Antoine is just one of tens of thousands of Fontainian men who leave their nation for a set amount of time at one point in their lives to pursue their education or for job matters, only to inevitably return to their homes back in Fontaine once they've accomplished their mission. Their bodies starved for so long from the lack of decadent overindulgence they were biologically predisposed to consume, they fall into an uncontrollable, extreme hedonism once back home, and begin fattening up several times faster than most men as their bodies' natural response to the "physical trauma" of not gaining enough weight while away.
