It is wild that I have heard the exact opposite two reasons we should translate 'abd Allah as servant or slave of God. So the people advocating for servant emphasize how being a servant of God is like a contractual agreement where you have rights over your master/boss, but the people advocating for slave emphasize how we're all slaves of God because we don't have a choice in the matter
