Seeing Red || Agents Ross and Hill
Elias had learned to deal with a lot of shit during his life. Beginning in his childhood, he’d dealt with simply taking orders simply because they’d been given by a superior. Living with a General as a father wasn’t the easiest, but it had prepared him for his life as both a soldier and an agent. But this? This was different. People could threaten him all they wanted, but no one threatened and insulted Betty. Especially not to the point that Agent Hill had. He walked with purpose through the halls of SHIELD until he got to where he’d been told Hill was having lunch, presumably alone. Opening the door quite aggressively, he saw that he was right. “Commander.” He said coldly as he approached the table.
“Peace and quiet,” Mark mumbles to himself with a sigh. It has taken him a week, but he was finally going to have a quiet lunch by himself. Alone. Without anyone around. Just him and the plain old sandwich he picked up from the local shop. No paperwork, no recruits, no probl-
The door slams open and Agent Ross stands there, giving Mark that look that he knows only too well. So much for peace and quiet, he thinks darkly to himself. Instead, he puts on a smile as fake as the ham in the sandwich. “Agent. Do you not understand the words, ‘Do not disturb’ that’s hanging on the door?”
Elias gave a small, rather ironic chuckle as he shook his head at the man's words. "I understand them just fine, sir, but I fail to see a reason to follow instructions given by you simply because you have no idea how to properly deal with people like any normal, decent human being." He stated simply with a shrug and a tight, sarcastic smile on his face.
Oh my God, this is the men's room! (Open)
Lily was usually incredibly observant. Honestly, it was something she was pretty proud of, but her “morning” sickness had taken a rather severe turn, and when the urge hit her, she knew she only had about 45 seconds or things were going to get messy.
After a particularly violent episode, Lily exited the stall and was splashing some water on her face when she noticed that something felt wrong. She looked up and saw that there was a man standing at the sink next to her smiling sympathetically, but slightly awkwardly at her. Her face went bright red, “Oh my…I’m so sorry about this.”
The sound of someone throwing up in the stall had caught Elias' attention immediately. It happened more than one might think, but what really got his attention was the fact that the person in the stall was very much not a male.
Rather concerned for the woman's well being rather than the fact that there was a female in the men's bathroom, Elias put the fact that he had to pee on hold, waiting for the occupant to exit the stall. "No, no, don't even worry about it, sweetheart. You haven't offended me with your presence at all." He assured her, chuckling lightly. "The only thing I'm concerned about is whether or not you're alright. Would you like me to get the nurse? Or I can help you down to the infirmary if you'd rather."

“Congrats, you’re the third SHIELD agent I’ve had the pleasure of meeting today.”
“They do say that bad things come in threes. But they also say that the third time’s the charm. Depends on whether you look at the glass half empty or half full, I suppose.”
“I look at the glass and wonder what’s in its contents.”
"Sensible. I like that. It's respectable. What've the other agents filled your glass with today? Something I should be aware of or concerned about? Some of the other agents can be rather unreasonable and ridiculously unfriendly."
...... ow.

Seeing Red || Agents Ross and Hill
Elias had learned to deal with a lot of shit during his life. Beginning in his childhood, he'd dealt with simply taking orders simply because they'd been given by a superior. Living with a General as a father wasn't the easiest, but it had prepared him for his life as both a soldier and an agent. But this? This was different. People could threaten him all they wanted, but no one threatened and insulted Betty. Especially not to the point that Agent Hill had. Belias babies.
“Betty…” Elias started, running a hand through her long hair and looking down at her with a sad, sympathetic look. Watching her curl up, he moved around to the front of the chair and lifted her up bridal style so that he could slip under her and set her back down on his lap carefully with his arms wrapped securely around her. “Sweetheart, no one is going to keep me away from you, no matter how hard they try. I don’t give two shits who they think they are or what their title is.” Who the hell was going around telling her things like that? They’d just found each other again and now someone was threatening her with the two of them being not only torn apart again, but locked away? Fuck that, it wasn’t going to happen. Not if he or Rulk either one could help it. Elias could testify to that due to the angry growls coming from the back of his mind at the news. Rulk liked Betty and wouldn’t let anyone hurt her. He was almost as determined as Elias. Almost. “It was just talk. I’d like to see them try and lock you away from me. As long as I have a single breath left in my body, I will not notfight for you, your freedom, and for us. I don’t care who stands in my way.”
She let herself get picked up limply, not putting up a fight as she shut her eyes tightly, and choked on a sob that thumped in her chest she didn’t have come to light. but strained on her face. She nuzzled her face into his neck, hiding herself and grabbing onto him and his shirt. She wiped her face with her fingers and hoarsely whispered, nodding weakly, “… I know… I know…” She took a quick, wet breath before whispering hardly from her throat, “… thank you…” She sniffled into his shirt, curling up tightly on him, but loosened up as she took a moment to listen to his flighty, but steady heartbeat that eased her a bit. She sniffled again before speaking quietly, “…I know it wa-as just talk, not something… something he could really do, but…” She balled some of his shirt in her hand tightly and shook for a second before shakily admitting in a choked sob, “… it terrified me…”
She covered her face a bit, “I mean, I-I saw their .. cage with my own two eyes…” Her voice found some confident and relief in saying it out loud. “I’ve seen their models, what they do, w-what they can…” She shook her head, speaking with some short-lived confidence, “… But… you’re right… It’s not something I, that we couldn’t fight.” She remembered that she had him again, not just Shulkie now. The feeling she got from that and his words made her crack a fragile smile. She whispered hardly audible, her positioning at his neck aiding in him hearing, “… I love you...”
Rubbing soft, comforting circles into her back, Elias looked down at Betty, his heart breaking at the sight of her breaking down. He had seen her like this before, but it had been a long while. And since then he'd had an addition added to his headspace, which made it even harder not to be angry at the person who'd caused it in the first place. But for Betty's sake, he tried his best to hide it.
"I've seen the plans before. I don't believe they know that I've seen them, but I have. They're tough, I'll give them that, but I don't believe that it'll ever actually come down to that. You've proven that you're a reliable member of the Avengers and I would like to think that I've proven the same as an agent. They can't afford to not have us around." He said softly with a small smile and a light chuckle, hoping to bring just the slightest bit of humor into the situation. His fingers threaded through her hair as he pulled her close to him, then pressed a light kiss to the top of her forehead. "When did all of this happen, Bee?"
