How could a person so caring do the unspeakable? He knew her brother was a part, but it didn’t make sense. Poe could see her fitting in here. In reality it made more sense. But she had made clear where her place was. And Poe had accepted that.
Who did that make Poe? He agreed with her on some of her sentiments, specifically about the New Republic. But more, he understood where she was coming from. Not that Poe could pull himself away from the Resistance- but he questioned how he could help lead people if he was doing… this. But looking at Ari? Made him question that more. Why not just continue this?
Poe smiled a bit at the kiss, watching her. He shook his head, “Don’t worry about me, They won’t even know I was there,” he assured her. He heard a crash somewhere on the base, the reality of this catching up to him. He glanced away briefly, then back at her. Falling for him? He opened his mouth to speak, words escaping him. “Ari- no, wait.” he tried to catch her before pulling away, “I’m- you’re not…”Shit words. He huffed, stepping back into her space, kissing her, carefully grasping her arm to keep her in place.
Breaking the kiss, he let out a breath, looking at her, “I… the feelings mutual.” He bit his lip, looking away, hesitating a bit. He didn’t want to leave her. Not this close to tears- but the war never rests.
“There’s a back entrance. down the main hall take a left, 3rd door. Be careful… Promise me,” he locked his eyes with her own, “Just, please be safe.”
Ari was ready to run when he pulled her in for another kiss. This one was passionate; she could feel it burn her with intensity but Poe was still so gentle with him. Her hands moved to cup his face to hold him closer, she held the kiss a bit longer as if it might be the last. She wasn’t ready when he pulled away, a visible pout on her lips before she heard his reply.
Before she could even stop herself, she was kissing him again, holding him close to him. She smothered him with kisses until she pulled away and her lips felt a little swollen. Flashing a soft smile at him, she couldn’t help but feel relief that he felt the same. “Glad it’s not just me.”
He could be sending her straight to her death with his advice but she still felt like she could trust him. “Would I not be careful? Com me when you’re safe, Poe.” She replied, pecking his cheek before sneakily walking her way down the hall.
crimson-vos:
The First Order. How he loathe at times dealing with these imbeciles. If they didn’t have the credits he would never take a second glance at them but money was money and they had it. Despite their arsenal it was always nice they thought of his people to be of service and provide them with the more powerful weapons they would need. It still didn’t make dealing with these imbeciles any more entertaining especially given the current status of things. He was playing both sides at the moment and so treading cautiously was something he needed to do.
Of course they’d walked him through the detention area on his way to meet with his First Order client as if it would intimidate him. He had to keep his laughter at bay, did they not know who he was, who he had been? There was no doubt some of his Resistance clientele were in some of these cells which irritated him as that meant payment was delayed. He didn’t like to be kept waiting nor did he like it when deals weren’t kept.
Seylsa chuckled as the troopers waltz him through the detention area, watching from up high where she couldn’t be seen. Dryden Vos, the perfect weapon dealer and her supplier against the Resistance. Jumping down from her hiding spot, Seylsa flashed a smile at the man before setting her helmet down on the table in the room. She had to calculate her words carefully with him. He played both sides well but being confident in her words, she didn’t feel worried.
“Dryden...pleasure to see you. I see the boys took you on a scenic route. Please sit, have a drink.” She offered, pouring herself some whiskey. They had the perfect office set up next to the detention area. There would be times when she would come here just to escape it all. “Hopefully, you understand what I’ve invited you for.”
“ I don’t care! He wouldn’t be there if it weren’t for me! ”
“It’s not your fault! You don’t have to save everyone, Poe!” She yelled, the pebbles around her shaking. He was infuriating when he was like this. The man who felt the world on his shoulders, the man that had to save everyone. Perhaps it was Ari being selfish and never wanting anything to happen to him or maybe she was tired of him walking all over himself. He wanted to go rescue his comrade so desperately but the First Order headquarters were too dangerous.
“I’m not gonna watch you risk your life to save him! Call me selfish but I would much rather have you here than go save him.” Ari wiped away her tears, sniffling as she lightly hit his chest. “I know that I can’t change your mind but I hate how good of a person you are sometimes. Please stay.”

“Do you think manhood refers to the entirety of the male genitalia or just the uncircumcised penis?” Seylsa hiccuped, an uncontrollable giggle escaping her as she fiddled with her empty glass. Who knows how many she had at this point? She was even starting to forget who she was with. With another laugh, her eyes crinkled at the corners. “Fun fact….I….” she drunkenly points to herself, “Seylsa Ren, the powerful Knight, love bubble baths. It just feels like a warm hug.”
