And when I stumble upon you and you make me trip over my words, and make me forget how to inhale, and make my stomach twist in knots, and make me think “Please, oh god, let him still be there in the morning!” I have to remind myself, “This boy will not fall in love with you.” Because otherwise in that moment of lightness and excitement, I will allow myself to give you everything. I will pour into you every last bit of myself that I can tap out of my veins. I will care too much, too quickly, and you will leave me. You will not be there in the morning, you will not have fallen in love with me, and I’ll wake up, bled out, torn open wondering how I ever thought you’d stay.

Dallas justice of the peace is really proud that he doesn't want to marry same-sex couples

Justice of the Peace Bill Metzger will not issue licenses to gay or lesbian couples, according to his Facebook page.

Bill Metzger, a justice of the peace in Dallas County, is trying desperately to be the next Kim Davis. 

In a Facebook post last week, Metzger ranted about how he plans to refuse to marry same-sex couples, even though that’s technically illegal and those couples would just get married by another person probably in the same office. Because marriage discrimination is illegal now, remember?! He wrote: 

“As I said back in June of last year, because of my faith in God as a devout Catholic I will be only be conducting traditional marriages. Recently, I have been asked about my beliefs and stance on traditional marriage. I think it is important to point out that this is the law in Texas per Attorney General Ken Paxton’s legal interpretation via opinion KG-0025: ‘Justices of the peace retain religious freedoms, and may claim that the government cannot force them to conduct same-sex wedding ceremonies over their religious objections.’ This came as a result of a request from Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick. As such, it is not true for someone to say they are required by law to conduct a non-traditional wedding.

It is clear that any Justice of the Peace in Texas can refuse to perform a non-traditional wedding when that wedding can be performed by others. My sincerely held religious belief keeps me from being forced to conduct anything but a traditional wedding as a Judge per our Attorney General.”

Sigh. I am bored of angry conservatives trying to make a name for themselves by citing their religion as an excuse to sabotage others’ legal rights. Bored.

They talk about their ‘morning ritual’ and how they ‘dress for writting’… No one tells the truth about writting a book. Authors pretend their stories were always shiny and perfect and just waiting to be written. The truth is, writting is this: hard and boring and ocassionally great, but usually not

The Truth About Microagression.

Microaggressions aren’t about how one tiny little comment can destroy someone. Discussing microaggressions isn’t about fragility. Microaggressions are about how tiny seemingly innocent comments add up into the perception of who their target is over the course of their lives. 

It’s not “So where are you REALLY from?” it’s about hearing “So where are you REALLY from?” five thousand times over the course of your life. It plays into the concept that because you don’t look/behave/present a specific  way that you inherently don’t belong. 

It’s about constantly hearing Privilege People taking it upon themselves to correct YOU about YOUR identity and your place in society, even in seemingly innocent ways, over and over again.  The reason why this are damaging is because the victim is constantly forced to reassert their identity to themselves and to others and that is an incredibly exhausting process.
