lyrhunts:
It was a much warmer introduction than she’d expected. Perhaps much edgier than that of a regular exchange between siblings, but Lyr was relieved- having little to know understanding of what a regular sibling relationship looked like. Even among their own kind, bonding was done in battle. There was rarely anything soft about any of the Echani.
She notices the breathy nature of Otalia’s voice, wondering if it’s authentic or a warrior’s trick. It would be too easy to have put her in a vulnerable state so early on. Unless, Lyr’s mere presence truly had that severe an affect.
“I was not.” Lyr advanced towards her sister, there being no point in continuing their conversation from such a distance. “But I found you anyway. How long have have you been here, beloved sister of mine?” She wondered, if maybe she had been looking for Otalia. If she were, she wasn’t about to admit it- especially not to herself.
There were reasons, in the end, why Otalia felt it was necessary to leave home. Some people would call them bad reasons, and others might agree with them, but they're still her own. She holds them close to her, a reminder of why she can't just turn around and go home when things get a little difficult. By now, though, she's gotten used to a certain lifestyle. It isn't easy but it is hers, entirely.
Lyr looks well, as much as Otalia can tell in this lighting, which isn't much. Really, it's just surprising that her family let her show up here, on Coruscant. Not even the nice part. It's the places where Otalia does her work, and nothing about that is nice at all.
❛❛ I've been here for around a month now, give or take a week or two. ❞ It hasn't felt long at all. Coruscant is always busy, and that includes in what interests her the most - bounties and the rewards they offer. ❛❛ What about you? ❞
