after years Iāve finally succumbed & downloaded XKit. Why didnāt I do this sooner

Ryan blushed a little, so touched was she by the sentiment. āAye,ā she said softly, and let the subject drop.
āItās an apartment, but a spacious one. If yeā became uncomfortable, Iād expect you to tell me right away, and we could leave.ā
āI think Iāll be fine,ā he said hesitantly, shoving his hands in his pockets.Ā āMāsorry if I . . canāt turn back, yeah? Like I said, havenāt been able to since I got here . . But, still, lead thāway.ā
{ dawsonkelley; }
Itās like she couldnāt escape it, the news, it was everywhere. People died and went missing all the time, right? She didnāt know what made these people so special. Sure, she could sympathize with their families and friends. It was sad, she got that, but she had never been the type to mourn complete strangers. Had this been someone in the Pack, it would have been a different story. She would have raised hell. These were just strangers, people she never knew and probably would never meet.Ā·Rolling her eyes at the television, Dawson stood up from the table she was sitting on, then jumped down from the bench. turning to glance at the person next to her.
āWay to kill my vibe. Thatās what they say right? I was going to say it killed my mood, but then I remembered the vibe. Itās all about the vibe. Waitā is it too soon to use the word killed ironically? Social constructs are so strange here, am I right?ā
āHow do dead peopleĀ kill your . . vibe?ā he questioned, brows furrowed.Ā āI dunno; I . . I think so? I donāt, um, do people much. People arenāt my thing,Ā I guess.ā
Adrien looked over at the television, not quite sure what to make of the whole situation.Ā āDo people die here . . often? I dunno. Sākinda strange, so many people just . . gone.ā Not dead, necessarily, but missing, disappeared in some way.
I casually copied down the old ooc list because I donāt actually know anyoneās name

Inside; he had to get inside. Adrienās mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, and they just kept getting louder. Unable to escape them where he was, he ran down the street, only to pause in front of the first building he spotted. With haste, he yanked open the door and darted inside, slamming it shut behind himself and locking it.
Only then did he turn to see where he was, at which point he froze, gaze landing upon another person. āāShit, sorry.ā
{ arrowsandgin; }
Her normal method when calming someone down would be to touch them, generally their shoulder or hand, but seeing as Adrien was a special case, she devised a new strategy. Ryan smiled, āNo, really, I am fine. Itās strange how fine I am, with all of it. I didnāt mean to upset yeā.ā
With a nod, she stood. āWe could go tāmy place, if yeā like. I couldnāt bring māself to go very far from it, so itās just across the road, there. Would that be OK?ā
āMānot upsetĀ ācause of that; sācause someone hurt you,ā he mumbled, scuffing his shoe against the ground.
āY-Yeah, your place works. Sāfine. Just-- havenāt been 'nside a home for a couple years, so . . might be weird, sorry.ā Adrien flashed her a nervous grin, trying not to look too anxious about it. It was just a home;Ā things couldnāt be too bad.
{ dash-for-cash; }
Ā Ā Ā āYou good mate?ā The question was simple, but the boyās demeanor was far from. He was twitchy, anxious even and Dash didnāt need to be a warlock to sense that.Ā
Ā Ā Ā āWhat? Y-Yeah, fine. Great. Awesome.ā Adrien shoved his hands in his pockets, shifting awkwardly from foot to foot.Ā āYouĀ good?ā
Surprise, Surprise / Jude & Adrien

