Logo: Planning
“Setting strategy is all about understanding what you have to say and to whom you have to say it.” According to Design Matters, we should plan our strategy from what our clients want. Logo, too, needs to reflect on the clients’ needs. The point I highly agree and would like to spread out is that brand strategy is all about finding the path to earning customer loyalty. That’s why we need planning, to solve the problem. Despite some people thought the sketches are useless, I, however, strongly believe that fundamental gives the structure strength as how we know more about the backstory and gives us opportunities in connecting the dot. Research can seems useless at a time, it can also be long and exhausting to the designer. However, without it we would not even have point to start, therefore researching, planning, and sketching things out are crucial. In addition, the term “research” does not limited to just searching online and asking what the brand is all about. Interviewing, or survey are also included in the categories. These steps cannot be avoided in any way. Saying “I work hard under pressure” does not solve the problem, instead the problem lies on how does one avoid working under pressure.
In my opinion, It is essential to follows the step and know what exactly we are doing as the brand needs its identity to structured its whole business including: their personality, names, target audience, values, or even the feeling of audience while looking at the brand itself. Logo combined those and cut short into a simple image, that itself is important.
