Hey, I hope this isn’t a rude question, but I know you’ve mentioned that you’ve read the outlander series in the past and I’m a few books into my first read, but I was wondering if the Roger/Brianna research to find her parents in the past influenced and/or inspired the archives in Ripped. I just love the idea of Fishlegs being delighted to answer a Scotsman’s request for news articles related to literally anything other than a centuries old serial killer while there is a secret time travel plot that he’s completely ignorant of.

That is not rude at all and is delightful, I had not read or watched any of Outlander while I was writing Ripped though so that's just a beautiful coincidence, because I love a relationship based on research and meeting of the minds.

I do love the idea of Roger going into the archives in the very loosely Boston based city of Berk in the AU where there was a Scandanavian princedom in New England for a while that Hiccup would have been a prince of but it dissolved so he is now a serial killer tour guide. Because you're right, Fishlegs would be delighted to look for something real. He'd be so baffled. Like you want...what? You want me to search my database for a name that is not Viggo Grimborn? He is following Roger around like a puppy.
