My reworked Guide to the Dragons of Pyrrhia if it was written as an in universe reference for the characters in the book! Under the cut are my revamped descriptions of dragons and their abilities, accompanied with art of important figures both past and present in the tribes. This was really fun to finally finish and I hope I can post more stuff like this once I’ve gotten deep into my rewrite!

Description: Typically large dragons with thick-plating scales, with a distinct flattened snout shape. MudWings have tusks that jut out from their moths. Their talons are partially webbed. Their scales are usually brown, amber, or orange.
Abilities: Can breathe Firebreath if their internal temperatures are warmed. Have the ability to hold their breath underwater for long times and can sense their surroundings in dark, murky waters. Due to their scale thickness, they have a natural fire resistance.
Current Queen: Moorhen of the Sun Brick Fortress
Alliance: Allied with Princess Blister of the SandWings and the SeaWings in the War of SandWing Succession.

Description: Typically lithe and quick dragons, SandWings are known for their barbed tail, similar to scorpions. They have a sail that travels from their head to their tail. Their scales are quite thorny and rough. They’re usually a pale color, favoring shades reflecting their sandy desserts.
Abilities: Can breathe Firebreath in quick bursts, igniting faster than any other tribe. Known to survive for months without food or water. Their stingers can inject a slow-acting venom that is deadly if left untreated.
Current Queen: No reigning Queen. The SandWing throne is currently being individually sought after by late Queen Oasis’s three daughters: Burn, Blister, and Blaze.
Alliances: SandWing alliance is split. Those allied with Princess Burn are also allied with the SkyWings. Those allied with Princess Blister are allied with the MudWings and the SeaWings. Those allied with Princess Blase are allied with the IceWings.

Descriptions: These dragons typically have large, strong wings with no tertiary limbs. These slender, fast dragons can either have cloven hooves or talons. Their scales are smooth like metal and often have a gem-like shine to it. They come in various shades of red, orange, and gold.
Abilities: Can breathe the hottest Firebreath of any tribe. SkyWings are typically strong, agile fliers that can fly over long distances without tiring. They can also use their wings to climb up mountains where the air is too thin and flying becomes difficult.
Current Queen: Scarlet of the Claw-Tip Tower
Alliances: Allied with Princess Burn in the War of SandWing Succession.

Description: Thick and large dragons, SeaWings are known for their gills and a long fin that travels down their back. Their talons are webbed and their tails are powerful. Along their scales they also have bioluminescent scales that glow on command. They come in a variety of blue, green, or turquoise shades.
Abilities: SeaWings possess the ability to breathe underwater and are naturally excellent swimmers. Their eyes are well adapted to see underwater and in the dark. Their powerful tails can create large waves of water and are an effective weapon against other dragons.

Alliance: Allied with Princess Blister of the SandWings and the MudWings in the War of SandWing Succession.

Description: A unique blend of feathered and scaled, RainWings are known for their bright showy colors. They also have an expressive frill along their neck that is capable of folding in and out. Their tails are prehensile. Can be nearly every color visible to the eye.
Abilities: RainWings have the ability to shift the color of their feathers and scales to match their environment in camouflage as well as express themselves. The tail is used to aid them in climbing trees. No natural offensive capabilities.
Current Queen: Dazzling of the Vervain Hatchery
Alliance: RainWings are not involved in the War of SandWing Succession.
~IceWings~

Description: Partially furred dragons, IceWings are best known for a crown of horns that grow from their heads. They also have serrated, sharp claws and dark eyes. Their thin tails narrow into a spiked club on the end of it. Typically a blue or white color, usually with a silvery polish and shine to their scales.
Abilities: Unlike most other tribes, IceWings have a deadly Frostbreath that can inflict serious frostbite injuries and even death. They also have the ability to withstand subzero temperatures of their home. Their claws are sharp enough to cleanly grip the ice.
Current Queen: Glacier of the Frost-Hidden-Castle
Alliance: Allied with Princess Blaze of the SandWings in the War of SandWing Succession.

Description: An elusive tribe, NightWings has most known for their wings and underbelly being patterned like stars in the night. They often have pronounced noses and larger ears. Their scales are rather rough, giving them a matte look that blends into the shadows and the night sky. They are all nearly black in color.
Abilities: NightWings can use Firebreath. They naturally camouflage into the dark due to their scales. They are known for their abilities to read minds and foretell the future.
Current Queen: [Battlewinner]
Alliance: NightWings are not involved in the War of SandWing Succession.
Darkstalker doesn't respect the autonomy of anyone
The worst and most flagrant example of this is surprisingly one that's often forgotten or overlooked for other things he did and it's the enchantment he places on Fierceteeth to become Clearsight. He luckily gets caught and defeated but what would happen if he wasn't caught or defeated? What would happen if after he won and took over Pyrrhia continued to work on his fake Clearsight, which is literally just an enchanted Fierceteeth, to the point where he thinks a fake replication of Clearsight is good/close enough to the original? He would do what he always wanted to do with the real Clearsight like rule the Kingdom together, get married and have dragonets while Fierceteeth is still there under a spell.
There is actually no way to defend this, even if you give him the benefit of the doubt by saying "he was just sad and after failing to get the fake Clearsight right he would abandon the plan entirely and not go through with it," that still doesn't change the fact that he still did actually try to do it with the intention of it actually working. There is no defending him for this, no reasonings Darkstalker himself or irl darkstalker defenders can give to defend or lessen the severity of this action. This moment doesn't get much attention do to how little time the book spends on it but it's horrifying when you stop to think about the implications of Darkstalker did and was trying to do.
That's not even the only instance of ignoring one's autonomy. The pattern continues with him it constantly puts spells on other dragons wyith out their permission. Examples being Clearsight and the enchanted earrings so she won't see bad futures, a goblet that would make Fathom forget about and not like Indigo anymore (luckily Indigo knew something was wrong), turned Indigo to into a statue, enchanted Arctic to obey, enchanted Vulture to obey every command, enchanted everyone to trust and like him, and the whole telling Clearsight that he will drag her kicking and screaming to a future he likes. This is only counting magical subversions of one's autonomy he also just does it with plain manipulation and he does it a lot.
So I don't know how to end this but crap like this is why I actually want Darkstalker to experience genuine mental anguish for everything he's done. Him becoming Peacemaker was too easy on him I need this dragon to experience non magically induced ego death and all the mental anguish that comes from it.
