Derek's a redstone guy 2 me. Hes very into Minecraft mechanics I Think he's actually a fairly new player. He learned about redstone and was like "wait thats awesome i gotta check it out" and the mechanics later and the world we see him playing on happens to be his first survival world. Imagine playing minecraft survival for the first time and you get fuckedddd ( ´Д｀)=3 imaginnneeeee bro. I dont think he even plays video games that much... he just plays shit like solitaire and this was his first video game....... bro..........

AVERY. Now avery is a chronic minecrafter chronic PVPer been playing since he was 10 and lovvvesss skywars. PVP is his favourite and modded stuff yknow yknow... i don't think he plays much survival either :p just hypixel lol

Ok. So. Ive always headcanoned that derek got a friend to make his skin for him. A friend who's really good at minecraft skins and offered. And he was like oh cool. Ok. Spartan would be cool and BAM cool. But i also think his skin is based on his dnd character and this is getting into level 3 headcanon territory. Uhm . YEAH ok. He met the friend at dnd and they offered and he asked for his dnd character as a minecraft skin ok. Cool.

Avery? His ass found a slime skin online, slapped a Hawaiian shirt he has irl on there and called it a day hell yeah. His skywars skin the orange one. Uhm. He has an alt skin for pvp and casual OR he was playing on his alt on skywars OR he has lots of slime skins and he likes switchihg.....

Happy au? Whats that i only know ANGST. After derek's death avery, despite being a bad building, started a forever world to honor his and derek's relationship, even if fleeting. He built them a house as if it were a multiplayer server they could have played ok together, two beds next to each other, chests seperated for each other. i wonder what would’ve happendd if derek’s laptop/computer/whatever continuity error he had overheated and crashed before he could ,, acquire (??? cantthink of a better word) the king.

maybe its how he died in another universe; the sheer agony of the migraine causing his blood pressure to raise, leaving him in medical shock. or his brain beginning to bleed as he no longer had something to mitigate his mind. maybe its how avery died, without the spell becoming interrupted by der to save both him, and the world. maybe a single mechanical malfunction would’ve ended everything. hmm hmmm idk i think this makes sense

so while altering a little action figure to look like d3r, i got the idea that if avery tried to recreate his minecraft skin in any way (art, clay, secret third thing idk) his depiction of him would slowly but surely distance itself from what the skin actually looked like. the gaps of his memory slowly growing, making the specifics of that new year feel so fuzzy to him. (and maybe some of it hurt to remember, to the point his brain hid those memories. idk man i am completely bullshitting here)

maybe it’d start with his cape switching sides, his helmet changing shape/his armor style changing in some way.

and although he’d still have the video to go back and check through (after all, he promised his recording wouldn’t leave derek forgotten) would he really want to? anyways if i finish the little d3rlord3 thing and i don’t think it looks like shit i migjt show it
