I'm a problematic writer that likes to write dark fiction work. Feel free to browse these main topics to get to know me a bet better! Though I write about heavy subject matter, I honestly don't bite.
Computer died... Both the one I got recently, plus my old one. Both suddenly have hardware issues and I find the timing rather bad since I had other financial issues I was working on. I do have yet another back up laptop but it's got Windows 8 if I not mistaken. Short of checking messages and sending emails, I won't be able to do much until I can get a new desktop. I don't feel like sinking anymore money in either of the current computers since the new desktop was clearly made with inferior hardware products and the other is just too old it isn't worth it to keep it going since it's 7 years old. I will say never buy any computer from Walmart. Needless to say, don't plan on any more videos or anything labor intensive projects that need something outside of a word processor. I legit can't run it at the current point in time. Will likely just focusing on my writing until I get an idea of buying another proper desktop.
Okay for those who are unaware, Discord is rolling out a provision in their terms come March 2026, that in order to access "adult" oriented servers you will have to upload a government ID and other personal information to gain access to these places. This comes on the heels of Britain's Online Safety Act in that fucking pissant frog is forcing American companies to make websites and social media conglomerates to use the same thing and basically track what you do online in the name of "protecting the kids" when they are actually using it to monitor what people do online and sanction them accordingly. Keirmer Starmer is a fucking dickless cock sucker that stands by while his own constituents are raped and murdered. The fact his idiotic actions are affecting American businesses trying to push this ideology is mortifying. Just because the English don't believe in free speech doesn't mean you can piss all over our Constitution. You and people that think like you can all go fuck yourselves.
Regardless of where you stand on the political aisle, I would seriously reconsider just submitting to this type of disclosure and these pushes for "self doxing" in that whatever you do online will be monitored by government agencies. Discord had a leak a few months ago and back then they "swore", they did not keep data but clearly they were. I value my internet privacy and will be dropping Discord when this change is implemented and using Zulip for the time being until another acceptable "Discord" replacement becomes available.
Tumblr is still the best way to contact me outside of AO3 and Twitter/X. I will give the link to my new channel when I get the site running and I do urge others to stop using Discord or going along with their policies. It sets a dangerous precedent and regardless of you think, censorship in any capacity is horrible and you absolutely should fight against it.
Chapter 13 Breakdown: Watching the Hero Become the Villain.
Sorry this took a while to come out, I have had the script done for a while but never the time to work on the video side of things. I will be going over the three sub stories and explaining why Roamer was effectively ruined this chapter.
Chapter 14's script is also done for the most part, but I am projecting that will be a 2.5 hour video if my word count is anything to go by. Feel free to comment or give feedback.
Problematic people on the internet, who’d have thought. So first of all, this is supposed to be the final edition of the document I was put
Okay this is a tough one for a myriad of reasons. Let me state now I'm not an attorney or versed in how copyright might apply to this situation. Honestly it would be best to go to someone versed in the subject, but I'll still give my opinion. I'll include the link of the Google Doc if anyone wants to read the entire thing for yourself to come to your own conclusions.
The first thing that should be a given that if someone blocks you, assume it was for a reason and they don't want to interact with you. Hell, I found out I'm on a blacklist myself even though I haven't directly talked to said person. They have made it clear that they will not do any artwork for me and ask other people to not give me their designs. As much as I want to know what I did, I likely won't learn the reason and whatever, there are plenty of people that would be willing to work with me and want my money if I offer it. I don't know how old DarkSavannaKing (DSK) is, but I have a feeling that she should be old enough understand this concept.
The Apology from DSK:
I don't think it was genuine nor do I think she understands the gravity of what she did. Yes she did admit the mistake, but trying to minimize what was done by trying to deflect by saying that she is from a "traditional country" and she didn't understand the online space and chocked it up as "only admiring" the artwork. That really doesn't cut it with me because I do believe that the artist Weirdlioness(WL) kinda made her feelings clear and DSK kept pushing her luck. I don't understand why burner accounts were created and she seemed to stalk WL and her artwork for 3 years and not have come to the conclusion she was going too fucking far. That's a new one for me. There are plenty of other The Lion King (TLK) artists to go off of due to the size of the community and this is just bad behavior all around. WL not accepting this apology is completely understandable.
