Marinette had been taught that silence was never the answer by her parents  from a very young age. She held onto this lesson everywhere, by choosing to remain a fighter for those who remained silent when she was needed.
Even after her long time teacher, classmates, and her own crush at the time tried to install fear and convince her of the higher road against her greatest challenge she still remained vigilant.
She ignored them and pushed the pain from not falling into line down, so far deep that it was almost physically destroying her to keep doing it. It didnât take long for Lilaâs promise to take full effect after that, but by then Marinette had become used to pushing down the pain and rising herself above it.
She had a duty to Paris and that was all that mattered in that moment. Especially since the heroes of Paris were not receiving the help needed to defeat the terrorist that was affecting their home.
Adrien, her now best friend and most confident partner who had replaced Alya the second Alya had replaced her, had followed her not long after in speaking against Lila. It had made Lila angry to see him fighting against his fatherâs restraints and her own, a hard akuma for both Ladybug and Chat Noir to battle, and she once again had attempted to blame Marinette for the loss of control.
Adrien was quick to defend her that day and the two had quickly became fast friends, forgiving each other and becoming even closer after their identities had been revealed to each other. Since then Ladybug and Chat Noir had never been more insync with each other and Adrien and Marinette had never been more like siblings until then.
But sometimes becoming more insync could only do so much for them. The teen heroes tried so hard to get the help they needed to defeat Hawkmoth, going so far as contacting other countries for help and even the Justice League for help.
They began to rope citizens into calling for help as well, gathering as much evidence as possible and sending it out in waves hoping to gather attention of those who could send help.
Paris was becoming a battlefield and Hawkmoth had started to send out his akumas even further than the Paris homeground they usual occured at in a way to gain more territory and attention from the French, hoping they would find a way to pressure the heroes into giving up their miraculouses.
Paris had cried out for help directly after the second heroes day they had. They screamed and sent video after video to the Justice League, begging for their interference.
Paris heroes were only children and they could only do so much was something they cried out in every video. The Justice League ignored the calls, claiming that the hotline was not for pranks and they continued to ignore the peoples and heroes cries.
Those who contacted others not connected to the Justice League had reacted the same, claiming that they were a joke for even attempting to get help. The final straw was the blocking of Paris altogether from reaching the Justice League headquarters that would be effective starting at least 2 days after they sent a message to never contact them again.Â
With that, Ladybug and Chat Noir had sent out one last message to them before Paris had gone off the wire altogether and began their banning of tourists altogether. The video was sent out on all the radio waves that could see it, becoming international at the courtesy of Max and Markov along with others who reposted the video as much as possible.
âI will not remain silent to you small minded negligence and inability to see the obvious danger we have here in Paris. Since you have decided to ignore Paris cries for help we have decided to ban any further interaction with the Justice League with Paris.â Â Ladybug had declared with a firm look on her face.
She was not shy of being 14 when they first recorded videos to get help but was now 17 years old with a much more confident and hard shell than her younger self had. Especially after both her and Chat had lost their master.
âMe and my partner.â She had gestured to Chat Noir for him to speak. Chat also held a firmness on his face as he spoke. He was no longer the teenage boy that was passive till the end and flirted on patrols without taking anything seriously. He was now 17 years old as well, almost 18, and completely ready to fight for his city and his friends when needed with no questions asked.
âChat Noir.â
âHave come across an agreement that from here on out, to protect our own, tourists and the Justice League are hereby banned from stepping a single foot into Paris soil. You do not care for the possible damage your small mindedness may have caused so when the time comes and the miraculous are needed you will not have even the smallest of help from its users.â
Their was anger on both of their faces, anger at everything against the both of them. They would reign victorious against their threat. They had too, as it was no longer a choice.
Marinette and Ladybug would no longer remain speechless and neither would Adrien or Chat Noir. Â
âYou have elected to ignore Paris and for those reasons, when you are in your time of need we will elect to ignore you.â Chat Noir spoke up, almost glaring at the camera as if it were the Justice League themselves.
They had been abandoned so many times that this time didnât seem to hurt as much as probably should have. Especially since it concerned what the whole world considered the worldâs mightiest heroes.
âWe will not remain speechless and we will not be silence because of your idiocy. We will find a way to save our home and do so without your help. Do not attempt to contact Paris for help or to help us once you reach the truth because you will not receive any help and you will be attacked and sent away on sight if you are caught.â
This was a topic that was discussed between the two teen heroes for months. They had argued about it for awhile, as Adrien still had hope at the time for the Justice Leagueâs help but Marinette held firm that they would not be coming. When they did decide to come it would not be met with the friendliness that Adrien had wanted, that was something she had promised Adrien no matter what they decided.
âWith the citizens of Paris permission, I hereby announce that the ban against any non parisian entering Paris begins effective tomorrow evening. The states will have to collect their now tourists beginning tomorrow morning.â
Their faces were broken and behind their eyes, if you were careful enough to look into them, was two broken teens that were tasked to carry their world on their shoulders.
âThis is Ladybug, owner of the ladybug miraculous signing off for the last time.â
Turning to Chat Noir, Ladybug had nodded as if to give him his cue and permission to sign off the very last video they would send out.
