Healing Scars // Open - PCI Halloween 2020
Lash had wondered whether it would be a good idea to host the annual Paranet event at her own home. She had taken measures to ensure the safety of the property, and of those on it, during the gathering. But who knew what would happen over the course of the night.
She hadn’t bothered with a costume, instead this year settling for a long-sleeved black dress, made of a heavier fabric that helped ward off the chill of the evening. Her Hound Artemisia followed contently beside her as she wandered among the guests, greeting them as they arrived.
She hadn’t escaped the summer unscathed, though she knew she was lucky just to get through it with her life. Four sequential lines of thick scar tissue marred one upper arm, with a patch of burn scarring on the opposite forearm, and one of Missy’s ears had been torn ragged. But they were alive.
And so were the people here. Well, most of them were, anyway.
There was a lot of alcohol inside, and she poured herself a perhaps-too-strong drink to carry with her, going to greet someone newly arriving.
