The middle child of the King siblings, Adam learned quickly how to stay quiet and out of confrontation. It felt that he always had an older brother to look up to and a younger brother to lead. In the end, Adam looked at his hero as his father. The man was a police officer and from the age of seven, Adam decided he wanted the same thing. He was only about three when his mother died, it was after she had Henry that she suffered complications. Thankfully, he doesn’t remember too much of the day when she died but even as a kid he looked at it that they got Henry out of the whole messed up ordeal and that’s what made it all okay. While Zach started to get into trouble at school, Adam did his best to make it look like both elder brothers were excelling for Henry’s sake. Adam never was one to get into any trouble at all and while parties were going on, he could usually be found at home writing in one of his dozens of journals. Writing became Adam’s outlet and therapy.
After graduating high school, Adam started taking writing classes at a community college. Nothing too big since he knew the police academy was his true destiny. It was right around this time that Jerry King came into the picture. Adam was interested in the man only because he liked hearing about the family’s history. When Zach denied the offer to start up the gang, Jerry went to Adam next and honestly, he thought the old man was showing early signs of dementia. After taking about a year or so off and studying his writing, Adam enrolled in college for his police work but never completed it. In the final few weeks of his classes, his father was gunned down on the job and killed. It was at that moment that Adam began spiraling down mixed with mourning and the feeling of being lost. He already knew Zach felt the same, the two pulled Henry with them as they approached Jerry King. With nothing left, it was time to make something for themselves. They wanted to continue the legacy of the Inferno Cartel.
Things started out rather quickly for the gang, before the boys knew it they already had employees lining up. One in particular stood out to Adam, a blonde begging to be a bartender by the name of Hanna Whitely. She refused to give any kind of back story and assured the men that she’d be the best damn bartender they’d ever seen. Not really finding any reason to argue, Adam hired her on the spot and the two started their long, complicated relationship. At first she frequently ignored Adam and rejected any kind of advancement he’d throw at her. Persistent, Adam kept pursuing her and eventually she agreed to one dinner date that erupted into the two of them being inseparable. The problem was she refused to tell him anything about her life before she came to the gang and it put a big strain in their relationship. He would often find her sometimes shooting up, other times she’d be in a corner sobbing but it was never enough for her to let anything slip. Adam continued on keeping the finances in the gang secure while also working with the drug dealers. When he began noticing Henry’s drug problem arise, Adam turned his focus to his family and slowly stopped trying to solve the puzzle that was Hanna.
When the take down began to occur, Adam stood with Henry at the refusal of giving anything up. It made no sense for them to just get run out of town, no matter what their employees thought of them. They were the leaders and the leaders were to be obeyed. That was until Zach made it clear that they were leaving Los Angeles for good. Confused, Adam obliged with his brother’s wishes and the three boys left California with their cousin, Dia, and three other employees. They traveled to London after that, a place Adam enjoyed. It seemed much calmer from what California was. From there, they all went to Miami to meet up with Jerry King. They spent most of their time just lounging about, all the free time made Adam miss California and the people whom he had grown to love and care about. They all agreed they’d keep their phones shut off until or if someday they decided to return to California. It was about five months before the plans to return started going on and a drunk Adam just couldn’t resist and turned the small electronic device on. He was bombarded with missed calls, voicemails, and text messages from dozens of people but scrolling through them all - there was only one text message that stood out at him from the beginning of 2010. It was a simple text from Hanna that read, ‘you’re a dad. congrats.’ It was the only text she had sent him the entire time and it completely shook him to his core. Unaware if it was true or not, Adam had gone in denial about the whole thing.
Upon arriving back in Los Angeles, Adam struggled with several factors. He struggled to adapt back into the world he once lived, he couldn’t really look at himself in the mirror and consider himself a father, and it was almost impossible to face Hanna or Stormie. Eventually though, Adam began to warm up to the idea and after realizing he couldn’t live his life without Hanna and Stormie, he proposed to Hanna. The three lived together fairly peacefully until a kidnapping occurred and Adam ended up shooting and killing Parker Cohen. It caused an absolute uproar and he might’ve felt a little guilt for it, but wouldn’t take it back for anything. A war is a war, casualties will be made, and Adam would gladly take out anyone who even stood as a threat to his brothers or his girls. After finding out his fate was to be imprisoned, Adam spent his last day where he always liked to be, with Hanna and Stormie. Of course, just like the rest of the guys, he tried to find some loophole out of it, something, anything. But it seemed impossible. It was two new lives that would set off the domino effect of Adam’s escape plans. Finding out Hanna was pregnant, this time with twins, he felt extremely torn up inside that he was going to miss helping her through her pregnancy and being there for the birth of his children again. Axel and Aven King were born into the world nine months later and despite everything he could possibly do, Adam missed their birth. Jail began to feel more and more miserable and in return, crushed the warmth that always seemed to radiate around the middle King brother. Within the last few weeks, Hanna’s been missing visiting hours and it’s been pushing Adam into a deeper and deeper slump. He just wants to be home, with his future wife and his children.
