You have the right to know what I recently received and what I did with your generous donations…
Five days ago, I asked you to help me raise $300 to buy medicine for a patient we know, enough for the next three months… due to its scarcity and Israel’s deliberate prevention of essential medicines and supplies from entering the Gaza Strip.
This patient suffers from severe epileptic seizures… and has been relying on this medicine for years.
A few months ago, he even had three seizures in a single day because he wasn’t given his dose… it was never available in the pharmacies of Dair Al Balah at that time, not even in Khan Younis.
My spirit shattered when I witnessed this myself…
and I cursed the occupation and the world a million times.
I’m sorry I couldn’t share the patient’s name, or even his medical reports, although I have them now.
The patient doesn’t even know, and I won’t let him know I did this, because he’s very sensitive and I don’t want to upset him.
But… what can we do? I wanted to at least do something for him as well.
...
However…
you should know that on that day, I didn’t just receive the $300 I needed…
friends raised $800 via PayPal and the campaign.
But I promised myself I would use it wisely.
$300 was spent on the patient’s medicine, enough for the next four months, Alhamdulillah.
$200 was allocated to my father in exile, who has been unemployed for over two years since his arrest on October 7; I transferred it to him yesterday, as he is more deserving of your money than I am.
$100 was spent on three plastic covers, which will be given to the three most in need families in the neighborhood, whom we know very well have no source that were severely affected in the recent storm.. of income and no donation campaigns. I’m sorry I cannot photograph people like others do, and they didn’t know who did it, but they will surely pray for me and for you in secret. ♡
I have $200 left.
$100 I will use to buy some clothes for the children of the Hassan family who haven’t received anything yet, and the other I used yesterday to buy some food, coffee, charcoal for heating, and cigarettes for myself, so I can write more beautiful poems, haha.
...
I truly don’t know where to begin, nor how words could ever express a gratitude worthy of you and all that you have done for me. You have never left me alone or lost, and every single time… every single time, you were always the first to extend a helping hand without hesitation.
Your hearts have always anticipated my needs.
Every time I turn to you, I wake up to find that the goal has been achieved, and even exceeded.
You have made me feel, with deep sincerity, that I am among my true family. With your love, generosity, and kindness, you have lifted the shyness that once weighed on me, and now I can be honest with you when I need something, without hesitation or fear. This is all the result of your constant love and care.
Shukran to everyone who has offered help every time, even with just a single word; to me, a word is more valuable than all the money in the world.
I love you, and you have all my respect and gratitude.
....
For context, the $100 today is spent based on the shekel + 25% commission (only 260 shekels instead of 350)…
For anyone who wishes to help monthly, even with just ten dollars, the link is here.
I am raising funds for my friend in Gaza. This fund is to help he… Manar Ahmed needs your support for Help Shahad, Hassan, and their kittens
I love you all, and your money is in my trust. ♡
