THE STORY:
The papers paint a picture of Shay Beaumont as a force to be reckoned with. To her brother, she’s a priority. Her cousins, a source of comfort. To her friends, she’s loyal. To her family, protective. Shay is all of those things but so much more. While she almost always portrays the face of confidence and gentle friendliness, Shay can pull off cruelty without a hitch. She was nine years old when her brother was placed in the throne for the Magdalena Cartel. It was her who put down her toys and Barbies and traded them in for self defense classes and frequent trips to the shooting range. One thing many people don’t understand is Wade’s fierce protectiveness over Shay. While of course she is his younger sister, she’s also twenty four years old. Even then, Wade refuses to let her do just about anything by herself. It all stems back to when Wade took over the Magdalena and gained enemies. Enemies who stooped low enough to kidnap and torture his eleven year old, kid sister. A gang housed in Miami began watching the Magdalena closely since Wade took over and his young age stood as really his only disadvantage. When they realized he was in fact running the gang not only perfectly but it was thriving, they wanted to knock him down a notch. They needed to stop the Magdalena from further taking over  the drug war on the east coast. Suffering through a kidnapping is something no one is ever prepared for, especially when still hosting the innocence of childhood. Shay had been taking self defense classes for about a year and a half when a van of six men grabbed her. She fought them off, in fact she fought like hell. But in the end it was six against one and Shay was tied up and thrown into the van.
Shay suffered through immense physical, mental, and even sexual abuse for six months before she was found. The hospital’s final report of her injuries consisted of several broken ribs, a broken arm, fractured collar bone, immense bruising and internal bleeding, and she had punctured a lung. The report of her injuries suffered by the sexual abuse no longer exists, as Wade destroyed the file himself. For the six months Shay was missing, Wade ripped the east coast apart and the gang that kidnapped her? Wade made sure it was considered extinct. He felt one hundred percent responsible for what happened to his sister and now refuses to let Shay go anywhere without at least one bodyguard, even if nowadays she could probably take down all the guards by herself. While Wade tortured himself for years over what happened to Shay, she took it as another approach. Shay took it as a lesson and something that only further pushed her to be stronger. From the very beginning she assumed if Wade was on top, she’d be at his side. For Shay it’s always been about family. Which is why when her niece was taken to Paris, it killed her. Their life is by no way safe but she knows she’d rather watch her cousins spilling other’s blood than seeing their own.
It’s Shay’s unbelievable concern for everyone, even strangers, that is her biggest weakness. It was probably that reason that the Kings and the Magdalena ended up becoming friends, with Shay bouncing around and befriending anyone she laid eyes on…it was hard not to be on friendly terms with her. Especially when Shay played such a huge part in helping Henry overcome his drug addiction. That was the first thing that won Zach’s trust over completely. Wade had already visited California dozens of times, the Magdalena and Inferno were friends but when Henry King’s drug addiction problem began spinning out of control, it kind of took everyone by surprise when Shay took shifts with Zach, Adam, Tanzie, and Christian watching over him. After Wade left, Shay spent almost four months solid and then weekly visits after that between New York and California making sure she finished what she started. From there on, the Beaumonts and Kings became more than just business affiliates.
Shay Beaumont can be found in New York doing work with the Magdalena on a normal day, yelling at drug dealers, or the complete opposite. She loves the social and fame side that has come with the Magdalena, attending parties and events. Never being one to be tied down by a single man, her fling of boyfriends has always been a big story in the gossip columns in New York. The life of running a cartel is a busy one and Shay now blames that for being the reason she didn’t know about the Kings being run out of the Inferno and California all together. While having an obvious particularly close relationship with Henry King, the other two King brothers also have a soft spot in her heart along with the affiliates they had. When Tanzie Reed appeared unexpectedly at the Magdalena’s doorstep, Shay’s first thought was that Henry had relapsed. Though that wasn’t the case (at least unbeknownst to them), Shay was all for arriving back to California to visit the friends they had been so out of touch with for two years.Â
If she had known what was in store for the Kings and her own family upon their return Los Angeles, she might have rethought being so quick to lend a helping hand. Despite the reputation of most gang leaders, Shay knew the Kings and her brother well and although she knew that none of the them deserved to be behind bars. Unfortunately, her opinion on the matter didn’t matter and when she found out her brother and friends were going to arrested, to say it threw Shay for a loop would be putting it mildly. Having to say good bye to her brother was the hardest thing Shay had ever had to endure, especially know that it was going to be for life. The day the boys were arrested, Shay knew that she was the one who’d have to step up; for her family and her friends. Dividing her time between New York and Los Angeles, Shay took on her role of Second in Command quite seriously, making sure everyone knew the Magdalena Cartel was still a force to be reckoned with. The pressure, though she never spoke of it to anyone, often times became too much for Shay. However, Shay never gave up and powered through. Visits to her brother and other friends were frequent though Shay found herself spending a majority of her time in New York. When she heard of the plan to free the boys from prison, Shay couldn’t have been more ecstatic. With her brother and Kings being released, Shay is more determined than ever to help the Kings regain control of Los Angeles once again and make the Rebellion regret the day they day they decided to mess with her family.
