Stop asking me questions about "college" and start asking me questions about "Hamlet" and "vampires"
Worst Romeo & Juliet interpretation?
They’re just horny teenagers. Who even cares?
It’s a comedy, actually.
Romeo is middle-aged and Juliet is 14
It’s just a series of dick jokes with no emotional substance
It’s the kids’ faults they died
It’s a morality tale on why kids should listen to their parents
Something, something, Freud
Everyone is completely heterosexual, actually.
Other
also viewing it purely as a passionate love story, and not as a situational tragedy about a girl desperate to exert control over her fate and a boy desperate to be loved without expectation. Like yeah the love is there, but it's more about everything around the love I feel. It's about society.

In the mood to watch Othello, does anybody have recommendations of productions that I can watch online? Preferably for free?
If you see this you’re legally obligated to reblog and tag with the book you’re currently reading
It is better to know one book intimately than a hundred superficially.
Donna Tartt, The Secret History
And that’s why we read The Secret History over and over again.
— June 7, 1912 / Franz Kafka diaries
i saw a post about how 'chat' is going to become the english language's first commonly used forth person pronoun. which is not true. because it discounts the excellent 'Reader, I married him.' And I say 'reader....' all the time and so do my friends. So. that's all.
How King Lear should’ve gone:
I had an epiphany
I know it’s been said before. By me, and by others. But I am always in such awe at the genuine once-in-a-generation talent of Jacob Anderson—across multiple art forms and mediums, even!—and the fact that we get to witness it. I don’t know if I’ve ever been swept up in the absolute electricity of a performance the way I am watching him. It’s no wonder his co-stars are waxing poetic about him at every opportunity. If I shared a creative space with him like that I would never shut up about it, either. I would probably be going door-to-door telling people about him, to be honest.
jacob anderson hamlet when?
I'm rereading the secret history for the like. Sixth time I think now? And honestly, this book still is devastating to me but now it's mostly just funny. I'm just here for the comedy at this point. Like for example when Richard says "Had I stayed in California I might have ended up in a cult or at the very least practicing some weird dietary restriction." BITCH ISN'T THAT EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED IN VERMONT? Also Henry is from fucking MISSOURI???? And Richard has no problem telling us all about how he helped murdering one of his friends but he invents a fake name for his ex-girlfriend????? BITCH YOUR PRIORITIES ARE FUCKED UP. That's just so funny I can't take these people seriously anymore
i love when he gets right up to the murder and then pauses to be like 'i take flights a lot and I love reading murder books that i buy there but it's so annoying when the narrators are just about to describe the murder but then stop to say what good people they are :( but anyway, I did not do anything wrong—'
Pippa Blackwell is genuinely the character of all time and nobody talks about her it makes me very sad.
