Tokyo Ghoul:re Chapter 56 Thoughts

“Sasaki…what are you doi-”

Oh god…This is pretty much a video games choice of choosing between a good or bad ending…

It’s amazing that I would think this chapter was too short and such would be the “flaw” or something negative. The thing is it may be short, but it left a great impactful impression, which is something missing from the obvious comparison, Bleach. I don’t think I should be telling you why is it different from that, let alone comparing that to One Punch Man, but the idea is the lasting effect with its presentation and this one delivered greatly. So enough of the reason why it worked much stronger, this chapter is great.

The whole focus is the fight between Eto and Kaneki and the way it handled was like fighting a boss that can kill you one hit and it gives you that very frightening feeling that he/she/it will hit you. That double spread with Kaneki almost getting caught by Eto is my prime example. Thankfully, Kaneki is smart in the battleground that he planned it to outsmart her by finding the best opportunity to strike her with his kagune. Once that opening occur, off her body goes. But wow, Eto is proven to be one fucked up villain that just loves everything she goes through, even the crazy mind frenzy that ghouls with Kakuja suffers through. That double spread of her licking Kaneki is pretty much tells you everything about her. No regrets or anything. What a psycho. At least Kaneki now knows who she is. I guess her career is over? No, she’s not dead, I mean her writing.

The chapter ended Ui arriving to the scene and sees Kaneki devouring the lower half of Kakuja form of Eto. The next chapter is very crucial. You play games with choices that really change the path of the story? Well, this is it. Kaneki attacks Ui, CCG will paint him as a villain, Hinami will die, Arima will be called in to take him out and he’s not easy at all, since he is smart himself as well. Why else Sasaki got those techniques and physique. Kaneki cooperates with Ui, all is normal (sort of), if sees Shuu, they will kill him, Hinami will be safe, and Arima may look onto him if Ui report anything about Sasaki. Tough choices, eh?

Personally, he should calm down because if he doesn’t, everything will go bad. It doesn’t matter if he can try to take them out and may be strong to do that, everyone he is close (Kaneki and Sasaki) will get in deep trouble. So I can only guess he goes to normal. I mean he can runaway, that works too, but again, Hinami. There’s going to be consequences, sure, but cooperating will be the safe bet. Attacking head on will be a bad idea. Running away could work but that’s not easy still. There’s going to be a lot conflicts and I really don’t know what’s going to happen next. Christmas break is almost here, so Ishida is well ahead to end it strong.

What do you think will happen? I can’t wait. If only it was like Mass Effect with paragon and renegade. Wait…that’s what’s happening…

At this point I’m pretty sure it doesn’t matter if he calms down or sides with CCG. Sasaki, a half-ghoul on RC Suppressants, has just beaten the killer Owl, and is now consuming the remaining Kakuja. Now he’s certainly stronger than what they believe they could contain, he’s tampering with the remains of on of, if the strongest kakuja, slowing their research on improving their technology, and he has 3 remaining quinx that will fight for him.

Nope, the fact that he forced his friends to stay and rebuild the Tower were they were tortured as slaves. By lying about their chance of freedom and about Erza. Everything is okay because he was “brainwashed” and he had amnesia after almost sacrificing the girl he “loves”.

He still gets redeemed, without serious repercussions. And Kagura gets shafted about her brother as well.

If you sit down and think about it, he’s actually incredibly overrated & basically everything opposite of the character he’s supposed to be. 

Naruto was supposed to be a lonely,hated & loud kid with no special abilities who wanted to gain respect and acknowledgement.

1. Naruto is shown to be “ the child of prophecy “ aka mr special with hidden special ass powers which he barely works hard for ( really, his most powerful states happen in a snap of a finger wow ) basically wiping the underdog element out of his character and replacing it with an overpowered cliché one. nice kishi

2. Instead of just being respected and accepted, Naruto has loads and loads of fangirls. Just remember why you like this kid to begin with – and compare it to the two above. Sounds more and more like sasuke huh? special talents & fangirls? come on.

As much as I’ve moved on from Naruto, one thing that will continue to piss me off the end of my days is the fact that Hinata vs Pein had some of the greatest animations in the series.

And yet Naruto vs Pein, what should have been the last major arc of the story, had some of the shittiest quality out there. Why the hell did they blow the budget on filler content???

