This blog has gotten a lot bigger over the years, especially since I became a little more active so have a little intro post.

Hi, you guys can call me Shadow!

And this is my Zelda specific blog! Here I genuinely like to gush about my love and adoration for this series that changed my life forever.

I mostly reblog some stuff here and there. Post some fan art from time. Or as of recent decided to write/rewrite some fanfics as well.

I also post random game progress from time to time about one of the games I am replaying or am playing for the first time. So get ready for some random facts I will spew about the games.

I've also read Akira Himekawa's Zelda Manga so I'm also gonna talk about them from time to time.

I'm open for conversions in English and German and I'm comfortable with both languages.

I will also give fun facts about the games and their German translations as they are often surprisingly different from the English translation at times.

Triviavember Day 4!

Yesterday’s answer: Tears of the Kingdom, Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword. In the Wii version of TP (fully canon!), Link uses his sword with his right arm. This was done to help with motion controls.

soooo uh a lot of people were confused on yesterday’s answer. personally, i believe that Twilight Princess counts as an answer because there is a canon version of the game where Link is 100% right handed, but please don’t come after me if you have a different idea/belief. 💗

My biggest struggle is having zelink as my otp and my notp at the same time is like: Yea I like zelink- no, no- no that one. YESS THEY ARE SOO SOULM- Nevermind not that one, no I wasn’t talking about romantic- oh hell no get that TP zelink out of my face, omg skyward sword zelink are sooo in lov- yes algorithm I liked that one zelink post BUT I DONT WANT THAT OTHER ZELINK.

Fuck, why they reincarcerate so many times.

Okay let's see if I still have the correct order in my head on how I played the games.

Games I have played: OoT (3DS), TP (Wii), ALBW, MM (3DS), PH, HW (Legends), BotW, Cadence of Hyrule (if that counts),SS, ST, LA (Switch), TotK, EoW

Games I sorta played but only a little (I know almost everything about them tho/or watched an LP): TFH, WW, ALttP, LoZ, MC

Games I haven't played and I know the basics of: AoL, FS, FSA and both Oracle games (heck I'll even throw in the Tingle spin-offs)

Manga I've read: All of them. Like legit. All. (That are made by Akira Himekawa at least and one bonus comic on ALttP by Shotaro Ishinomori. I also know the existence of other manga that never got localized)

(And I do plan on playing some of the games that I haven't done so yet)

My sister came back from her Japan vacation recently and she brought me back a few trinkets from the Nintendo store in Osaka.

I'll post some pictures once I'm home again, but I love the things she brought so much.

She asked me if I wanted a little something from the store and I looked up what they have (compared to the European Nintendo stores) and I immediately fell in love with the Zelda fairy glass as well as the little Lon Lon milk keychain. And I expected her to bring back one of them but not both X3

I won't start regular posting about this game yet as I still have one week of horrors ahead of me, but I got a little downtime today and I wanted to let off some steam by playing the first few parts of this game.

As stated before there won't be a lot of English to German comparisons with this one but there is one thing I know for certain.

Translation:

Lady: These people are annoying me! It's always Minish, Minish.

From what I know in the English translation Hylians call Minish by "Picori" which comes directly from the Japanese where their name is ピッコル (Pikkoru). But by their own folk they are still calling each other "Minish".

So in the English version they are given two separate names. One used by Hylians and one by themselves.

This doesn't apply to the German translation. As both Hylians and the Minish themselves call them by their name "Minish".

I never understood why they decided to go with two separate names for them in the first place.

Alright! So sorry for all this radio silence. But mother's day is creeping closer an anyone who works or has worked as a florist knows that it is a living hell.

Once mother's day is over it's smooth sailing.

But. Guess what I managed to get my hands on :3

Once I'm done with Spirit Tracks it's time for Minish Cap!!!

And as a bonus I get to give German fun facts again!

As I'm certain like with ST, not many know the German translation of this game.

I will say that this will be a semi blind play through for me as I only watched an LP of this game years ago. And read the manga. So I know the story. I know some dungeons and locations and I know some gameplay elements. But I don't remember all of it.

So unlike with the OoT play through and similar to the ST one, I won't be able to give some English to German translation comparisons as I don't know nearly enough of the English version of this game.

There are a few things I know here and there. But not nearly as many as I did with OoT.

It would appear that I have to correct myself on a statement.

Because it would seem that apparently you can play the German version of The Minish Cap on the Switch! Which as far as I am aware, wasn't an option back when they announced the GameBoy Advanced ports for the Switch.

I distinctively remember I could only play the English version.

Well doesn't matter. I was struggling a little with the Switch controls anyways so playing the game on real GameBoy hardware feels better anyways.

One of the original concepts for the Zelda that would become Breath of the Wild was an alien invasion set in a modern Hyrule. Link in a hoodie on a bike and Ganondorf wearing a t-shirt are things that actually exist in actual official Nintendo concept art.

OMG how could I have almost missed this! And I didn't draw or prepare anything for this!!

Small sneak peek but I finally got a coherent design for my OG Zelda done.

(Some further rambles under the cut)

Her design was always going to be mainly inspired by Skyward Sword Zelda.

Not only her normal everyday outfit but also her secondary outfit. It also kinda works under the same rule that SS Zelda did.

Starting off with a regular more colorful attire and then moving on to the more goddess/princess inspired design.

Her second design needs some more refining but her second design is like a mix of SS and OoT Zelda.

I'm just a sucker for that classic white/pink design that most Zeldas have and I really wanted to use it in this one as well.

I'm still thinking about what kind of title/name she could be given. Ya know the whole thing that started with the LU fanbase and how every Link and Zelda was given a special name based on their titles or general vibes.

Going with titles her name should be Time but yeah I can't do that now can I >ω<

Since we already have someone with that name.

My second guess would be that her name could just be Sage. A title very fitting given her other role in the story. And I figured her Link could carry the name of Magic or Mage as his hero name will be Hero of Magic. Also for very obvious reasons.

While working on the basic idea and concept for my OG Zelda story (currently dubbed the "eye of truth" project. Not sure if I will keep the name or if it will change in the near future) I played around with the idea of having the Fierce Deity play some kind of role in it.

Back when I was just throwing out character ideas (with no plot going on at all at the time being) I made a character based on the FD who was meant to be some kind of mortal incarnation vessel who lost his memories of being the Fierce Deity.

I had some kind of concept planned with some kind of crystals that were meant to help with his memory.

But as the years went on and I started to actually flesh out the story. I decided to drop this character all together.

There are in fact two more characters that I dropped and maybe I'll get into some BTS stuff about this story and how it came to be once I start posting more about it.

The FD character just didn't fit anymore. Even with this story having borrowed many elements from OoT and even MM.

But part of me still wants to kinda include him? Maybe not as a reoccurring character relevant to the plot. But more as a cameo of sorts?

Idk, maybe I'll think about it again.