Reselling:
What also doesn't help matters is that DSK appears to be a reseller, which makes the whole affair bizarre. It is one thing that you like an artist and want to keep a character or design from them, but DSK went out of her way to harass WL and flip the characters for monetary gain, notably on Toyhouse. While I do have a Toyhouse account, I don't use it because I find the website confusing and just not user friendly to me. I'm pretty old school, and I went from using actual websites to create a character bio or used a site called RP Repository. Not sure if that site still gets a lot of traffic these days because of the convince with Discord, but that has always been my go to site when I was heavily RPing at the time.
When it comes to Toyhouse, there is also the feature which has bugged me to no end. The ability to transfer complete characters to a different user. My personal thoughts that this feature allows people the ability to just pass characters around like currency. I've seen instances of a character going through so many owners in a short period and the site, and how it was built encourages this practice. When you have to manually build a site for a character instead of shoving it in a folder collection, I guarantee you will think twice about hording character designs or if you want to keep them. I'm not saying that someone can't use 20+ characters for their use, but it just encourages that type of behavior.
ToS/Blacklist:
Here is the part that I was struggling with though: the concept of ToS/Blacklists when it comes to selling adopts and designs. I understand the reason why an artist makes them, there could be a wide variety of reasons including issues with other users, bad experiences, copyright, the scope of uses (IE not using their art for commercial use), retaining credits, etc.
The thing about this - and this comes from a consumer standpoint, once you give a character concept over to an individual, you should also understand that it is out of your control, even if you have a ToS listed. As detailed or simple as it is, the buyer is under no obligation to honor your ToS unless you have it signed or something along those lines. As long as the buyer isn't doing something serious like trying to claim copyright of the character or something else serious, it is best to assume that you have no more say in the matter with reselling and what a customer does as far as using it for their personal use. This is just something that comes with the territory when you make adopts versus doing a commission in my opinion. Yes make your ToS as clear as possible and those who don't follow absolutely absolutely shouId be punished but again, it's just very hard to enforce. I found out this year with the DARPG that Kique runs apparently you have to get permission to 'transfer' the design or void it from his registry. That is wild to me, because there is no way in HELL I would allow someone to dictate what I do with my character. I don't give a damn who the artist is and their ToS be damned.
What throws a wrench in this is that DSK knew that she was blacklisted and even still went to WL to deliberately resell her designs. I can certainly understand why WL would be upset and it looks like Toyhouse staff were alerted to this behavior and actually got involved in this situation. It honestly was surprising to me but at least they are willing to stand up for artists and enforce policies. I would not expect this to happen with other websites or other situations though. At the end of the day, it's not the site owners responsibility to enforce disputes of this nature. From the document, I see that WL isn't the only person that DSK was doing this to, which does at least show a pattern of behavior.
Copyright Infringement and Tracing:
Writing this on mobile and most likely will update as I find more stuff. TRACING: We all know DSK uses TLK screenshots and assets for her
This was also a bit of a tough one as well but as I was writing this section, it looks like DSK is doing something called "Frankentracing" which makes why when I was looking at WL's complaint at first, I thought that she was jumping the gun. However, the evidence for tracing is much more clear so I understand where WL is coming from now. I've stated this before, but tracing itself isn't a big thing for me unless money is getting involved. When you cross over in that territory, that's when you open yourself up to scrutiny and potential issues. When I read The Order of the Dragon, the character Vlad did look remarkably like Scar to me at the time. I thought it was a stylistic choice so I didn't give it much thought, but seeing the Frankentrace document… well when you see it once, you question everything. What also is not helping DSK is that even her comics premises are direct 'lifts' from previously established stories such as Dracula and Mad Max Fury. Because of that, I have to wonder exactly how much of her gallery is 'hers' versus what was lifted from Disney, other IPs or other TLK artists themselves. Outside of actual Disney screenshots, the linearts from other artists are not direct copies, but it's still close enough and then you have to look at the dates that the two pictures were posted. I should also note that DSK doesn't seem to have a 'scrap' collection nor did I see any WIP in her gallery so that also doesn't help her case.