Sakura???? Elite from birth, have you forgotten your own origin stories? Sakura, one of the few clanless civilian born shinobi out there, was elite from birth. How, she had great control because she had no reserves, how is that elite? Lee and Gai must have left by now, elite from birth, what happened to hard work?

Hinata shook the world with her Jyuuken powers? How? Neji was always better thn her. How does the princess of a clan that has not been changed, shake the world? The princess that still cannot do a rotation? Elite from birth? She was an outcast because her younger sister was better than her, the fuck is going on here?

Wasn’t this manga about how a failure, through hard work can achieve greatness? So why the hell are they talking about who they are related to, and how they are related to greatness? Even Konohamaru, who’s entire story was about not being treated like the Hokage’s grandson.

Guys are idiots who need to reward girls

Why is it that both of the main ships of Naruto are about guys who don’t know what they want so they turn to the girl that’s been following them around almost their entire lives?

Sasuke doesn’t understand why Sakura’s obsessed with him and he’s told she doesn’t need a reason. Sasuke is chastised (mostly by fans) for having negative or indifferent responses to a girl who can literally do nothing for him but cry about her love and insist he drop everything just to be with her. She honestly served no purpose in “redeeming” him, rather she even gave up on him and tried to kill him. Naruto’s really the one - by Sasuke’s own words -  who always believed in him and finally saved him.

Yet fans act like Sakura should be rewarded for spending almost her entire life clinging to baseless feelings for a guy who promised her nothing. Sasuke’s shown to care for her as nakama with some moments that were debatably romantic, but it ultimately boils down to “Sakura’s loved him for so long so why not?” When it comes to Sakura’s feelings, we know she was attracted to him and that’s about it. When it comes to Sasuke’s feelings… he likes her because she likes? There wasn’t really anything specific. She’s often treated like a bottom of the barrel priority for Sasuke in favor of revenge or Naruto. It’s Naruto who gets zeroed in on because he’s his “best friend”, his “only friend,” and the one he has to kill in order to be truly “alone” (implying Naruto’s existence is the only thing that keeps him from being alone, so Sakura’s existence really doesn’t effect whether he’s alone or not).

Fans also insist Naruto would be a dick for not responding to Hinata, simply because she’s loved him for years. Even in The Last Naruto didn’t fall for Hinata until a genjutsu informed him of her love. Sakura later tells that Hinata is too good for him and he won’t find anyone better than her. So Naruto’s like “she’s loved someone like me for so long?” What is that crap? Don’t you dare blame Naruto just because Hinata took years to even talk to him, let alone come out about her feelings. It’s also technically not Naruto’s fault that he went from being written as emotionally sensitive to an emotional idiot who doesn’t even realize there’s a difference between loving food and loving a person. Naruto’s always had ramen but he was lonely until he had people. I’m certain he would have given ramen up if it somehow meant saving Sasuke. Yet Naruto, who beats antagonist by sympathizing with their pains, can’t seem to realize there’s a difference between caring for food and caring for a person.

It’s also such garbage that Sakura and Hinata apparently “can’t change their feelings.” Naruto and Sasuke can but once a girl has fallen she’s done for. This truly makes girls seem like clingy emotional parasites. They can’t be truly happy unless they get the guy and they can’t change so the guys have to. The girl doesn’t even need a reason to love, which I suppose means a guy doesn’t need a reason to devote his life to a girl who’s devoted herself to him for no reason. Well that’s deep. Either way they’ve waited this long without the man’s knowledge or consent so he should defiantly summit to their will.

And that’s really what I get from NH/SS. Men are either idiots or have better things to do. Just keep wearing them down and eventually they’ll humor you. The trick is to do it so freaking long that they feel guilty and start being shamed for ignoring you. After all, they’re not entitled to their own feelings. If you just keep waiting and accepting the neglect, eventually they’ll have to respond. And of course their response will be positive. There’s no way such a strategy could be unhealthy or end badly. None at all. I mean you might be miserable or lonely in the meantime but just keep waiting for that completely unguaranteed happy ending. It’s not a creepy way to put  your life on pause and obligate people into loving you, I swear.

What I get from NH and SS is they think romance is a competition, a game, you win if you get what you want. And if they lose, if they’re rejected, it’s the guys; fault. People were emotionally invested in the shipping war cos they wanted their self insert win and they’re mortified by the plausibility of losing to the other girls.
