Dinner tonight! I tried out my veggie spiralizer for the first time and made zoodles! I didn't cook them long enough for fear of them getting soggy but the great thing about using zucchini is its okay if they are still raw! Dinner is Zoodles, shrimp, and homemade alfredo sauce. Suppa delish.
Today I woke up and made the executive decision to cut red meat out of my diet. It was such an easy decision and one I know I will easily be able to stick with. I just had to have one last steak. I decided to cut red meat out of my diet, starting tomorrow morning, for a few reasons. My closest peeps already know about this part of my life, and some may find it to be a little TMI but I don't care. This isn't to gross out, its to inform. Anyways, I have chronic constipation. I have seen a few doctors about this, I've been prescribed medication for it, I have done colon cleanses, fibre supplements... you name it. I rarely poop and when I do you best believe my best friends get a snap of my happy face. Now I know red meat is not the only factor for cause of constipation, but it does contribute. Red meat contains high amounts of iron which causes stool to become hardened thus contributing to constipation. Also, red meat is very low in fibre which also help stools to stay soft and pass through your body. Experts say normal "transit time" from ingesting to well... pooping... is about 16 hours. (If you wish to test this, eat some corn. Note the hour of consumption and the hour you see it in your stool) After 16 hours, red meat starts to really putrefy and produced toxins. Not only will this create discomfort and intense odor, but food that putrefies in the stomach, colon, or intestines creates a breeding ground for viruses, bacteria, and tumors. After much research, and many documentaries, I have found that so much about our bodies rely on our diets and I have first hand experience from when I participated in the Buzz Feed Two Week Clean Eating Challenge. Boy, there was no constipation and it was a plant based, high fibre, low carb, gluten and dairy free diet. I have more research to do. If you have any recommendations of documentaries to watch, or articles to read, please feel free to share them.
Back to the gym after a long, long........long break. Not only did I discover I lost a lot of the stamina I once had, I also need some new shoes. I used to wear my #brooks and they were amazing for a while but they started to hurt my feet and then the soles started falling apart. Which was pretty disappointing because they were almost $200 and I have $20 pair of shoes that have held up better. I have really flat feet so I thought my feet were hurting because the arch in the shoe was pushing something wrong which made my toes go numb, so I switched to my old Airwalks and the problems went away. Only now, I got a blister today because they were rubbing and my socks were too short and also, my other foot hurts pretty bad both in my arch and on the outside of my foot, especially when I walk. So. If you have made it this far through my post, if anyone has any good suggestions for shoes for flat, wide feet, Please let me know. I want to be sure I'm taking care of my feet and making sure I'm not hurting myself in the gym because I'm overcompensating from bad shoes or foot pain. (at Planet Fitness - Marysville, WA)
Found some #kodiakcakes #powercakes mix at #costco and had to try them. I first saw them from @nikkiblackketter and @christianguzmanfitness and have seen them on a few other channels too. I was so happy when I opened the box and found they packaged the mix in 3 separate bags. I've used this mix to make waffles and they are SO good. How do you like your waffles? I make one big one and put different toppings on each section. I am so so so so SO sick and TIRED of seeing this..... Shit. You have NO idea where this girl came from. Maybe she came from work, a place where it's not uncommon to show up with makeup and your hair done. Or maybe, she felt like shit about herself this morning and the only way she got herself out of the house was dolling up. Or MAYBE, she just got done doing noneofyourfuckingbusiness. Don't worry about what someone else looks like at the gym unless they are going to hurt themselves and get on with your workout.
I was so nervous to try this because I REALLY don't like Greek yogurt. But this was so good I was scrapping the sides. I think the only change I would make would be to add some granola for added texture. 227g Greek Yogurt 42g Organic Honey 123g Raspberries Another change I made recently was measuring my food in grams instead of cups, tablespoons, etc. I feel like measuring in grams gets you a more accurate account of what's going in your body. Hellllooooooo October! October to December is my absolute FAVORITE. Since its a new month, I thought I would start with something new; a monthly goals list shared with you. I know it's not a new concept, I see it here all the time but I'm jumping on the wagon. Its also my first time creating a pic like this instead of just using filters.. I likey. Anyways - to the goals. 1: Loose 10lbs (and keep that shit off) 2: Drink more Water 3: Get up earlier in the day 4: Be more interactive on here (I usually just like pictures but I would like to gall up and start commenting and talking with people more) 5: Promote my jewelry business more (I have a hard time because I don't want to annoy people but since we're here ;) www.Etsy.com/shop/stonewayjewelry) 6. Start journaling. (I have quite a few journals for this purpose but I never feel ready to start) 7. Start writing poetry again 8. Keep up with tracking my foods 9. Start a YouTube Channel to visually keep track of things. 10 goals for the month of October. I think most are quite feasible so we'll see. Finished my first bag of Sprouted Rice & Quinoa Blend from #touRISTS and am on to my 2nd bag. I cook this in my rice cooker under the brown rice setting and it's perfect. My first #LUSH product! I got the smaller Ocean Salt Scrub because I wanted to make sure that I was actually going to use all of it before spending the money on the bigger one. I have super dry, flaky skin and I'm the WORST when it comes to moisturizing so the rep gave me this as a kind of, all-in-one thing.
