You couldn't sleep so you decided to go wander and look around in the woods. It was darker than normal outside. Looking up you realized there was no moon in the sky, it was a new moon tonight. Not to far in you found a clearing. And sitting in it was Astoria and a woman and they were surrounded by candles forming a circle around them.
The woman had long black hair, dark eyes, and was wearing a dress that looked like it could've been made out of rags. Her face seemed like it usually had a permanent frown but she currently had a tiny smile while talking to Astoria. Astoria had her own small smile, her hair was in a neat looking bob that brushed her shoulders and hung in her face and she was wearing a black night gown with white ribbon at the top and bottom and black fingerless gloves with small white stars that went up slightly past her elbows. They also had matching flower crowns made out of black roses with daisies mixed in.
They were talking quietly between them and using a tarot deck. It seemed like the woman was teaching Astoria. And Astoria seemed very content and happy to listen to the woman tell her things. Astoria also had a bat laying on her head and a wolf coiled around her with its head laying in her lap while the woman had a raccoon coiled up next to her, a crow on top of her head and a hellhound puppy sitting contently on her lap. There were also dozens and dozens of moths flying all around the clearing.

Star approached quietly, lingering a good distance behind and trying to see what they were doing without looking creepy. She willed the dancing lights around her to stick close and still slightly, and, to her surprise, they listened. In her short time at camp, she had seen Astoria around, but she didn't know this woman.
(on Monday)
Starfall shuffles into the diner, looking around until she spots Miss Holloway, giving a wave and moving to sit down.
-- @sh00ting-starlight
[Holloway waves back.]
Just need to finish up these last tables hun. Want anything while you wait?
She nods. "Uh... A slice of cherry pie?"
Coming right up.
She nods again and waits for Miss Holloway to finish what she's doing.
[Holloway passes her a slice of pie. About 30 minutes later, she gestures for the girl to follow her back to her office.]
Star sets aside her empty plate and follows her, looking around at the room.
Starfall is speeding down a hallway at Hatchetfield High when she crashes straight into Ashton. Instead of saying anything, she just panics and tries to stand up as fast as possible.

