I'm sooo hyped for Marius next episode.
The eyes, amazing: blues, greens, and browns all swirling around.
The hair, actually good: whilst I love his long blonde book look, it makes sense for his character he wanted to look as Roman as possible (such a desire to be perceived as having power/authority) even when the blonde hair still reminds everyone around him in Rome of his Keltoi (Celtic European) mother and origins in northern Gaul.
(Plus this season has had some interesting wig moments let's appreciate this is better than what it could have been)
Please only reveal shimmers of the evil man you are. I need that whiplash saved for our sacred Amadeo. Give Lestat your fake nice and your boring stories and your stupid rules and your threats and you uncomfortable care, but save a little turning point for when you finally come face to face with Armand again.
And he's looking after the most anticipated character this season, we will finally be blessed with the statue still form of Akasha... until some violin music starts up at least....
The Queen of the Damned and her Brat Prince.
Mmmh the parallels
The red ring belonged to Nickolas.
Lestat toys with it in S2 when talking about Nicki at the trial.
He's wearing it when being questioned about Nicki in his interview by Daniel.
As our clever journalist says is there a bit more to their story we'll get to see in the show? Some background on the music box, some more of their time in Paris, some clarity on his death, a mention of his presence at the witches place...
The Great Conversion
That's twice now Gabrielle/a...
What have you got to do with it then?
THE VAMPIRE LESTAT 03.01 | "Detroit"
THE VAMPIRE LESTAT 03.02 | "Toledo"
So secret 8th episode 😅🤞🤞🤞🤞(dream big guys, dream big)
In all seriousness this will probably be something pivotal in his story. Maybe 8 key failures that Lestat defines his life by.
Given to me by a marquis who was beheaded...
Who in the world is Gabrielle/a facetiming 😂
Of course she's just whining about her son's (currently on pause) love.
Because there's nobody else she'd call 😂. But she would sneak a pic of him for complaining time later. Because she knows what she's doing with and to Lestat is not remotely comparable to what those two have.
Her son will never deny her or she'll leave, but she has no carrot to dangle over Louis' head
TC my beloved, mocking a guy who just revealed himself as a vampire by killing a bunch of other ones, jumping out a window and proceeding to fly.
The Lewis pronunciation compared to Louis HAS to be a nod at that older audiobook where he narrates it Lewis the entire time (hilarious love the reflection on other real world vampire chronicles media, + the Louis, Thomas Pitt Brad Pitt film reference)
Ok I love the snippets of Lestat's human life before Paris but please say this is the abridged version and Daniel will peel the real horrors from him later.
Because where was the snow? Is it budget issues, do they not want to stick our Australian Lestat in Canadian winter, is it showing us a "was it raining" situation and we'll get the more truthful version later on...
Especially when we move the focus to himself not Gabrielle/a.
A certain Magnus is pretty obsessed with his wolf killing so when Daniel pulls the true version of those events forward this may be caught in that cascade.
So are we all seeing the Daniel Molloy and Rashid chemistry in ep2 or...
(reminds you of your dear maker perhaps Danny)
Yes the David Talbot mention.
I know we won't get him fully because of his characters absorption into Daniel in this series but I appreciate the shout out to our mann.
(Louis Dubai spree I see you)
Let's hope they move on from the clip like scenes in a few episodes once Lestat has settled into himself because I need to let the tale seduce me
Ok guys watch the spoiler tags (on this blog and in general) if you want to avoid news about the released TVL/S3 episodes as they come :D
Ok are we in agreement that the E1 opening is post Lestat's kidnapping by Akasha?? And Louis' leg and Armand's eye patch are a result of that tragic final concert that she blows up.
Maybe the reason Gabrielle/a is so ultra feminine is not only so they can make her masculine identity into a bigger plot point but so we as an audience get to see the misogynistic double standards of her treatment dressed like this. WE can feel frustration that she appears feminine, mirroring her internal discomfort and frustration at the way she is currently dressed. She cannonly lets Lestat dress her up as a woman because he can't let go of his mother.
And this season is Lestat's perspective, he's spiraling in the modern day and wants his mother, she is placating him and playing along.
Hopefully once we start to delve into perceptions a bit more she'll be allowed her suits and khaki, and all the masculine clothes. But we need events to happen, we need build up. And we need to remember as hard as it is we can't be given everything we want from the books immediately (but it's really difficult because I worry that they won't ever include it and it's such a big part of the character)
Another lovingly adapted book scene.
(my copy of tvl is old af and re read many times so let's not judge it's condition ok 😂)
