Location : Outside Delvaux Manor Who : @taintedstarters​

       With her arms crossed, Sage paced slowly at the gates of Delvaux Manor. Eyes downcast, she watched as she put one foot in front of the other. She had long since learned to control not only her magic, but her temperament : there were a number of feelings warring with each other as she contemplated the events of the past few days and nights. The storm had made containing the threat difficult, and Sage’s gaze is drawn upwards towards the sky. It was still overcast, and she could feel a tension in the air. Rarely did such a sensation cause a physical reaction, and yet she shivered nonetheless. “It’s not over,” she said quietly, almost under her breath as she stopped pacing. She senses when she has company, and she averts her gaze from above to face them. “Yes?”

Stumbling through the woods, Isla dared to glance upwards towards the sky, the droplets of rain pelleting against her flesh as she quickly ducked back down behind a tree. The storm was still raging, and she knew it was in her best interests to make it back home. But with the echos of howls forming around her, she half wondered if she’d ever make it. Whatever was in the air tonight, seemed of destruction and disaster, and the witch knew it was only just beginning. So with a tight-lipped sigh, she narrowed her gaze towards the next crowding of trees before breaking out into a run, only to catch her foot against a risen root, her palms being fronted as she collided with the mossy ground. “Crap…” Rolling onto her side, she ran her hands against her dampened jeans, just as the rackets of the howls could be detected closer. “I really don’t wanna die tonight.” With an exhale she pushed against her knees just as she caught sight of another just a few feet away. “Whose there?”

      It’s in the air. Sage could feel it, something brewing. Rain fall and howling winds couldn’t move her as she stood completely still in the middle of the woods, her palms open and her arms outstretched slightly beside her. With her eyes closed, Sage inhaled and exhaled deeply, controlling her breathing as she intentionally lowered her heart rate : alone, she couldn’t control the storm enough to completely prevent it. She was powerful, but even the high priestess had limitations. Her brow furrowed as she opened her eyes and looked up at the sky. Something had drawn her out here, and it wasn’t just the unusual weather.

        A voice pulled her out of her contemplation, and she turned, lowering her hands to her side. The rain couldn’t touch her. Amidst the downpour, she stood completely dry as she backed in to the light and she raised her brow at the sight of her intended successor on her hands and knees. “Isla,” she called out. It wasn’t a question, Sage could see it was her without rainwater in her eyes. As she moved towards Isla, she hesitated at the sound of howls : her eyes are drawn to their surroundings, and Sage grit her teeth, hands flexing in defence as she closed the distance before she offered one to the other. “What are you doing out here alone?”