[ The slightly drowsy Nachtview boy had been looking over his drawings and blasting a strictly Green Day incorporated playlist into his headphones while slowly walking down one of the highschool's corridors, his glasses sliding down without a care as he never bothered to look up to see Star dashing in his direction at full-speed. Needless to say, he was immediately winded at the impact— falling on his ass and dropping everything like a dumbass. It took a few moments for Ash to process anything. . and shout at Star once he did so.]
' H — Hey , what the fuck man ? ! . . What the hell is wrong with these fuckers . . ' 𖤐
[ He pushed his glasses fully up after they almost fell off and slowly started to gather his things, murmuring and glaring at the panicked teen.]
She stares blankly at him for a few moments, her panic suddenly fading. "Oh- Uh, crap, I'm sorry!"
[ The teen pinched the bridge of his nose while picking his sketchbook up, then his phone. . And a few pens that fell out of his pocket. He looked less pissed about Star running into him and more frustrated about the fallen things but his voice reflected the situation and attention-stealing subject differently. He struggled for a few seconds before finally getting to his feet and fixed his glasses. Ash then looked to the other, sighing simply enough.]
' Fuckin' . . Better be . It's — it's fine . . What are you in a hurry for anyway ? ! That was like . . That was the speed of a damn bullet train right there . . ' 𖤐
Her shoulders tense up.
"Uh, just needed to get away from things, y'know? Like, normal things, because I have very normal problems."
' . . . And it was that urgent ? Damn . . Was that Jager-fuck chasing you down or somethin' ? '
[ He laughed slighlty, before shuddering at the thought of that guy and messing around with the volume of his music for a second.]
' Well , chase or not . . Watch where you're going man . . . I'm gonna be late for my study hall 'cus of this . . ' 𖤐
Star bristled at the reminder of Max Jagerman's existence. As if she didn't have enough to worry about without that jerk around.
"...Thankfully, that's not it. I, uh, I'll be more careful." She moved to walk away, but stopped. "Oh, uh, this is overdue, but are you okay?"
[ The boy was half distracted by the time he finished his own statement, sloppily fixing his hoodie strings with one hand and fidgeting with his things using the other. He stepped back before being put to a halt by the add-on.]
' Cool , cool . . 'Kay . . . Oh — shit uh , yeah . Other than my quite busted ass and lateness , I'm greeaat . . ' 𖤐
[ He dragged his words out with a more obvious hint of sarcasm, exhaling sharply in the other's direction.]
There was a beat of awkward silence as Starfall tried to think of some way to salvage the situation, or at least end it without feeling like a jerk. Again.
"Well, you have a good reason to be missing class, at least..."
[ Ash shot a blank stare at Star, waiting for any hint of continuing the conversation before he just walked off. He thought they were free before the silence ended, causing a small sigh to come out subconsciously as he listened in. He rolled their eyes and puffed his cheeks a little before making their own remark.]
' Well , it's not like I have the best situation going here . . What's your little reason anyway , I mean— if you're not being hunted down for sport ? ' 𖤐
[ He shrugged during their little question. . Dramatically, in a sense.]
She tenses up again.
"It's stupid. You wouldn't even believe me." She looks up slightly, still not quite making eye contact.
"Do you want a better reason to be missing class?"
[He stammered in a moment of interruption, tapping at his book frantically.]
' Well— WELL . . Uh , nothing's stupid if it's causing a scene like that . So shoot ! '
[The boy then gave a more blank looking stare, tilting his head to look at the other in his confused state, giving a wonky looking grin after the little question.]
' . . Nah , I think busting my ass 'cus of a little snot is a good enough case . ' 𖤐
"Telling me my excuse isn't stupid when you don't even know it, then following that up with calling me a little snot? I'm getting mixed signals here, man." She laughs nervously, clearly not used to joking around like that.
"Well, here it is. I turned invisible in Algebra class." She grins, expecting him to take this as a bald-faced lie.
' Well . . . Mixed signals are my thing — My sole gimmick . . Also , nicknames are a good sign man ! It's all part of my grind . '
[ He tapped at his sketchbook, holding back an awful chuckle. He held that blank look from earlier to the teen, raising a brow before a grin rose from his face.]
' Oh yeah ? I can do that too . It's called sneaking outta the room because of those loser privileges . You seem like the type to have those . ' 𖤐
[ They shrugged simply enough, thinking his remark was some sort of joke. . Some funny little statement.]
She shrugs. "I would probably be offended by that if it wasn't both true and obvious."
"Also, I think this has turned into an actual conversation, so I should probably get your name or something."
' Hah , glad I could point out the obvious and not get my ass kicked for it ! . . '
[ The boy snorted and covered his mouth right after, embarassment taking hold for but a moment.]
' Right , right uh . . Conversation stuff . I'm uh . . Ash — Nachtview . ' 𖤐
[ He gave a small crooked smile and went quiet.]
She nods.
"I'm Star. Aria." She pauses, and her smile drops a little.
"Crap, should I let you get to class? I mean, I'm not going back, but you seemed pretty ticked about me making you late, and I still am."
' Star ? ? Aria ? ! That's kickass dude . . That's nerdy but also I'm considered a nerd so . . Wow . '
[They slightly leaned against the wall for the time being, shrugging and shaking his head.]
' You know what , Study hall is a useless class to me right now . I can skip and make a friend or two . . I'm gonna get my ass beat for it but , aaayy — friendship ! ' 𖤐
[With a half free hand, they made a finger gun to go with his last spoken word.]
She half-grins.
"Thanks, man. For the compliment, and for thinking I'm worth skipping for." She pauses. "Seriously, though, do you need a good excuse to skip? Because I can try my hardest to give you one."
Starfall is speeding down a hallway at Hatchetfield High when she crashes straight into Ashton. Instead of saying anything, she just panics and tries to stand up as fast as possible.

