veteriis:
she quite like the heat — such warmth gave her the sense of security she had never received as a child. remembrance of her childhood induced the slightest of smiles to creep on waxen features, amethyst hues shifting over the endless amounts of sand, reminiscing the games her and a few other clan children used to play in the dunes. she also remembered getting stuck in one of the sandstorms that filtered through the area every once in awhile. that wasn’t as joyous. but such a place also brought back the memories of the clan she had once embraced so dearly — brought back the memory of what she used to call home. silken sigh escaped her lips, irritation ever so present on pale countenance at the lack of figure that she was supposed to partner with. fingers curled around her hip, weight shifting on her feet in the slightest degree to alleviate the ache in her knees from standing motionless for so long. purple vision scanned the horizon in front of her, vaguely catching sight of a shadowy figure in the distance before a small scoff escaped parted lips.
took you long enough. the words almost dared to fly from unsealed lips, dipped in poison. with a slight nod of her head, she gave the other confirmation that, indeed, she had been the one he was supposed to meet. she, however, did not agree with his idea to sit for a moment. vexation filtered through totality at the situation at hand, amethyst hues narrowing at the other. ❛ no, it is dire that we get to our destination in a timely manner. ❜ she wouldn’t wait for him. figure turned, beginning to walk through the sand, the granules deeming it necessary to fly around her head. fingers lift the mask that surround her neck, bringing the cloth to come above her nose. ❛ i would suggest you hurry that break of yours up. ❜
鮫 — This was going to be one long trip if he had to deal with her the entire time. First impressions meant everything, and the impression she was giving was that she was a major pain in the ass. A dissatisfied groan escaped from drying lips as he continued to follow behind his newly found comrade in a manner similar to a pouting child who was just told no. The sun was practically setting Suigetsu to a fine boil, and this chick didn’t even seem to toss him a second glance or sympathy! To think he believed that this was going to have a luxury vacation away from the red headed psychopath. No, he just exchanged his ill-tempered Uzumaki for another strict hard ass.
“Don’t be like that!” The voice came off as an exaggerated whine before giving his blue container a slight shake. It was running dangerously low for his liking, and the fact that they had at least another day ahead of them made it an even bigger headache. “Can we at least look for a spring or somethin’? I gotta refill the tank before we go any further. I’m sure whatever you need me for isn’t more important than my own survival.”
The winds hit against pale skin as another sigh of discontent. Maybe this mission would have been better off in the hands of the gentle spirited (and sometimes barbaric) Juugo? This earned itself a shake of his head before coming to a complete halt once again. There had to be some water nearby, right? That’s when lilac hues fell upon a blurry tropical landscape in the distance. There was a single palm tree overlooking a small oasis, but this was all he needed in a such a dry and humid hellscape. “Well, if you’re goin’ to keep walkin’ anyways, I’m going to go grab a drink and maybe a quick soak. Don’t wait up.”
With that, the young kappa was off at a full sprint, heading for an imaginary paradise that his eyes had believed was real.
