Stiles looked at the foam container in his hands, to Derek, back to the foam container.
“You brought me chiggen noodde soub.”
Derek scratched the back of his neck. “Yeah, it’s, uh, it’s homemade.”
Stiles looked like he was still trying to process what was happening.
“You brought me ‘omemade chiggen noodde soub,” he said.
Derek felt his cheeks heating up and he looked to the hallway, longing to flee the awkward situation he had put himself in. He should’ve just left it on the goddamn doorstep.
“Do you wanna gome in?”
Derek was ready to reject the idea, to just say ‘thanks but I’ve got to get going’ or ‘I don’t want to impose’, but then he looked at Stiles’ hopeful—though congested—face and he found himself saying,
“Sure.”
Stiles grinned widely and then immediately sneezed, his whole body convulsing and almost dropping the container of soup. Derek took it out of his hands and entered the apartment.
Derek: 'I'm fine'
Stiles: 🚨🚨🚨

Derek loves manhandling Stiles. Loves physically moving him around. Loves that Stiles just takes it and allows himself to be manipulated. It feels protective.
Stiles loves being manhandled. Especially by Derek. Loves going weightless in the other’s firm grasp and letting himself be moved. It feels safe.
"Excuse me? I've been texting with the emissary from Sacramento. I'm supposed to meet with-"
"I forbid it."
Stiles scowled. "You forbid it. What is this, fucking werewolf Wuthering Heights? Werewolfing Heights? You don't forbid me anything, also I'm pretty fucking sure I outrank you, beta."
Derek scowled right back.
"This pack meeting is supposed to be fun, and educational. It's very important that we make a good impression with so much-"
"Scott can go. A few betas. You don't need to go." Derek said firmly.
"What the fuck... why can't I go?" Stiles slams his hands down on the desk.
Derek looked stricken, silent in a way that was totally different from his normal stubborn quiet. He looked like he was on the verge of chewing his own tongue off.
"What? What do you know?" Stiles rushed forward, laying a hand on Derek's arm to steady himself as he began digging in his pockets hastily. "I have my scrying stone... somewhere in here."
"It's not... You don't know." Derek's voice was still so urgent it took a moment for the words themselves to penetrate.
"Derek, will you spit this the fuck out?"
"You don't know what you smell like to werewolves. Your scent... your throat... your voice," Derek said urgently.
"What?" Stiles frowned, shaking his head involuntarily. "I piss them off, I know-"
"No. You're... you're... bait."
"Excuse me?"
"It's a term, it's disgusting but it's this thing. Certain people who are just irresistible." Derek's eyes were boring into Stiles'. He clearly believed very strongly in whatever he was saying, but it just didn't make sense.
"Me. Me irresistible?" Stiles scoffed.
"Yes."
"That's ridiculous. Scott-"
"Is your best friend."
"You? Peter?"
"Peter's gone now, thank god."
"You... you? What?" Stiles' head was ringing.
"It's fine. Don't worry about me."
"I worry about you, I worry very much about you."
Derek's eyes shuddered. "I would never attack you, I would-"
"But do you want to?" The words were out before Stiles could stop them.
Derek blinked. "I..."
"Would you... hurt me?"
"Never."
"You would want to..." Stiles trailed off softly. His hand was still in his pocket and he finally closed it around his scrying stone.
"I will never do anything you don't want."
"And if I want?" Stiles whispered, laying his hand over Derek's chest.
"I..."
"My voice, huh?" Stiles said into the space between their mouths.
"Shut up."
"Make me," Stiles baited, and he was barely able to stay standing on his own legs power when Derek yanked Stiles into his arms.
"I don't believe you, you know," Stiles said. "I think you just want me, I think-"
And then Derek did shut him up.
He did, as it turned out, get to go to the Pack gathering. Turns out being bait had a few advantages, chief among them the ability to wrap the heir to the Hale pack around his little finger.
“I think you’re good for me, and I was wondering, if I were a wolf, would you walk with me sometime right as the leaves start turning and we wouldn’t have to say anything at all?”

btw I set up a ko-fi! I had some money set aside to buy a new ipad bc my current one is struggling with the larger file sizes, but I had some unforeseen expenses and have had to almost start over. So if any of you want to+have the means to support my art, that would be what the money would go towards <3 Absolutely no pressure - I know times are rough for many and this is absolutely a luxury item!
