i am so tired of ppl not watching the video and rbing with their ignorant opinions going on abt “dress for your body type” and shit like…. that’s not the point. the point is that almost everything deemed trendy and attractive is awarded these qualities BECAUSE they are worn by tall, skinny and usually white bodies.
if y’all had bothered to watch the video, you would’ve seen the comparison between gigi hadid wearing denim shorts and a regular ass shirt and a normal fat woman wearing the exact same fit, and how drastic the reception was for the latter. it’s the exact same outfit, nothing revolutionary or new, i can’t even call it fashion—denim shorts and a t-shirt. yet the fat woman was mocked relentlessly online and said she looked like a racist, while miss hadid was praised for being a trendsetter and a fashion icon.
and not for nothing but y’all have to shut the fuck up abt dressing for body types. it’s bullshit. women should be able to wear whatever the fuck we desire without needing others’ approval for whether or not our bodies are attractive enough for you to let us get out of the house or post pictures online. the most important thing is that YOU like what you’re wearing and YOU feel confident and comfortable in your outfits and your expression of yourself. wear a long skirt “even if” you’re short. wear 6 inch heels “even if” you’re 6 feet tall. wear crop tops and hot shorts and backless dresses “even if” you’re fat. cover up and take off whatever you want as long as you like what you’re wearing.
We should go to Spirit Halloween together [flirtatious]
some of u need to delete twitter and just fucking read articles. i did some very uhmm nerd activities for 2 yrs in school and spent time researching international stuff every day, here are the news/informational sites that i consider to be the best (unbiased, accurate, analytic, etc) and how to read them:
don’t forget to research the publications themselves, al jazeera for example is great but don’t expect to find criticism of Qatar because they’re funded by their government. every good news site has to get funding from somewhere, meaning they likely have a big corporation on the board/providing funding, which is why it’s important to read more than one. also, sites like ap news or reuters are great for information/updates, but only reading those and not anything more analytical is harmful. and not every journalist is the same, just because they’re writing for a good publication doesn’t mean they’re a good journalist. anyways here’s the list
al jazeera, ap news, center for strategic and international studies, council on foreign relations, vox news , south china morning post, reuters, the diplomat, the atlantic, the economist, yale journal of international affairs, npr, the guardian, international consortium of investigative journalists, statista, global slavery index, asia times, africa check, nasa climate, intergovernmental panel on climate change (reports)
It’s important to know where the biases of those publications are and what kind of reporting is liable to be biased. NPR is obsessed with “both sides” centrism. The Economist will always shill neoliberal capitalism, the financial sector, and (British) empire. The Guardian publishes terfs. The Atlantic loves “Never Trump” Republicans. etc etc. None of these publications is bad or will outright lie and can be a good source of information on many topics but not when it contradicts their interests
i do not get queerbaited im simply correct all the time. whether the show catches up eventually or not is no great concern of mine
loveeeeeee when my friends say things. so true bestie. words and sentences!
So, this hasn't crossed my dash yet. (Not blaming anyone, there is soooo much going on in the world and I'd also missed it in the noise).
There is currently a strike at Frito-Lay. in Topeka. These workers are striking because:
They were being forced to work 84 hour weeks. The company's best offer so far is a 60 hour cap. This is shit we fought for a century ago, people.
Their generous offer also includes a whole 4 percent wage increase...over the next 2 years. I'm not sure what COL is in Topeka, but... Well, it's better than the entire 77 cents they've apparently gotten in the last decade.
There's also a report that a worker literally collapsed and dropped dead on the line and the foreman's response was to make them move the body out of the way and put in a replacement. (However, this is unconfirmed and, of course, the company denies it).
There have been multiple OSHA violations at this plant over the last few years, including a forklift accident that's under investigation.
They've now been striking since July 5 but, of course, it only hit the national media yesterday.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2021/07/14/frito-lay-strike-forced-overtime/
So, why am I signal boosting this?
Because Frito-Lay is refusing to budge. They are attempting to make the excuse that union leadership agreed to the 60 hour work week and crappy pay cut...when union leadership only agreed to put it to a vote.
And this means that we need to put the thumbscrews on them. Remember, this is about 19th century style working conditions.
So, I'm calling on my followers to boycott Frito Lay's until the strike is involved.
Frito-Lay owns:
Lay's
Doritos (Sorry. I really am. I KNOW there's no good alternative to Doritos, although Zapp's are good if you can find them).
Fritos
Tostitos
Cheetos
Ruffles
Sun Chips
Baken-ets
Chester's
Cracker Jack
Islen plantain chips
Funyuns
Grandma's (the cookies)
Matador Meat Snacks
Maui style potato chips
Miss Vickie's
Munchies
Munchos
Rolled Gold
Sabritones
Santitas
Simply
Smartfood
Stacys
The Walking Taco
NatuChips
PopCorners (this one wasn't on their website, but was bought by Pepsi's in 2019 with the intent of adding it. So best avoided just in case). Yes, this really is more than half of the snack aisle. Suggested alternatives:
Kettle Brand Chips
Zapp's (If you can find them. My supermarket had them once and not since, so I'm guessing the culinary cowards in this neighborhood were afraid of "Voodoo" flavored chips).
Pringles
On the Border for salsa.
Wise Cheez Doodles
Bugles
Utz
Store own brand alternatives, if your store has ones that are any good.
Cheez-its
Check before you buy and let's tell these people they don't get to treat workers like that.
This was posted on FB recently by someone supporting the strike!
Do you really think s5 will happen? It’s been years and we’ve heard nothing...

sherlock based on tplosh is like a tv show about cowboys based on brokeback mountain
Not shaving and not wearing make up are literally nonbehaviors. They’re a complete lack of action. But doing nothing is considered masculine because women are not allowed to just be. this goes double for trans women.
reblog this version because transmisogynists don’t know how to fuck off.
How ttf do you even get data like this?
if you click through to the source, which is reddit, you can see that in many cases you don’t need any data at all! you can just retitle a population map, and delete your account when people ask for a source. hope this helps ❤