@shapeshfter
Maybe it was about time that Jude Evans admitted to himself that things beyond what his imagination could come up with were happening in the small town he grew up in. Maybe it was about time he admitted to himself that there were witches and shifters and god knew what else roaming about the streets of Downsville now. Maybe it was about time he admitted, and yet, for all he cared in the world, Jude did not. Jude did not admit. No, to do so would mean admitting to the lopsided thoughts that his colleague had been feeding him this whole time. To do so would mean believing every single word that had ever come out of their mouth.
And he was not that. He was not that.
There was a fear rampant in his bones, though. A certain fear of the unknown. A certain fear now for those that roamed amongst him and his fellow humans. There was denial, too. Denial that morphed into hope that all heād seen were dreams. Denial that morphed into hope that all heād seen were things he would never see again. These things, the fear and the denial, carried him through his days, though he, as ever, managed to look as composed and as put together as any. He was Jude, and Jude Evans was good at acting. Even if he could tell that the world was filled with monsters, he would still pull himself together.
Who would believe him anyway?
So, denial. So, fear. He would be fine with these for so long as no one other than Addie showed themselves to him. Only, as life would have it, life did not go Judeās way. (Even though it should; it really should.) And so, from the corner of his eye, he saw a familiar figure of a teenage boy, a familiar figure of someone he had once bumped into. Wrong next moves were not a specialty of Judeās, but he used one up now, as he turned his head, and met the boyās gaze.
This was the guy-- this was the guy.Ā Adrienās heart thudded loudly in his chest as he spotted him, and had he not have slept the night before, he surely would have panicked greatly. As it was, he fell still, eyes wide as their gazes met. Running would have been a good idea right then, but he couldnāt get his feet to move - not because of magic, but rather due to fear. Fear. He couldnāt help being afraid; this was most definitely some human, and heād simply revealed himself to him.
āŠŠ½Šµ жалŃ,ā he whispered, wishing he could abscond from the situation entirely.
āY-Youāre not mad, are you?ā
{ dash-for-cash; }
Ā Ā āIs there something on my faceāāĀ he asked, looking from behind his punching bag,Ā āor do you like staring?ā
āN-No, nothinā-- sorry, didnāt mean tāstare,ā he whispered, quickly dropping his gaze to the floor. Howād he get here now? His memory wasnāt working as well as it should have, and his arrival had already slipped his mind.
ooc;;
and with that reply Iām going to bed because wOW tired holy shit/// goodnight!!
{ arrowsandgin; }
She heard the growl that time, and her heart fluttered anxiously, but the apparent reason for his growl comforted her. Ryan swallowed, shaking her head. āItās fine, yeā donāt need teāāā She didnāt want Adrien anywhere near Forrest. āIām okay, and I donāt want teā antagonize the bleedinā git.ā
Ryan wasnāt familiar with that breed, but nodded anyway. āI mean, if youāre willing to show me, Iād like teā see a thing like that.ā
āYouāre not okay-- but if yādonāt want me to, I wonāt.ā Adrien looked anything but calm by then, especially given that his fingers had started to tap against his thighs, but he tried to think about other things.
āI c-could, but I canāt exactly--Ā ŠæŠµŃŠµŠ“аваŃŃ? Communicate,Ā sorry. Canāt exactly communicate like that. I mean, sāfine if I do it, but it c-canāt be here. Too many . . people, yāknow?ā
{ grimorgan; }
āGood call, it is getting late. With the recent headlines in town it would be best to get home before sundown.ā It was a general rule of thumb, āMy mom used to say nothing good happens after 1 am. Good to meet you, Adrien.ā
āYou could reschedule maybe?ā
ā--Is it? I didnāt notice; maybe Iāve been here longer than I thought . . ā Adrien looked towards the clock, flinching as the time processed. Heād been here hours,Ā it seemed. Shit.Ā āGood tāmeet you too.ā
āIf I knew who it was, maybe, but . . who knows. Iāll probably just . . get goinā now, I guess. See yāaround, maybe? Morgan, yāsaid? Yeah, Morgan. Iāll try anā remember that.Ā ātil next time, I guess.ā With that, the teenager made his way towards the door, figuring now was as good a time as any.
{ grimorgan; }
āOh you could, but if they havenāt noticed yet chances are you might get away with it. Perks of small town ignorance.ā Morgan attempted to put him at ease, caught off guard by his confession. ā⦠Gotcha, welcome to the U-S-of A then. My nameās Morgan.ā
āSure thing man. I hope whoever youāre looking for shows.ā
āW-Well-- maybe I can just . . sneak out. Māonly gonna wait another coupleāf minutes; sābeen half an hour . . ā The teenager flashed the other a shaky smile, giving a small nod.Ā āThanks-- māAdrien.ā
āYeah, me too . . Probably wonāt, though. Sāthe kinda luck Iāve got.ā
{ arrowsandgin; }
āWell, I think yeā can control pretendinā to be drunk, and pullinā a girl into the woods with yeā, lettinā her think sheās helpinā yeā out, walkinā yeā home.ā Ryan said, and angrily. She wanted desperately to recover from the fear, and didnāt know when if ever that was going to happen.Ā
She cocked her head, āA really big dog? Say, a lab?ā
āOh,ā he noised, a grimace crossing his features.Ā āNo, thatās . . thatās not right; thatās really shitty. I-- Do yāknow his name? Iāll fuckinā--ā Another growl sounded, in stark contrast to his somewhat frail appearance.Ā āSorry; I just-- sānot right.ā
āUm-- bigger, actually? A caucasian shepherd dog-- bear-hunting dog, bred in Russia. Like, big. Yeah. I could . . sh-show you? But I dunno, I havenāt been able tāchange back when I want since I got here. Sānot like before.ā
{ grimorgan; }
Learning where the kid was from peaked Morganās interest. He was willing to help as he typically was with everyone. āItās twenty-one, so this would definitely be culture shock for a Russian. What brings you to the states?ā
Turning slightly on the stool, he faced the other, āNeed me to read it? If itās in Russian Iām afraid youāll have to find someone else.ā
āO-Oh, well-- shit, okay.Iāll-- Should I go? Am I gonna get into trouble for beinā in here?ā he questioned, frowning.Ā āI came to . . to get away from home . . ā
āN-No, I mean . . I can read it, I just donāt remember writinā it, or anythinā like that. Thanks, though.ā