âThis is Chat Noir, owner of the black cat miraculous signing off for the last time as well. â He had said with clenched fists before shutting off the video and sending it off to the Justice League and every other place that Max decided to send it off too.
The decision itself was a hard one, but it was all the more necessary.
Marinette woke up the next day with fear on her horizon. She really didnât want to deal with her classmates today and didnât want to deal with possible aftermath of the video sent out the night before.
With a groan of annoyance, Marinette sat up in her bed and started to get off her bed in order to actually get ready for the day.
On the bottom part of her room, Marinette could hear Adrien snoring loudly and Plagg talking in his sleep. Grabbing a pillow, She looked down below at her best friend.
âKitty. Time for school.â
Adrien scrunched up his nose at the sound of Marinetteâs voice before turning on his side, his back facing her.
âAdrien.â
He still didnât wake up or even bother to move from his position, snoring even louder than before.
Marinette growled before throwing her pillow directly at his head, hoping that would do something.
When it hit his head, Adrien let out what sounded like a hurt howl and a groan of annoyance all at once. Â
âAdrien Agreste! Get the hell up this instant!â
Adrien sat up and rubbed his eyes. âOh come on- Mariiiiiiiiiiiâ
Marinette just rolled her eyes and started to go down her steps as Adrien continued to whine and protest against getting up and going to school.
âOur class is so annoying anywaysssssss. Do we really have to go Maribug?â
Marinette faced him with annoyance as he pouted at her with puppy dog eyes. These were the days she wonders how she even had such a childish best friend like him.
âAnd this is coming from the same boy who fought tooth and nail to get into public school in the first place.â
Adrien just frowned, pouting deeply before leaning back into the covers of his bed. âBut that was when school was actually fun and our class wasnât stupid.â
They had gotten Adrien his own bed after he had began to stay over so many times till the point he had claimed a good half of Marinetteâs room his own. His side was littered with anime posters and  dirty clothes, looking more like a teenages boys room than the one he actually had at his fatherâs house.
He was the chaos to Marinetteâs normally organized room, which sometimes was a pain but was welcomed nonetheless.
Her parents had been concerned at first, considering this was their daughters old childhood crush sharing her room but they didnât need as much convincing to show just how much they were like siblings to allow Adrien his own portion of the room and rights to stay over whenever he wanted.
Adrien had grown onto the Dupain Chengs faster than they could realize, up until the point that Marinetteâs own parents actually began to call him son and would start to call and worry about him daily when he wasnât in their home with Mari.
Marinette let out a small snort as Tikki floated next to her, Â finally waking up herself.
âCome on Kitty. Or you wonât have enough time to eat mamanâs pastries before school.â
With that declaration, Adrien shot up and woke Plagg up in the process.Tikki and Marinette cracked up at Plaggs slight anger from being woken up so violently. Â
âAlright time for school!â
It didnât take long after that for the duo to get ready, get their belongings (and whatever pastry Adrien wanted to eat) and race to the school while still somehow being on time.
Marinette and Adrien raced down the halls as quickly as possible, eventually with Chloe racing after them as she was also late.
âHey Queenie!â Adrien shouted back to her as Chloe almost tripped in the hallways following them.
âMorning Adricat!â
The trio entered quickly the two blondes almost unaware of the angry stares of their classmates that followed them up the stairs to their small corner of the room.
Marinette however noticed them and almost felt herself shrinking. She looked at the classmates in pity as she trekked up the stairs like she did every morning. Â
It was like a routine at this point, Marinette glanced at Alya for a moment too before staring at the floor to see if anyone would try to trip her.
After all she wouldnât put it past her class since they never got punishment for it either. Sitting in the middle of Adrien and Chloe, Mari watched as her classmates had already started to cling onto the newest Lila story she had started this morning.Â
Over all Marinette had a gut feeling that today was not going to be a good day, especially when she turned to stare down at the students in her class and accidently wacked herself in the face with her fishtail braid. The worst part was that Mari knew that when she had a gut feeling, it was relatively always right.Â
âItâs a shame that Ladybug placed a ban on non parisians from entering Paris.â Lila had started from the front of the room, making Marinette gag internally.
Her newest lie to capture the class was her dating some rich American boy named Damian Wayne. Not that Marinette cared of course but she did feel bad the liar was going and throwing his name around with fake stories about him behind it. Especially since he would never even know.
Lila when telling these stories would always look back at Adrien, almost as if she was trying to get some reaction out of him when she lied about this Damian kid. It was kind of pathetic, something Chloe had said to Mari once when she caught Lila staring longingly at Adrien while Adrien wasnât even paying attention.
It was like she was trying to get Adrien jealous so he could come crawling back to the rest of the class.Adrien however did not even give her the time of day, getting distracted by literally everything and anything around him almost every time.
âAnd just when my Damiboo was coming to visit me! He was so devastated to hear that he couldnât come after all the planning he had done to get here!â Lila wiped some more false tears off her face as she went on with her newest story about her âDamibooâ.
The nickname made Marinette cringe visibly. It was gross and dumb sounding.
Yup she totally felt bad for this Damian kid.
