Psyche was the name of the ancient Greeks for the soul. It was also a Greek word, originally intended for the butterfly. Across the universe in many myths and stories there is a close connection between a butterfly and the soul. Our word psychosomatic means the effect of the soul on the body.

Inside the cocoons, the caterpillars become practically liquid, retaining only rudimentary “patches”, which are the starting points of important parts of the future body, such as wings and eyes.
