tumblr, which is held together with duct tape and madness, run by three raccoons in blood stained Yahoo! hats and a handful of crabs, its only discernible source of income the sale of shoelaces from an inside joke so inside no one knows the original source anymore and fake blue checkmarks... that website still lives on

truly the cockroach of social media and I love it for that

I truly can’t remember the last time I touched tumblr. I’m not sure why I’m drawn back currently. Possibly life’s trials and tribulations bringing me back to my last safe place; possibly in such a dark space that this is me grasping at straws & looking for stability in a forgotten place. Regardless I’m desperate for an outlet and this is the best I could do.

It’s strange to me that even though I no longer consider my tumblr as a priority, I’ve never had a safer space that listens without judgment, and genuinely makes me feel heard. Even if it doesn’t really have an impact in my daily life. I feel validated and heard for basically the first time. It definitely goes such a long way for me and reminds me despite all the pain, it’s worth it. I feel stupid for feeling this way but at the same time there’s no where else for me to go that isn’t self destructive or detrimental to my life. So as embarrassed as I am, it did enough to keep going at least for now.

However, I really, really hope whoever still follows me is doing okay and persevering. Let’s lean on each other and grow, we don’t have to give up. Y’all have always been there for me, & I can be here for you. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you need, you deserve to be heard.
