Facial masks are like cherry on the top of your daily healthy routines. They're like chocolate dessert when you feel down. They're brilliant. They're miraculous.
You want a new cream. So you go to your favourite shop or you do your research online, look through various creams and ingredients. This one has jojoba oil, the
Best Anti-Dandruff Remedy
Dandruff
is a common chronic scalp condition marked by flaking of the skin on your scalp. Although dandruff isn't contagious and is rarely serious, it can be embarrassing and sometimes difficult to treat.Dandruff appears as a white, oily looking flakes of dead skin that dot your hair and shoulders, and a possibly itchy, scaly scalp. The condition may worsen during the fall and winter, when indoor heating can contribute to dry skin, and improve during the summer. Most common causes of dandruff are:
Dry skin, which is the most common cause of dandruff.
Irritated, oily skin (seborrheic dermatitis), which is the second most frequent causes of dandruff, is marked by red, greasy skin covered with flaky white or yellow scales.
Not shampooing often enough.
Shampooing too often (or not rinsing your hair properly).
Sensitivity to hair care products (contact dermatitis).Sometimes sensitivities to certain ingredients in hair care products or hair dyes, especially paraphenylenediamine, can cause a red, itchy, scaly scalp.
Other skin conditions.People with skin conditions such as eczema — a chronic, inflammatory skin condition — or psoriasis — a skin condition marked by a rapid buildup of rough, dry, dead skin cells that form thick scales — may appear to have dandruff.
A yeast-like fungus (malassezia).Malassezia lives on the scalps of most adults, but for some, it irritates the scalp. This can irritate your scalp and cause more skin cells to grow. The extra skin cells die and fall off, making them appear white and flaky in your hair or on your clothes.
Living with chronic dandruff can be tiring experience. Probably you’ve tried it all – commercial anti-dandruff shampoos that only made things worse, medical shampoos available only at pharmacy that costs more than dinner in a restaurant, or doctor prescribed remedies, that definitely help, but you cannot use them all the time.
My husband has exactly this problem. Basically anything can upset his scalp and he ends up snowing all over the house. And if it were only a domestic problem, it would be just annoying. But as he works in restaurant as a waiter, he is very self-conscious about his looks and hygiene, because even the slightest sign of dandruff can be an embarrassing experience for waiter. The issue is not that nothing helps. The problem is that if anything helps, it’s only temporary. And it would be just great to have a day-to-day solution and using medicinal shampoos only when it’s getting worse. I really can’t say how many times just before we were ready to leave the house he ended up washing his head over and over again, because he had a feeling that he didn’t wash out the shampoo. Or something is irritating his skin. Or he touched something and then he touched his had and now his head is itching. It’s like living with a teenager. Because his dandruff was draining our resources and basically we were out of ideas, I started the research on my own. The best remedies and most commonly cited are tea tree oil and apple cider vinegar.
Tea tree oil
has wide variety of uses. The components in the tea tree oil may kill bacteria and fungus, and reduce allergic skin reactions. It can be applied to the skin and used to treat acne, fungal infections, lice, scabies and many other unpleasant conditions. Apple cider vinegar is a well-known folk remedy to treat many health conditions. Apple cider vinegar has antibacterial and antifungal properties that help treat itchy, dry scalp. The acidity of this vinegar can help maintain the pH balance of the hair, without washing off the natural hair oils. First, you can start by adding few drops of tea tree oil to your shampoo and see if that works. If your hair and scalp are particularly sensitive, you can try using baby shampoos – they are very delicate, they live your natural hair oils intact, but they serve their purpose as hair wash. Second, you can add to your routine apple cider vinegar rinse: mix glass of water with two spoons of apple cider vinegar and rinse your hair after washing them and using hair conditioner. Rinse with water and follow with your normal daily hair routine. If this doesn’t sound good to you, you can try my recipe for anti-dandruff hair rinse, which has been praised by my husband as best remedy he ever tried! BEST NATURAL ANTI-DANDRUFF REMEDY
