Well 2014 is almost over. Days sure zoomed past quickly this year and I'm feeling great lately, which speaks a lot of how I think of this year.
I started January 2014 in a depressed state since I was trying to juggle studies, Chinese Drama and Hall stuff. This depression extended the entire semester to conclude at the end of Year 2 in NUS. I remember feeling relaxed when I moved out of the Hall, even though I sort of miss my room and the convenience that comes along with it, and I do have some pleasant memories in the hall, but KEVII has been my darkest period in my life as I struggled to adapt to school while succumbing to a lot of negative emotions.
I had a short break since my exams ended early and I remembered doing a lot of happy stuff. Then I had to go for an attachment at MOE which I remembered feeling stress about and I was really happy when it was over since it marked the start of what remained of my summer holidays.
THEN THE BEST SEMESTER OF MY NUS LIFE BEGAN. I took CM3291(thank god for Alvin and Esther!:)), CM3221(still thankful of my org friends and Esther!:D), CM3242(THIS WAS A BLAST, SLACK MODULE, MASS HANGOUT SESSION, ALL YOU NEED IS TB, BE HARDWORKING AND IT WAS AWESOME!!), CL2280( relaxing module like I'm on holiday) and GEK1007(BEST PROF OF THE SEM, UPZ PROJ GROUPMATE AND ALL THAT DRAMA WATCHING OF BBJX OR CHINESE HISTORY WASNT IN VAIN!!!) :D AND I GOT MY FIRST A IN NUS LIFE WOOHOO FYEAH!
It was a good decision to take GEK1007 alone. The module was a blast and I did reasonably well. This sem, I also took more modules with Esther and hang out more with Esther, who is so funny and she spreads so much positive energy into me :D My funniest friend in Chemistry has to be Esther (SH). Also, I joined a competition with OMX and friends and it was like striking lottery! The team works well together actually I feel, it's always fun cause we laugh a lot(or is it me) and we can take jokes!!!!
So to end off this year, things I have achieved (for my future remembrance)
1) Produced most of the props for KEVII Chinese Drama Performance, I transformed a rectangular block of wood to a fire place and with the help of my friends, gave birth to a telephone booth that still exists in KEVII till today. (and also two cupboards and a wine cabinet!:))
2) Taught at a school for attachment for three weeks and knew myself better so I can reflect and improve to be a better teacher.
3) Joined a competition, got third and won some money plus a Samsung Galaxy Tab! YAY!! And realised I loved acting, joking and being a fool (but I become more easily embarrassed nowadays.) (Also fulfilled one regret: gave my galaxy tab to my dad cause he asked for a iPad from me one year plus ago.)
4) Realized my love for Chinese History. But my patience for Chinese Literature is thin. My report on how the Mandate of Heaven was compromised through Chinese History got an A- YAY
5) My joking ways and happy self is coming back
6) Realised that to be happy and positive is to leave negative energies far away.
Got a job for John Little's Expo Sales, Prepping for Exchange and Summer school, enjoy life.
It was a year where I matured a little and learnt many things about myself, and conquered my depression partially. I have learnt that some things are not meant to be so I should just walk away gently so that no one is hurt in the process. I hope the momentum I built up over this semester extends in 2015, and may 2015 be a better year for all of us.
