Ok but like Superman having good rep for punk people that, while brief, shows the ideals of punk culture being rooted in standing up for people being persecuted and fighting against the authorities that attack them was not something I was expecting but I’m genuinely so happy about it. Punk people and ideals have been treated like a joke by a lot of mainstream media, but to have a highly successful movie accurately capture it means so much to me. Especially coming from Lois Lane.

Superman EXPLICITLY being called an immigrant and alien in the new movie is I feel a wake up call that so many people needed. James Gunn perfectly reflected the state of America currently and thereby created a film that criticises world events in both a subtle and abundantly obvious way. Even though the script (I THINK, correct me if in wrong) was written before the presidency and polling began, it reflected so many issues people are so incredibly passionate about advocating for/against. It included so many powerful scenes that made clear and direct statements to anyone with a SMIDGE of media literacy. For example, Hawk Girl dropping Wish.com Netanyahu from like- what? 200ft? And the raising of the Superman flag scene and that conflict being a direct parallel to Palestine. It is such a politically charged movie and I love it to DEATH. I needed the reclamation of 'Good For The Sake Of It' Superman after He Who Shall Not Be Named (ZACK FUCKIGN SNYDER) pivotally changed the perception of the good, fundamentally HUMAN, loving Kryptonian Clark Kent.

People (Primarily conservatives, liberals (in Aus), whatever your country calls them) keep saying that Superman 2025 is TOO WOKE. and I agree its woke. But woke is good. I think it's exactly what we need right now. If being woke just means we're kind, self aware and activists then I'm all for the new movie being woke as fuck. Because it is!

viktor arcane has to be one of the characters ever.

he's gay. he's terminally ill. he's suicidal. he's from league of legends. he's in a toxic relationship with an orb. he also might be the orb(???). he bullshitted his way into the academy by pretending he went there. he rizzed up a guy so he wouldn't kill himself. he then tried to impress said guy by breaking into his boss's lab. then when he got caught he tried to play it off by saying he thought this big intimidating door was his bedroom door and he was just trying to sneak a guy in there. he nearly died because hetero sex was happening like a mile away. kinda. he took illegal drugs. he's also the apprentice of the guy who's making the illegal drugs and never mentions it. he's inspired off of the tale of frankenstein's monster. he got shot by a missle and fucking died. when he came back to life he immediately broke up his messy gay situationship and became jesus fucking christ.
