part of him wonders if he’s out of practice. back home, he used to train, like, twenty-four-seven, but out here, with so much else to do and see, and without o’shea prowling around like a poacher with a dart gun, he’s getting better at moderation. balance, like sensei larusso keeps preaching. he wipes the blood from his eye and forehead first; it comes away bright red, like paint. on the far side of the mat, senseis kreese and martin are busy attending to the other students, not paying any attention to the fallen member of the herd. to conor, that seems about right. larusso’s fussing over him like he’s his mom. gaze now unobscured, (fingertips pressing the proffered dressing to the wound firmly, as instructed) conor’s eyes find his. he frowns. ‘you don’t have to baby me, you know.’

my mother-in-law passed away tonight. she was diagnosed with stage four cancer just six weeks ago. my husband and i were extremely close with her. activity here might to drop for the next while (not that i’m super active anyway) but maybe not because i will definitely need some fun distractions from. well. everything. idk man. hmu on discord let’s talk silly shit. anyway i’m just letting y’all know.