Inspirational Characters:
I've stated this before with Kique and the bullshit that he's trying to do with Zirvasity, that color pallets shouldn't be a reason to copyright a character in any capacity. I still do hold onto that line of thinking, but here again, I do have to side with WL on this because of the admitting stalking behavior on DSK's part. While the characters are not a 1 for 1 copy, the fact that the original piece and was always uploaded before DSK does show intent. Whether it is malicious or not can be up to you to decide. I do find that it leaves a bad taste in my mouth looking at the original and then DSK's characters. They are not the same on a literal capacity no, but I can see why the artist would be uncomfortable and feel the way that they do. I also have to wonder if DSK is actually capable of creating original concepts.
Conclusion:
Since I don't know how old DSK is, I'll just say that she should probably avoid TLK fandom for a while if not get out of it completely. It does appear that she has created bad blood within the community and I think because she was such a big named artist, this was the reason why it took so long for these accusations to come out. I have to side with WL and others, DSK is doing some pretty alarming behaviors over artwork. The reselling and avoiding blacklists kinda hints to a deeper problem that she should be speaking to someone about. From what I saw, she doesn't have the best people skills and I suspect she will loose a lot of support via DA and on her Patreon as more people learn about these details. The documents are still being updated and I am sure more information will come out. Honestly I wish WL and the others well and hope they can get the peace of mind that they deserve.
This is the easier topic to tackle with your concern with The Wrath of the Dragon (TWotD). I did look it over and there are a few things that stuck out to me. Please note that this post only covers strictly the comic itself and not the author, or the things that she has done to others or accused of the document that you sent me. I'll make a post about that later because I'm mulling out I want to respond to that entire affair. It's a pretty unique case, especially if you want to talk about copyright and copying/referencing other creator's work.
Now for this comic itself, your initial assessment of it likely being a kink? Yes, I do believe you are correct in that regard. From what I saw, DSK (DarkSavannaKing) was fairly clear about that in the warnings for this comic.
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but one of the issues with The Dragon Slayer by SleepSundae was that the warnings for violence, rape, abuse, etc were not initially listed when the comic first got posted. There are a few things that you can get away with not listing for the sake of hiding spoilers, but because of the nature of the topics in question, you absolutely should always cover your bases and mention it at the beginning because said topics are extremely upsetting for readers for obvious reasons.
I think DSK gave plenty of warning, so they at least show that have some level of awareness on her part. Having said that, after looking at TWofD and I actually read The Order of the Dragon (TOotF) these stories are unusually extreme with the type of content that DSK writes about. I would even call it overkill, if I'm personally honest with you and I am pretty up there when it comes to uncomfortable topics. What it looks like to me is she is just using old stories (Dracula and Mad Max Fury) and just changing the characters to lions. I personally find this extremely lazy and uninspiring. This is the same thing that Kique did with Asmundr. The fact that DSK also has a Patreon while doing said comic is also something that I would never encourage anyone to do because you are coming close to copyrighting the original work in question and that is a headache and rabbit hole that no one should go down.
Having said all of that though, I have to remain neutral in this, for the same reason about Kique and that YCH Ghoul NSFW that was spoken about. It's not my place to judge anyone for what they create or write about as long as we both understand that it is purely fictional. I don't really want to boil it down to 'don't like, don't read' either. There at many reasons why an author creates what they do and while we, the audience might not understand or agree with it, they have the right to make it. You are always welcome to criticize or be disgusted by it (and that's not what I want to imply in any capacity), because even I have some lines I won't cross. But understand that when you start wanting to play 'morality police', that's when things go off the rail fast.
I'm not sure if you realize why AO3 came into existence. Fanfiction.net was actually the go-to site way back in early 2000's, I was on the site myself back then, but because there were people upset by the content that some authors wrote about, the stories were purged, people were hunted down and called all kinds of vile names, doxed, harassed… I think you get the idea. While that might sound fine on the surface, what this does is stifle creativity and acts as a means of censorship and push people to think a certain way which is dangerous. You are seeing this happen in real time with the UK's Online Safety Act, and groups like Collective Shout that made it their mission to harm those creators on Steam and Itch.io, and similar laws that are trying to use "protect the kids" to spy on what you are doing. You do not want more draconian laws like this being passed on the internet or anywhere. Once you start censoring one thing, it only creates a justification to censor other things, and never will stop.
