Rock-solid cartooning theories that were drilled into my head (and taped to my wall) when I started my first animation job on Ren and Stimpy. 22 years later there's no need to update it.

I drew this little fella a few days ago for Write Notepads and they've already printed it as a pocket notebook for an animal shelter charity event. That's the quickest publishing turnaround I've ever experienced!
Designs for the Shaman's storytelling sequence in "Sandy's Nutmare." Thanks to Kristen Morrison for help with brainstorming lots of roughs! We spent a ton of time trying to make these look special -- Cool part is, the animators used them exactly as we drew 'em in the final film.
Early character design for the "Shalmon" in new #SpongeBob episode "Sandy's Nutmare" -- with pulsating breathing cycle for his jellyfish-hat!
Detail closeup (from the bottom right hand corner) of my new SpongeBob Comics back cover painting. It's always fun getting all off-model and stuff 😃

Some much rougher preliminary roughs of Marina from SpongeBob episode, "Mall Girl Pearl". One of the biggest drawbacks to digital drawing is the undo button. Drawing on paper forces me to continually move forward with the design, but at the same time I can look back at the variety of rejected sketches and then combine my favorite bits into a final design.

Dang it...I'm gonna get this expression right eventually
