like very easy to pass by but there’s enough small moments where if there was just the teeeeeeensiest bit of focus and expansion on them, or if horikoshi had actually had a brief interlude showing how the lov and the mla are integrating together before the big war arc, there’d be a very obvious character arc of spinner’s devotion to shigaraki inspiring latent leadership qualities in himself after a lifetime of feeling empty, purposeless, and only shallowly trying to toddle along in stain’s shadow trying to find meaning. it’s THERE
