❝ Right, it’s a pleasure to be here, Dr. Trevor. ❞ He beams, extending his hand for the polite handshake dictated by social customs. ( oh he does so love to make new friends ). Networking has never been a difficult task for the charming man & & it makes him happy to meet people who have the SAME INTERESTS as him. ❝ Mythology? Wow, I can’t say I know much about it, but I’d say that’s equally as fascinating. ❞ ( he’d love to hear more about it ). Intrigued especially because he’s wondering why she of all people has been sent to greet him if she’s not from either the engineering nor physics department. Not that he’s complaining, of course.
❝ I guess I’ll just have to hope I DON’T DISAPPOINT. ❞ Laughing a bit self-consciously, he looks around the hallway, trying to remember the University of Kent’s map that he’d only briefly glanced at on his way here. ( he doesn’t really wanna be that person that gets lost & & is late to his own lecture ). ❝ Uh, you wouldn’t mind showing me the way, would you? I’m not the best with directions & & this campus is pretty big. Beautiful … but easy to get lost. ❞
“ Well, if you ever want to learn more about it or have any questions, I would be happy to help you with that. ” God, Lyta just loved being able to talk to others about mythology and the various stories that made it all up. There was an endless list of legends that she could ramble on and on and on about but she tried to hold it in until someone asked about it. Thanks to her special tie to some of those legends- thanks to her grandfather- she tended to go on for hours on end.
“ I’m sure you won’t, Dr. Palmer. You’re work seems fascinating and certainly important. ” She’d done a little research on him but didn’t understand many of the words that described the work that he did. Upon his question, Lyta offers a large smile, “ Of course! Trust me, I got lost plenty of times when I first started working here. I’ll get you there in no time. Follow me. ” The woman smile and begins to lead him towards one of her shortcuts to get him to the hall. Being here for so long, and spending so many nights wandering about, allowed her to learn all of the quickest ways to get through campus and to avoid the crowds. They’d be there in no time.
