      Given the specifics that lead to his current situation? Perhaps the Captain was correct in that assessment. In all assessments of the ‘spider. He wasn’t a hero, he wasn’t someone who fought for good, and he had far more blood on his hands than most would believe. Far more lives lost due to his little antics than he chose to accept - something that could never be changed. 

        “Would you rather I chose another name, Captain?” he asked, attempting to push himself up from the ground, but ultimately failing as he spit out a bit of blood from his torn up mask. “Since it seems no matter what I do these days… I can’t seem to be fast enough.” Or win, but that was ultimately besides the point in his mind.

     “It won’t MATTER where you’re going, son.” Jail, or worse, depending on if this Spider-Man’s home universe had the means to contain him or not. Otherwise, he was sure Nick would think something up, always did. “You never win when you go down this path, ever. When you’re a bully, there’s always going to be somebody willing to stand up and fight back. No matter how big or strong you think you are, you’re nothing against a united front. Red Skull, Green Goblin, even you, Spider-Man.”

     He felt repulsed having to call him that. The Spider-Man Steve knew was a good man, a kind man. One who would rather die than see himself commit the kinds of atrocities this one has. “Looks like you just couldn’t handle the responsibility.”
