Back again with a plan in mind this time, Ch’rell peruses the litter of freaks that Azure had sent out. Ah, more sneguins! Excellent. And some sort of shark-ant combo. Fun!

He inches forward, vial of blood ready in one hand to pay for his prize this time in the hopes that no one muscles past him for one with something more alluring. Like last time. Welp, second times’s the charm.

The second one in the batch was stunning, the highlights of red catching his eye. A perfect little guy to study. And then he finds himself utterly distracted.

What the fresh fuck was that?

A deer blended with fish?

Could those fish be… He wouldn’t put it past Azure.

He already had a name for it picked out. Jewel.

He thrusts the vial of blood into the seller’s hands. “The kelpie, please.”

Adoption Rules:

Choose one of the mutants novelty pets to love.

Choose a potential name.

Draw or write your chosen pet and submit it.

If you write, show how your sona or character meeting and choosing the pet, and how they pay for it. (Do they haggle? Offer to work off the debt? Attempt to steal it? Etc.)

If you draw, show the pet fully colored in alongside a payment whatever kind of payment your character has for the shady merchant. (Unicorn money preferred.)

Be sure to include the number of the pet and the name you want to give it.

Each pet will be available for approximately 24 hours before I randomly pick a name. After that, it will be first come, first serve.

There is now a cooldown. If you get an adopt this time, you sit out the next time, and then you can adopt again.

Also, warning. There is a bug (shark + ant) and something that might be considered body horror among the snenguins.

There will be! Working on some now, in fact. The blog is going to have a wide variety of creatures, but people like snenguins and I like drawing them, so they should be very common. The next batch will have a lot of them.

Ch’rell leans down and inspects the ‘wares’. This particular shady dealer has been on his radar for a while and he’d been attempting to stop him. But given that a few of his field agents hadn’t returned from their last outing to this ‘shop’, he figured he’d better go by himself.

He passes over the silverfish. They numbered in the thousands among the streets of New York, a mild inconvenience at worst. But the other creatures, snenguins they were called, catch his eye. Particularly the rather cute one, the fifth creature in the batch, standing on its hind legs and staring directly at him. Ah. The source of the disappearances is abundantly clear as soon as he hears “their venom can turn someone to fish”.

“I’ll take that one.” He points at the little freakish creature, in his mind already named ‘Fiend’, and digs around in his pockets for payment options. He knew how these went. If you didn’t have unicorns, they’d typically take anything else. Anything of value. Like old tomes and mysterious liquids. He’d offer a cloaking brooch but the last thing the dealer needed were more means to evade him.

His fingers prick on a thumbtack he’d picked up and forgot to dispose of. Green liquid dribbles down his index finger and onto his sleeve. Ow.

It was a mysterious liquid…

He’d likely come to regret this.

“I’d like to pay in blood.”

Woah, paying in mysterious green blood? If only Ch’rell had gotten there in time. Azure would have loved to have that. Definitely wouldn't regret it at all. Also, love the name idea of Fiend. That's so funny.