I know this because I get this type of treatment with some of the shit I write about in the fandoms that I'm in. Kinda why I actually left one because of this 'perception' that they've made of me. I've also seen people just stop writing, or forced to leave their social media. You would be shocked the way people behave when they just convince themselves they are 'right'. I've never tried to hide the content of my stories, and I don't want to. I will stand by everything that I've ever written now and in the future. But make no mistake I know the themes I use are not for everyone, and I accept the consequences of this.
What I really mean to say is we might not understand it, but creators should have the right to post what they do at the end of the day. Also, don't throw harmful terms around like saying a lolicon is a pedo, a non con writer is a rapist, and yes I have to even say zoophillia when it comes to Kique. Don't get me wrong, I still am utterly baffled by what he does and can't understand why he would say a dog is evolved enough to have a human penis but not evolved to have thumbs… but I just ask you exercise caution and just keep what I said in mind. I hate that there are terms that have been watered down because people keep using them incorrectly and that really needs to stop. Words have specific meanings and it is a disservice to use them as a 'gotcha' to get a win over on someone you don't like.
I hope I made a bit of sense to you Anon. I need to get my thoughts together for the other issue with DSK.
Okay, this provides a lot more context and I am glad I asked before I said anything. There are several important notes that I want to touch on both for this artist, Kique to an extent, as well as my own past experiences. I would like to research this and do my own digging so please give me a few days to get back to you. This clearly is going well out of bounds of the comic itself and bleeding into IRL.
Not sure if you follow any TLK comics, but the drama coming out about DarkSavannaKing just has me like... People are shocked after reading the contents of her stories??? Dark writing is one thing, but in her case it just comes off as gross, thinly disguised fetish content. It's so over the top.
Anon, can you confirm if you are talking about Wrath of the Dragon before I answer your question? I just looked that up on DA, but I wanted to make sure you are talking about this comic. As far as looking at other xenofiction works, the answer is no. I usually like to stick with human or anthro comics at the very least.
The only reason I ended up following Asmundr/Home was the story was advertised by either Kique or one of his followers on the comment section of the Off White series. The creators/team were really bad about moderation for whatever reason, and that's how I fell down this rabbit hole. I do hear murmuring about Song Dog or SleepySundae, but that is because mutuals that I follow talk about it. If my curiosity gets the better of me, I will look into the comic. Short of that though, it's best to assume on I don't read animal comics.
So I was doing a script going over chapter 13 (chapter breakdown) and I forget what I was looking up but I came across this.
Notice how Naeva is listed as an artisan? If that was the case, why have this blurb about her not wanting to fight if you are just going to do this? I don't know it this is a spoiler for the future or not, but it seems really weird choice to do two diametrically opposed ranks when the assumption was, at least to me they were all training to be warriors or guards. From what we know so far, Ronja is forcing all of the girls to train with Kargo so why list her as an artisan and then not let her do her job in the story. Am I crazy for thinking that way?
Buahahaha! Kique saying this with no fucking self awareness is mind-boggling. Mr. Totally-doesn't-steal-ideas-and theories-from-fans really wants to use the narcissist line unironically. You can't make this shit up if you tried. I can't believe anyone continues to support this guy. You are paying for copy/paste images with a plot 12 year olds could make miles better and more coherent without even trying. Truly the Kanye West of animal comics right here.
I keep forgetting to promote my stuff on here. I finished my series that I've been working on for the past year. This is the Desanguarine Delectatio Series. This story is an AU retelling of how Aventurine came into the Stonehearts and the relationship he has with them as well as a certain doctor working as a consultant.
This work is rated Explicit and has violence, non con, and abuse and other tags you should check. It also has two different endings. If that is something you are interested in, please give it a read. I would love to hear what you think.
