I still think about the way you loved me without roots. How every time I tried to plant something, you brought wind. And I called it passion, called it freedom, until I realized I had built a garden in a storm, and nothing could stay long enough to bloom.
Richard Hugo, Essay on Poetic Theory: The Triggering Town

not everything you give will echo back to you. not every act of love, kindness or presence will be seen, named or remembered, but that doesn't make it any less real. you won't always see the ripple. you won't always get the confirmation. but that doesn't mean your light isn't working. it just means your impact is bigger than you can see. you may never know who made it safely to the shore because of you, but someone did. someone always does 🌟⛵️🌊💌🌻
Lai of the Unseen Light
A faint glow on a silent pane, My thoughts return to you again. The hours pass, a quiet stream, Lost in a waking, pixel dream.
A profile picture, softly bright, A distant star within my night. No word is sent, no message penned, Just silent watch until the end.
A phantom touch, a fleeting gaze, Lost in these lonely, wired days. The memory of what might be, A quiet ache inside of me.
This hidden ache, a gentle art, That binds and breaks my fragile heart. Perhaps you too, across the vast, Recall a moment built to last.
So in this quiet, spectral space, I seek your shadow, trace your face. A silent plea, a whispered prayer, For light unseen, and always there.
