&& perhaps he was more than just a [TAD] guilty for questioning why Saito needed his hand–given Saito’s anxious body language. He did not mind, really, he did not! –It just…Embarrassed him is all. (&& flustered him, inwardly, a tad…maybe more than a tad. Definitely more than a tad.)
“N-NO, it’s alright! I don’t mind like I said, I really don’t.” He, actually, quite liked holding Saito’s smaller hand in his, it felt…a bit delicate–not that he assumed Saito was any kind of delicate, no sir. (Battle wise.) “Keep holding, as long as you like.”
(&& maybe he felt a tad guilty for pulling so many disappearing acts, school life, team activities, more activity at night–it kept him busy!)
“PROMISE.” Not that he knew where the pair were headed, but he definitely would not let go. (Although, if the setting sun told him anything, it was someplace special. Night skies usually held that sort of vibe.) R smiled encouragingly, golden eyes twinkling in warmth, as he gave Saito’s hand a reassuring squeeze. “But still, we can just go home if you’d like? I think the crowd’ll come back soon.”
A light squeeze on the hand held tightly in his grip. No, no, he eould not -- could not let this day fail him. It was his chance. It was his only chance.
“It’s okay. The crowd doesn’t have to stay away.” He shook his head. It was important to be today. It had to be -- tugging him gently. “Over here, over here.”
It’s going to be amazing. It’s going to be wonderful.
“Come on, hurry up.” Staircase, staircase -- Elevator. To the top, the roof. He wanted to be at the top when the sky was dark, then the lights would start.
He wouldn’t say much. He needed to hold it in, ‘till he was so full of his emotions that he’d burst if he didn’t say it.
Otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to.
Otherwise, he was scared he’d chicken out.
Brow furrowed a bit, clutching that hand like it was his only life line.
He was determined. It had to be today.