âBut heâs just so sweet and understanding. He practically demanded that his father get help from the Justice League right away.  After all, the quicker this is solved the quicker  we can reunite again.â Lila had a small smile as Rose, Alya, and the rest of the girl group around them began to ask questions.
âBut I thought Ladybug and Chat Noir didnât want any outside help Lila?â Rose had asked, her head tilted in confusion as she looked at Lila for answers.
âShe doesnât.â Marinette muttered bitterly, still catching Adriens attention as he let out a quiet chuckle.
âWell me and Ladybug struck a little deal when it came to getting my Dami too get some help against Hawkmoth. She said she would consider it since she really is my dearest friend but if they donât respond soon then she would take back her asking for help again. But everyone knows how my Damibear keeps his promises. Iâm sure he wonât fail us and we can see each other again in no time.â
The girls surrounding Lila all visibly swooned at just how âromanticâ it all sounded and it made Chloe visibly gag which made Marinette and Adrien laugh lightly. Â
It was senior year, when were these girls ever going to actually grow up?
Marinette opened her sketchbook and rolled her eyes as the girls continued their loud  and annoying gossip from down below and got ready to start sketching a new outfit that could hopefully debut on her website soon.
âWhy does Ms.Bustier take forever?â Adrien groaned and complained quietly, sinking into his seat as he asked the two girls.
It was obvious that he was bored and the gossip from students didnât really help either. Mari and Chloe werenât even given a chance to respond since right after that Ms.Bustier had entered with 2 other students.
Mari sat up so quick when she spotted them, already sensing that they were foreigners and that they had strangeness surrounding them, almost like it was pure chaos. Beside her Adrien had also taken interest in the 2 boys, almost smelling the possible chaos radiating off them.
The first boy was handsome, well that was a lie they both were, but the 1st one had a rich smell to him in a way his green eyes staring right through everyone in the room including her which put her on edge immediately.Â
Sort of like Adrien before he started basically living at her house. It was obvious Lila had sensed it too as she perked up upon seeing them, forgetting completely about her poor and loving âDamiboo.â
Ms.Bustier had a large and patient smile on her face as she slightly ushered the two forward, the first one annoyed by the action and the 2nd almost used to the action. With how much the 2nd boy was smiling, Marinette was brought back to a much younger and sunshine Adrien.
Mari sighed and shook her head. She could bet the two would be Lilaâs newest lackies by the end of today and if not, by the end of the week. But for now, they were just in everyway against Ladybugâs orders. Not that she was ever taken seriously anyways, both in the hero world and here while she lived her normal life.
âGood Morning Class!â Ms.Bustier had told the class cheerfully. Everyone replied just as cheerful except for the 3 at the top corner. âI know itâs quite sudden into the New school year to be getting new students, especially after Ladybug and Chat Noirâs announcement about the tourists and the dangers they bring but I hope you can welcome these two new students with open arms into our classroom!â
Mari just went back into her sketching, already ready to tune out whatever was going to come out of Ms.Bustierâs mouth from there. If she wanted to know anything else about the boys she would just ask Chloe or Adrien considering they were so focused on them anyways.
"I hope you can all show them a warm welcome to Dupont! Please do introduce yourself boys.â
The green eyed first boy simply rolled his eyes at the teacher which almost made Adrien crack up laughing.Â
Almost.
The 2nd boy actually had went first which made Chloe snicker at his eagerness to actually introduce himself. Marinette couldnât help but look up at the boys for a second before going back to sketching the beginning of a brand new superhero themed hoodie.
âMy name is Jonathan Kent! But you can call me Jon and this is my best friend Damian Wayne. Weâre from the States!â
Marinette almost did a spit take at the names before looking up again at the boys in absolute surprise and shock. Lila seemed to go pale just looking at the two, sinking in her seat every time her and âDamianâ met eyes.
Alya just jumped up and down in her seat, rambling about how exciting this was to meet Lilaâs childhood friend and rambling in rapid french with her phone in her hands which she begged Lila for an exclusive interview for the Ladyblog.
What even were the odds
Staring at the boys, Marinette couldnât help but feel almost embarrassment on their behalf. Especially since the class was gossipping about them, to their face and the boys seemed to understand every word of it.
She had never felt more embarrassed in her life on behalf of her class. Especially since Adrien was cackling on one side of her at the upcoming chaos and Chloe was grinning like a viper ready to strike down at the boys and Lila on the other side of her.
Damianâs eyes had only met hers once and even though they did show extreme intensity in them, she wasnât afraid of him at all. He was intimidating, sure, but he wasnât as scary as he was trying to be as he stared out at the sea of students.
Marinette couldnât help but send a small glance towards Adrien to see his reaction after he had finished laughing like a madman, which was a large grin towards the oncoming chaos these two were obviously going to bring. Chloe only hid her smirk underneath her very obvious amusement.
Maybe today would be the day Lila would be revealed for the pig she actually was, those were the words basically written on Chloeâs face as she still looked ready to strike Lila at any moment. Marinette hid in her hands straightly after that, groaning in annoyance and dread.Â
Oh god this really was going to be a bad day.Â
