Law enforcement was always overflowing with the most charming of people, could be the reason Sarang seems so particularly fond of the idea of messing with them.
It’s a hobby, a shameful one she finds no shame in, to always figure out how to ruin an officer’s day. Whatever have they ever done to bother her enough that she has it out for all of them? Nothing, really. Is it a general issue with authority? Well, to say she’s fond of authority would be as ridiculous a lie as pointing at her and shouting she’s purple, but for that particularly charismatic side of her personality to show, she’d have to actually respect the police as an authority.
So, what was the issue here? Why has she been gingerly picking through a recently bough box of Pocky while leaning against the driver’s door of ‘her’ vehicle for the past however many minutes, humming cheerfully and only interrupting herself to lift her gaze and watch the cop’s shenanigans?
Oh, definitely a bad day.
Her target had gotten away. Which is why he, good cop bad cop about-to-pop-a-blood-vessel Mr I Will Arrest You On These Terms, couldn’t be allowed to leave and actually help catching the guy.
She needed him to get away… so she could find him and kill him.
Simple.
She’d already missed out on catching the original bandwagon. She couldn’t let the rest of the gang catch up.
Then again, getting arrest wouldn’t be convenient either.
She turns around the moment he mentions the word accomplice, calmly and without a care in the world, she tosses the half-eaten Pocky pack onto the driver’s seat and nabs the keys she’d still left in the ignition.
Then she turns to face him again.
She adjusts her posture, clears her throat of a few times and then… bursts into tears.
Well, not quite, but her features fall and twist into ugly desperation as she stumble forward, reaching for his chest, voice rising in pitch and volume.
“Oh, no, please, officer, you can’t do that to me, please, I’m just- I’m so- I’m so sorry I can’t go to jail I’m so alone no one will help me, no one will wait for me, what about my cats?! Officer, I can’t leave my cats behind, no one will feed them, what happens if I don’t get out for a long time, I don’t even like tofu!”
the team was dispatched as soon as the code zero rang through the building. they had to be the first on the scene to be able to help others. at the scene in three, arrested in five and case closed in twenty minutes. ----- easier said than done in most circumstances.
her sudden out fall took her by surprise, the junior detective was still not used to such advances of strangers throwing themselves at him. not like that at least. --- but truth be told, he did not have time for that right now. he needed to get going. and if he had to call an extra team to get disposed of her car and herself. ----
they had uncovered a cartel a view hours earlier, a case that kept them busy the past week, although it was not easy to find a source. they just needed one clue and as if it was heard by the gods, with the call of a lady who seemed to kidnapped and sedated but still able to hold on to make a call. the background: organ trafficking with young women and teenagers. quite the unbelievable deed these bastards did to the young women. he’d never quite understand how one could be so cruel to anybody. they had found out just a couple of hours until the phone call came in. putting two and two together, missing organs with the victims, disposed bodies in rivers and dumpsters, sometime even left at the scene in a bathtub. ---- now another chance at finally getting them and put an end to it all.
daeshik stepped back the moment she flung herself at him, to catch her arms with his big hands and to pull her aside quickly. nevertheless, he stayed gentle with whatever he was doing. last time something like this escalated on the not so sunny side. --------- there truly was no time to play around right now.
“ miss, with all respect.. “ his tone less harsh but still pressing. “ give me your keys. “ he requested with a gentle but determined voice. if he was able to move the car into the next street than that would be enough. unit one had already lost precious minutes already. the detective let go of the women. “ your keys, miss!“
“ unit one speaking. we’re having a road block. we’ll be there in five. unit two are you at the scene already ? “
it was the least he could do to not lose more precious time to save the victim and finally take down the gang that had initiated the whole cartel to do these horrendous things. he gave the center the vehicle license plate number to have them send a fine for wrong parking and obstruction of justice. although latter would probably be dismissed.
“ go straight ahead and the fifth ally take a left turn. go around and i’ll circle them from the other side. “ he yelled towards the waiting car and his team mates.
if he could not move the car, he might as well take it and use it for benefit for the lost minutes. even if it was a sly act.
