SG Studios created a lost ruin sculptural entryways in a high end custom homes. SG Studios, founded in 1996, is a pioneer in the themed attraction industry- developing unique processes to engineer a three-dimensional worlds.

We produce all the steps of the process from the complete conceptualization, design, fabrication to the installation of themed environments. We specialize in Concept Art, 3D Modeling, CAD, Miniature Models, Production Molds, Sculpting, FRP, Steel Armature, Positive Carving, Epoxy Sculpting, and utilize a variety of mediums to create products that will last.

“SWEET! CALIFORNIA’S TASTY JOURNEY” INTERACTIVE EXHIBIT

 SG Studios completed an interactive exhibit for an exposition called “Sweet! California’s Tasty Journey” that opened on July 27th of last year. 

Our sculptures exhibit was the main centerpiece for the 7,700-square-foot Sweets display for the 161st State Fair. The project was a huge success and it was so much fun to collaborate with other artists to shape this exhibit into the best it could be.  

The exhibit done by SG Studios was a 24’ tall interactive candy mountain sculpture called Big Rock Candy Mountain. Our team designed, completed 3D models, produced, constructed, transported, and installed the display. 

It was created as a part of a larger interactive exhibit on the history of sugar and sweets, particularly in California. The exhibit was covered with every type of goodie imaginable and was engineered to be interactive with moving parts, pushable buttons and lights that flashed. 

It taught the history of candy in a fun, approachable way. After the state fair was over the exhibit traveled all over the U.S. and taught many people of all ages about the history of candy.

Rustic Downtown Themed Installation

The SG Studios environment that we have created takes the viewer back in time to historical Durham NC where booming tobacco industry thrived.  The key elements that lend themselves to nostalgia would be the aged brick buildings, steel piping and tubing, aged concrete and rusted metal bolts as well as the old train station murals and signage that offer a moment back in time to exciting old down town Durham.  

This children’s interactive environment complete with friendly trees and an actual park bench for awaiting the arrival of the train adds ambiance to this historical train depot setting and offers children the fun and imagination for them to discover historical highlights of the famous downtown.  

The large tree that is adjacent from the child size clubhouse is a favorite for listening to stories read from the large cut out seat area within the wide trunk of the tree where children gather around and listen to stories. All of this theming adds to the imagination and experience that SG Studios Inc signature offers in its creations.

DYLAN’S CANDY BAR

SG Studios’ diversity of style and skill were demonstrated through the design and construction of several large 10-foot fiberglass candy cane’s for the world famous Dylan’s Candy Bar in New York City. The 10’ candy canes are used to enhance a whimsical feel to the interior displays.

Dylan’s Candy Bar was opened by Dylan Lauren, Ralph Lauren’s daughter. Below is a description from their website on how Dylan’s Candy Bar was founded and Dylan’s vision for it.“Dylan’s dream of combining a love of candy and a passion for art became a reality in 2001, when the first Dylan’s Candy Bar, located in New York City, opened for business. 

Dylan was so awed by the candy land of Willy Wonka’s factory that it inspired her dream to one day open a candy store. Dylan also has a great passion for art, which she cultivated during her college junior year abroad in London and Rome. Dylan loved the rich art history of the beautiful European capitals, but she also loved discovering and tasting new candies, and admired how artistically they were wrapped.”

We are grateful for this great opportunity and enjoyed the design and fabrication process for this one of a kind candy bar installation. Making the candy bar feel like Willy Wonka’s factory was a blast!
