The Frouds and Glastonbury Faery Fest
This weekend I had a flying visit to Glastonbury for one reason only, The Frouds. They were at the annual Faery Fair (run by Karen Kay's Faery Events). I got to meat Brian and Wendy Froud.
This is a photo of Mr Froud and I we talked about Skeksis.
I also bought a necklace by Wendy:
polymer clay sculpt of sycamore seeds gold leaved, with real salt water pearl and the back is signed.
It is odd meeting people you admire but they were lovely here is a pageÂ
from Brian Froud's Faeries' Tales, that comes out this autumn.

We're All As Mad As Rabbits
Last month I indulged in some fabric I have been wanting for a long time that was a little out of my price range per meter. But there was a 15% of sale just for 24 hours so of course I had to treat myself … no I didn’t according to those who watch my purse string but I say go away spoilsport. So what did I get… I don’t know if you have heard of Belle and Boo. A duo consisting of a small girl and a rabbit. From the wonderful imagination of Mandy Sutcliffe. Ms Sutcliffe has created a brand that makes me long for a childhood in the word she illustrates picnics and snow, cowboys and pirates, carousels and rabbits named Boo.
Her range also includes the most adorable children’s clothes which make me wallow in momentary despair that I am not 5 and cannot run around in the garden as the most fashionable kid in the whole of the garden.
So down to what arrived in the post well I always enjoy post perhaps this is why I have so many things I think I need to buy it is all in the name of receiving post. It came witch stickers and rabbit tape on the parcel...
and then out fell perfection, poplin printed with up to 12cm in height rabbits named Boo.
So what do I wish to achieve with said fabric. As I mentioned previously she makes children’s garments and one of my favorites is this:
Belle and Boo's Tea Party Dress
I want to take this idea and whilst modifying this pattern by Burder Young 7021...
to make an adult sized piece of rabbit wonderfulness. How long this stays on my pile of to do is unknown but I have told you my plans and now have no choice but to make it so.

Red Cap and a Thistle Blancket
Last weekend I was taught by a friend of mine to do basic crochet. Here is My first go ...
I have been knitting since I was small nothing fancy just something I love doing with my nan but as I live away from home, it's not something I do much of anymore. My little sister had her second child last year and my nan knitted her patchwork blankets for the buggy they are so lovely.
So this gave me the idea of making one for curling up on the sofa with a book on a chilly afternoon I didn't know quit what colour scheme I wanted but luckily I saw this bouquet.
I love thistles.
Then I didn't do much about it, till today I had some spare pennies and bought these:
a darker broodier colour way.
One of the reasons I wanted to learn to crochet is because I wanted to knit myself some pixy red riding hood style caps, so i bought some rather decadent Rowan wool.
And have started practicing my crochet.
Will keep you informed of my slow process.
