For the month of June I continued on with the goals I had last month.
My favorite moments in June were:
♡ going out with family
♡ eating out with family
♡ hanging out with friends
♡ spending quality time with extended familyÂ
♡ watching Tom Holland on talk shows on TVÂ
♡ talking to and making some friends with Tom’s fans
At the beginning of the month, I made a list of goals for myself which included: applying for jobs and volunteering, working out 3 times a week, sleeping around 10/11 pm, waking up at 8 am each day and decluttering.Â
The only goal I accomplished this month was applying for jobs. Although I was fortunate enough to get a job interview, I had learnt from my previous phone interview to continue applying for other jobs just in case I don’t get the one that I may be considered for. I had put off applying for volunteering since I got the interview. But I am still considering it and think it’ll be good to do if I don’t get any jobs offers.Â
I think what prevents me from accomplishing my goals is that I haven’t been planning out when I want to complete/work on them. For exercising, I need to figure out a good time to work out. I’ve been wanting to work out sometime in the morning because I can get it out of the way and have the rest of the day to do whatever. As for a sleep schedule, I need to set a time when I should be in bed each night as well as setting a time limit on how long I can use my phone before bed. I also need to adjust my wake up time to something that I can stick to which is probably 8:30 am. I hope that I can wake and get up at that time and then slowly practice waking up 30 minutes earlier so I can wake up around 6 am once school starts. I also need to plan a day to declutter so that my room and stuff are organized. Â
One night, I reflected on how little I had accomplished this month and realized that I spend most of my time online. This is something that I want to work on as well since I’ll be going back to school in September and I don’t want it to affect my health any longer.Â
I also sort of let myself go in terms of eating. Ever since I stopped recording what I ate everyday and since I have allowed myself to eat meat more than a few times, I haven’t been really conscious of what I’ve been eating. But lately, I’ve noticed that I’m eating when I’m not even hungry, I overeat at times, I sometimes eat late at night and am finding myself craving/gravitating towards junk food. What I will allow myself to do is eat meat (but not too much). I did try a pescatarian diet but found it difficult since I don’t know how to cook proper meals nor did research on which foods I should eat that provide me with the nutrients I would get from meat. It’s also hard since no one else that I know or live with has a meatless diet. I think I may go back to being a pescatarian when I live on my own so that I won’t fall into temptation and am left to make my own meals and purchase my own groceries. I think I’ll try to record what I eat everyday or just be aware and set limits for myself so that I’m not eating unhealthy anymore.Â
I think it’s important to not be so hard on yourself. Just forgive yourself and do the best you can to make yourself proud. It’s good to reflect and realize what you want to change and improve on. Plan on how you can make these changes/improvements happen and keep moving forward.Â
Next month, I plan to push myself so that I can accomplish most or even all of these goals. I believe I can achieve anything if I just put my mind to it. I think what will help is reflecting at the end of each week so I can see how/if I have been doing something to achieve my monthly goals.
• continue applying for jobs
• applying for volunteering opportunities (if I don’t get a job offer)
• working out 3 times each week
• being in bed at 9 pm each night