Just need to finish up these last tables hun. Want anything while you wait?
She nods. "Uh... A slice of cherry pie?"
Starfall shuffles into the diner, sitting down with some papers and a pencil. It's as good a place to finish her homework as any. She's never been, but she's heard good things. Maybe she should get something.
"...Hi, can I have a menu?"
-- @sh00ting-starlight
Course hun.
[Holloway hands her an over-sized menu.]
Let me know if you have any questions.
Starfall takes the menu, setting it aside before going to pick up her pencil again.
"Wait, wasn't it just-" She freezes. The pencil is gone. Surely she just misplaced it. But after a few moments of looking around, she doesn't see where else she could have put it. A slighly panicked expression comes over her face. "Not again..."
Something wrong Hun?
"Nothing, it's fine," she responds quickly. "Uh... Do you have a pencil or pen on hand?"
Course.
[She passes over the pen.]
Anything to drink?
Star takes the pen and sets it down in front of her.
"Just a water is fine," she says, not taking her eyes off the pen or her papers.
Coming right up.
Starfall nods, turning her attention to the menu she had set aside. She looked it over, eyes worriedly flicking back to her things every few seconds.
"Uh... Can I also get a slice of cherry pie?"
Coming right up hun.
She nods again, picking up her pencil and fiddling with it as she stares blankly at the paper she's supposed to be working on.
"...Hey, I've got a weird question." She continues looking down. "Do you believe in, like, magic, or supernatural stuff, or anything like that? Just, uh, just out of curiosity, it's... it's an interesting subject."
I don't think anyone living in Hatchetfield can say they don't.
[She passes over the pie.]
Seen anything interesting recently?
"...In a way? Things have just been... weird lately." She takes a bite of the pie. "This is really good, by the way."
Why thank you hun. What sort of weird are we talking?
"Uh... I don't know." She hesitates. "Well, for starters, my pencil was right there when I first sat down." She points to an empty spot on the table. "Not that weird, I know. People lose stuff all the time. I probably sound crazy or something."
Pausing for another moment, she adds on. "That's not the only thing. It's just... another one, I guess."
When the little things start piling up, they can be hard to ignore. What else have you seen?
Star is surprised by how attentive the woman is being to her concerns. She hadn't expected to be taken seriously.
"Well..." She lets herself give it some thought. "Stuff disappearing. Little stuff. That started up pretty recently. I think the biggest thing so far has been a stuffed animal that my dad wanted to sell, but still, I've kinda been trying to stay away from valuables. I don't know if it's something about the objects or something about me or what. I don't know where they go."
"And... I'm too good at hiding."
What do you mean "too good*?
She shrugs. "I mean... It's not very hard for me to stay out of sight. If it's just a little shadowy it's like people look right through me. If I want them to."
Hm. Not necessarily the worst ability to have. Assuming it only happens when you want it to.
"...The problem is, what I want isn't always what I want, y'know?" She takes a sip of her water.
I see...you struggle with controlling it.
She nods.
"I guess so."
You need any help with that?
She looks up, startled.
"...You could help?"
Of course.
[Holloway smiles, a fork subtley floating right above the others.]
She reels back a little.
"Woah- Uh, yeah, sure looks like you can."
[Holloway winks, the fork floating back down.]
"How would you go about helping me, anyways?"
I could train you. Teach you how to manage your gift.
"Okay, sure," she says decisively and almost immediately. "If you're okay with teaching me... Let's do it."
I absolutely am. When do you have free time?
"Hm..." She paused and takes another sip of water. "After school, most days." She'd just say she was staying after to do homework, or something.
How's Monday sound for ya?
She thinks for a moment, mentally running through her schedule. "That's perfect."
I'll see you on Monday then?
"Sounds good."
Starfall shuffles into the diner, sitting down with some papers and a pencil. It's as good a place to finish her homework as any. She's never been, but she's heard good things. Maybe she should get something.

Starfall shuffles into the diner, sitting down with some papers and a pencil. It's as good a place to finish her homework as any. She's never been, but she's heard good things. Maybe she should get something.

Starfall shuffles into the diner, sitting down with some papers and a pencil. It's as good a place to finish her homework as any. She's never been, but she's heard good things. Maybe she should get something.
