Summer Update

Returning for another post. This summer been going well personally. Been enjoying the time off before I go back to school in the fall (hopefully). It's been slow as far as activity on Merrlo but slowly but steadily I see it gradually picking up steam.

To sum it it up as far as the plan right now, I'm just trying to build the userbase up. It's kind of hard to explain this kind of new website which haven't been done to this certain degree but selling people on the idea from a user to a promoter is exciting and look forward to do it.

So to give people an actual idea of what Merrlo is instead of explaining it over and over, I  came up with an idea to basically simulate the whole process of using Merrlo to find a local event, get ready for and attend it through a viral video. Me and my friend Daquan are collaborating on developing the video and is holding castings this Friday in the Bronx (not too late to check it out). After we plan to shoot the scenes, edit it and have it available online.

This is through the promo run I plan to do during the fall and winter. I'm looking/expecting to expand Merrlo's reach at Queensboro and LaGCC colleges through a promo team. So if you're a college student, ages 18-24 and interested in working with me, e-mail your resumes here: [email protected]

The goal is to get some activity going for next January going into Spring Break in March 2013. Hopefully we bring in some thing montary so we can hire engineers/designers to design the website and our mobile app.

However I didn't forget about the music. It's been slow on that end too because of creative reasons/laziness/busy with Merrlo (more of the first two reasons lol). But I'm not rushing my self, I'm still developing and working on beats. My desire still hasn't changed.

I know I've been M.I.A for a minute on Tumblr but I'm back. Just been super busy on Merrlo and music. As promised, Merrlo.com was launched May 18th, 2012, founded by yours truly.

For those that don't know, Merrlo is an event listing website that lets you use your zip code, name a favorite DJ or host you like and get listings of parties and public events going on near you. Proud to have the website up and running so lately, I've been trying to figure out how continue building the functionality of Merrlo and make it more effective for users to use. So if you're a promoter and you have a party, link up with Merrlo, on the home page click the top right button in the corner and hit Submit Event. Fill out all information and submit it. Shortly you will receive your listing page.

I'd like to thank Takeem Owens of CreativeXMedia, my sisters Sheena and Tabby, and my friends Natty, Sam, Derrick, Jo and everyone for supporting this project.

Shortly, me and Takeem will be launching a new brand look for Merrlo featuring a new logo and designs.

As for the music, it's been kind of a second priority that I haven't forgotten. I'm still working on new beats everyday, however I'm prioritizing my time especially with all the free time I have. I recently brought a new M Audio 49 keyboard off Ebay and I'm using that to help me work on my keyboard skills and developing melodies.
