♚ ] It was strange; the Shadow did not seem to be at all hostile. Normally, the darker sides of a person could not be reasoned with. In fact, the other being seemed completely at ease, watching her with a look of curiosity. She was quite frankly unused to being inspected in such a manner - but he had started to speak, so she silenced any further comment building in her throat and simply listened.
♚ ] “He doesn’t know, yet.” Now, this was interesting. From her experience, Shadows tended to seek their other halves out sooner rather than later; craving completion, they rushed to confront themselves in the hopes of being denied, such that they could exist in their own right. Perhaps it was down to the tolerant nature of her Guest that his Shadow seemed so happy to wait - both throughout the course of his Journey and even now.
♚ ] “You have commendable restraint.” The Attendant’s tone was chilled, but there was a twist of curiosity playing at the corners of her golden eyes. She liked to think that she had learned a lot about her Guest over the course of their time together - but there were things that he had kept hidden. This was to be expected, of course. But here before her was the amalgamation of every thought he had ever buried, every feeling he wanted away from the public eye.
♚ ] Margaret almost felt as though she was eavesdropping.
♚ ] She shifted her weight from one foot to the other with a swing of her hips, not taking her eyes from the other figure for a moment. “Do you intend to find him?”
“Of course I have restraint. His problems are buried much deeper than the others, and takes more time to come up. So here I have been just waiting for the right moment.”
The Shadow replied with a smile, this is what made him significantly more
dangerous than the other Shadows. He didn’t mind waiting for the right
opportunity to do anything. Hence why it took so long for him to appear,
nearly a year after he was first created to show himself. He did everything
with a reason, instead of pure instinct. Which makes being able to hold
a civil conversation with others completely possible.
“By find him you mean show myself to him on the Midnight Channel? Possibly. Like the other Shadows I want him to reject me so I can become independent. However I want to see how these last few weeks play out before I make my move.”
Was the reply from the Shadow, waving his hand as the TV in the living room
came to life and on the screen was his host going on about his usual
activities. Nothing important has happened since catching Adachi a few
weeks ago. Which the Shadow didn’t mind, it meant that he could spend
time here in his area versus fighting as his host’s Persona.
“I am going to assume that you are going to keep this conversation a secret from him. Am I right?”
